AAAAANNNNDDDD that's a wrap. Allocated stock exhausted (150pc!)

Thanks to all that ordered! For anyone still shopping, we still have a $250 off promo code 'BLACK250' applicable to all custom and prebuilt PCs with a bonus keyboard. About 80 of those left at the time of this update (03/12/24 10:15am)

** Update ** : Due to falling AU dollar and rising supply costs, the price has increased ~ $30 on the base default configuration originally advertised below from $1269 to $1299. This increase is still less than the rise in the component costs we've had to restock to keep the offer live up to this point. Unless the AU dollar recovers in the near future this still may be one of best deals going between now and Christmas. Allocated inventory for this offer is limited and the discount code will be deactivated once this stock is cleared. If you keen, get in quick!

Important Update : While you can still order this PC and still claim the $500 discount with the coupon code, we're no longer advertising the steam gift card promo. While it's technically still eligible until the end of the month, our order queue is so long that we're not confident orders not yet placed by the time of this post update will be fulfilled in time for the end user redemption that closes on DEC 15th.

For those who have already ordered. Please ensure you redeem the promo on or before December 15th. You'll need the PC in hand before you can, instructions will be provided on the invoice emailed to you after the order is dispatched.

The TLDR; Elevator Pitch

  • Over $100 cheaper than DIY / PCPP pricing
  • Last chance to score the bonus $120USD Steam Gift Card* from MSI (Up to $225US with available config options)
  • Very CPU/GPU/SSD upgradable long term with ample Gen5 power supply wattage and high quality motherboard
  • Last 'Black Friday' deal of the year (from us!) so get in while it lasts. Limited qty available (approx 120pc)

The Long Spiel

๐Ÿฅณ Happy Friday Apologies for the long gap between deals! Have been hammered with orders and we're just get through the last of previous deals orders.

This will very likely be the last of the MSI Steam Gift Card bundle deal as the promo period is coming to a close at the end of the month and end users must redeem on or before December 15th

As per usual, there's a similar deal or two floating around in the same rough price ball park when just consider the top line specs. However as anyone who's followed a few of our previous posts probably can guess by now, our pitch on this one as with all our previous will be a little more $$ for a more overall premium package.

Just to touch on some of the reasons someone might choose this deal over others, lets say a certain $1148 offer that comes with a couple more cores on the CPU..

  • MUCH higher end motherboard (despite the extremely similar product name) with a hugely improved VRM and power delivery system to better support higher end CPUs and overall a bunch more features and connectivity options as standard.
  • Slightly larger better and ARGB cooler.
  • Lower latency RAM (CL30), with added ARGB lighting vs No LED, CL32.
  • Better ventilated chassis with 4x ARGB fans instead of 1x.
  • 750w Gen5 PSU vs 650w non-Gen5
  • 5000MB/s Gen4 NVMe SSD vs 3600MB/s
  • Double the L3 cache on the CPU (albeit with 2 fewer cores) for overall slight gaming perf edge
  • Options to config a spec eligible for up to $225US Steam Gift Card vs max $120US.
  • Shorter lead times to dispatch
  • Cheaper shipping to most major metro areas
  • No additional charge for full parcel insurance (vs ~ $20+)

All up we think that comes out to pretty good value for money even, especially given this particular competing deal we're comparing against above comes out to ~$1497 when just upgrading the motherboard to match, SSD & RAM to the same speed and latency, matching PSU wattage and the slapping on the cheapest ARGB after market air cooler option.

To be clear, the other deal is a lot of bang for buck if you have a use case for those two extra CPU cores and don't mind all the other compromises. In our own testing, the 7500F has a small edge in all but a few edge cases as it has a small per core performance advantage and double the L3 cache example example here. The additional two cores rarely are the bottle-necking factor in almost all modern games when paired with a proper dedicated gaming GPU at any reasonable resolution and graphics settings. Rare exceptions apply of course, (eg Civ 6/7) where the extra two cores make a difference, and for things like video editing you might want to consider the 8 or more core CPU options from either us or the competition :)

