At first glance, I saw the '$99 + $0' on the second line and I started shivering.

    • +18

Oh wow I totally didn’t expect this comment to make an appearance

    • +1

      Lepin

    • +3

ok…but what do you really think?

and do you have anything to add about the associated disney licensing costs?

    • I doubt that it was LEGO on ali express !

  • +3

Not a bad build, took me about about 2 weeks to make it doing it casually after work.

  • +4

What the hell is an aluminum falcon?

    • +1

idk…maybe it outsmarts empire magnet traps?

    • Falcon that suffered from inflation.

    • he's the new captain america

  • +1

I regret not jumping on the 850 (or there abouts) last year on Amazon Japan. Hoping I can get close this year.

    • You don't have messages enabled so DM me if you're in Sydney and interested in a NIB one.

    • Glad i picked mine up during that event!

  • +2

Can you use your EDR monthly 10% on this one?

    • +1

Unfortunately the Everyday Extra 10% discount doesn't apply to the $999 Falcon.
It discounts the other 2 sets.

    • +2

Nope $500 max spend. It used to work, but they fixed it.

      • +1

Thanks @trixieb and @Repstar, I had a feeling that this would not be an option. Cheers.

      • Called inflation?

  • +1

If you don’t have a wife then go for it

    • +1

If you dont need a wife then go for it. A ticker to the freedom land

      • Oh Millennia, you’re so hot, make me a sandwich.

    • You just need a better wife 🤣

      • Maybe she needs a better husband !

        • Yep that too

  • Worth double in 10 years?

    • You'd want it to considering inflation tends to average out to 100% every 10 years.

    • Sealed? The value would likely double if it trends like other big Star Wars set.

Brick Economy - 75192 LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon

      • Good website

Didn't know there was something like that

Ya sealed just need work on storage

        • Good website

What you should do as an exercise in how modelling works is take a screenshot of their predicted future price, then revisit in x years to see how wrong they were. You will then learn why the models are mostly just guesswork.

Or you can just get the Lepin version (which is 99%+ as good as the Lego version) with a stand and full lights kit for $400

    https://joooooy.com/collections/star-wars/products/7541pcs-s…

    • +4

$400 for fake crap… real bargain there..

      • so what you're saying is "it's a hunk of junk" ?

    • -4

Not sure the downvotes on you. I understand that the Lego set will be better quality, plus the cost of marketing etc on top. For those that really want a set but can't afford the price tag, the Lepin is an option. Not an option for all of course especially the Lego enthusiasts.

      • +4

Because it's a counterfeit product? I don't think Lepin employs 100s of master designers that spend months creating these highly intricate sets.

Pretty sure they hit download on the digital manual and steal the whole thing.

        • -2

Yes you are correct of course, but revolves around all things. All things are copied and people non stop buy knockoff copies and inferior products all the time. Just look at shops like Cotton On, Kmart, Makeup, shoes, Bunnings crap - jeez the list goes on - it applies to all products. I'm not saying it is right or pushing the the cheaper and inferior product. Once again you are right about the man hours spent creating the lego products and curated sets. But even going into Woolworths and Coles where they have imitated a product and placed it in a better strategic location, copying the marketing etc - are you always reaching for the slightly more expensive Australian product e.g. Milk - maybe you do and maybe you are altruistic across every product

      • +1

If you are not a Lego enthusiast.. on what world is $400 for a plastic knockoff spaceship a bargain then?

      • -1

For those that can't afford a car, just steal one.

        Awesome advice.

Don't jump on it thinking you'll come out like some rich investor, it was released in 2017, in another 2-3 yrs it's like a 10 yr old LEGO set that people have all thought to stock pile on.

  • You want to impress me. Build it without the manual.