Questions regarding Windows licenses & installation
- Yes, our licenses are 100% genuine OEM or retail licenses purchased directly from Microsoft authorized distributors. Physical copies of these products are provided with the PC including the license key cards and installation flash drive (for retail licenses) or COA stickers (for OEM licenses). Any system builder that doesn't provide these could be charging you full price for a grey market key of significantly less value and questionable origin. Always demand the physical copies!
- Yes, if you purchase Windows from us we will have it pre-installed, setup, updated and with all the required drivers pre-installed ready to go out of the box.
- No we cannot pre-install Windows for anyone who doesn't purchase a genuine license. We'd love to offer this as a service for those who already have a genuine license but selling a PC pre-loaded with Windows without a license purchase is strictly forbidden by Microsoft.
- Yes, if you have a genuine retail (not OEM or volume) license you can provide to us and that we can validate as genuine, we can activate it for you and provide the PC with Windows pre-installed. Contact us after placing your order with your order number and license details to arrange. OEM or volume keys cannot be accepted as they are non transferable to new systems.

  • How's that compare to a ps5 pro?

    • +2

I was going to say one has minesweeper and other doesn't, but upon googling that it appears to be no longer the case since 2019!

so i guess they're more or less identical? The PC has more RGB though ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • It's pretty close but this is more of a 1080p machine. The PS5 Pro GPU is slightly beefier than this and is better suited for 4k gaming (well, upscaled using PSSR, so DLSS probably still trumps it), but the CPU in this is miles ahead.

      • +2

Performance wise, assuming that's what you're asking… it's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison once you dive in to all works behind the scenes. Extremely difficult to dial in any given game to be running the same under the hood settings on a PC as they do a PS5. From the consensus we can gather from people much smarter than us with a lot more time to look in to it, it seems P55 'performance' lands around the 4060Ti / 4070 range if we're being generous.

That said, features and functionality are much more limited. Game library is smaller and you don't get all the extra software / productivity capabilities of a PC… so much more than just performance to consider anyway. Not to mention the average cost of games on a console is typically much higher (which is how Sony subsidize their hardware, and make all their money on the back end with PS Pro subscriptions and fat cuts of all game sales) so any money saved up front is probably lost on the long term in game purchases. Especially if you don't buy day one and wait for Steam sales ๐Ÿ’ธ

        • Yeah it's a tricky one and hard to answer in one sentence. But 100%, the PC option is a much better way to go, especially with Sony now releasing all their "exclusive" games on Steam. It's essentially a Playstation, an Xbox, and more all rolled into one, for as low as the cost of a PS5 Pro.

I'd recommend to anyone if you're thinking about getting a PS5 Pro, strongly consider one of these instead!

If you're going to do a head to head comparison with a certain $1148 deal, why not link to it too!? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/876360

    โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ˜

  • Hi, which cases have usb-c? Seems quite desirable now with all the usb-c hub built in monitor and KVM etc.

    • Of the cases in the options list, the MSI MAG Forge 321R and MSI MAG PANO M100R PZ cases both have Type-C front panel connectors and retain the gift card eligibility.

For non MSI cases, the NZXT H5 Flow, Montech Sky Two and Fractal North north all check the Type-C box.

      • Thanks, I have some more question please. Will the 7500F + 4070 Super be able to run game at 3440x1440 60fps? And a bit vague, but if I want to upgrade to Ryzen 9 and higher GPU and some 2nd SSD in future, will 750W be enough, since the focus here is upgradability?

        • No worries!

At those really high resolutions, the CPU won't be the limiting factor at all. All the bottleneck will be in the GPU. Of course every game is different and there's always a million different possible combination of graphics settings to consider, but if you're looking for a simple YES / NO answer, then it would be YES. With the big caveats of, (at the right graphics settings, with perhaps a few exceptions).

It's not a common resolution to find benchmark on GPU review websites, but if you look at the 4K performance of a RTX4070 Super here for example, you'll see on super demanding games like CyberPunk 2077 and Starfield 60FPS+ is achievable with DLSS enabled.

For gaming, no need to go past Ryzen 7 (best options being 7800X3D or 9800X3D depending on your budget). Only consider Ryzen 9 if you have heavily multi-threaded production workloads (video editing etc) to factor in.

Future GPUs might be quiet power hungry, so if you really wanted to leave your options as much as possible, upgrading to the 850w unit could be worthwhile long term, although 750W should still leave you with plenty of options to consider. SSDs don't use much power at all so they're less of a consideration either way.

          :)

  • Hmmm.. can't get the code to work

    • Strange! Just testing it now on our end and it works just fine. Can you shoot us a screenshot of your cart contents and the code you're trying to input to support [at] evatech.com.au ?

      • works on the base config, if I change the SSD to MSI 1TB SPatium M460 and the cooler to the Coreliquid A13 A240 Black CPU liquid Cooler , to try to get the $220 SUD steaem voucher..

the name of the order changes to Wraith - AMD Ryzen Custom Gaming PC (Modified) and the code doesn't work,

        • Just gave the exact same thing a try here and it seems to work. Very strange. Do you get an error message? Can you maybe clear cookies or try a different browser and try again? If you're logged in, maybe logging out and logging back in sometimes fixes strange bugs.

          • +2

@evatech: Hmmm… logged out then logged back in
            Even better now..
            Double discount!
My whole machine is quoted at $909.00 with the upgrades
Its going to the checkout… without any issues…
I can complete the order via Payid as proof if you would like!!

You might want to fix this before you get "ozbargained"

            • @Kelvin: Oh something is definitely not quiet right!

Have our web team in panic mode now looking into it ๐Ÿ˜…

All the tests we run our end can't replicate it though, very odd!

Can you PM us some details on what device & browser you're using? (and any plugins that might be effecting things that mess with JS and cookies?)

Update : Very rare combo edge case of factors for that one but we think the bug has been found and squashed! If anyone else finds any issues let us know :)

  • Let me just say I ordered from these guys last deal and I'm awaiting my PC which is being delivered shortly. I can vouch that the customer support is top notch and they do keep you updated with the progress of your PC built which is quite nice. I went with these guys because I wanted to make sure that the less "glamourous" components were pretty good which are usually skimped on for budget builds. I will let ya'll know when I get my PC for a proper review but so far have been very impressed. I will be back in Azeroth soon my friends, liberating Kaz Algar from the Nerubian menace.

    • +1

Thank you mate - you have been a great customer too!

Hopefully our PC will be the final tool you needed to overcome your enemies.

  • Nebula's Nova build seems better value at $1268…Ryzen 7 8700F + 4060ti. Only difference is 650W PSU versus 750W for this one.

    • +1

Not saying it's not good value from a pure CPU+GPU perspective if that's what you're after, but there are a ton of little differences across the board that all add up.

Basically everything listed in the dot points listed in the post above, from much lower end motherboard, slower ssd, lower airflow case with less fans, smaller cheaper cooler, higher latency ram, less RGB elements etc. From a pure all round hardware value perspective, they're probably around par, we're just offering a bit more of a higher end all round default specification that works out much cheaper than taking a Nebula offer and upgrading it to match.

      • Fair call, thanks for taking time to rationalise your offer.

    • +1

If you look at previous nebula deal, the one that gives you $225 USD steam card with 4070ti, it's about $200 cheaper then this one

  • Base motherboard is mentioned as MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi AM5 DDR5 Motherboard w/ WiFi 6E & BT5.2
When I clicked "info" button and scrolled down the info page, it has a spec table listing "B650M Gaming Wifi" instead…
    Mistake?

    • Oh thanks for catching that one! It's definitely the Plus model. We don't list or stock the non-plus. Must have been just a listing error. All fixed :)

      • +1

        Thanks! Noted =)
Tried with some upgrades (for example to 9600X) to match your previous deal… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/872534
That deal is $200 cheaper and comes with free SSD as well. FYI, new deal with similar component is $2598.

Would the previous deal come back? For Black Friday perhaps?

That deal was $200 cheaper. And comes with free SSD.
Real difference is the GPU is slightly more expensive on this deal, but doesn't justify $200 more =)

        • Unfortunately that previous deal had some back end vendor support that ended and the Aussie dollar has dropped off a cliff (-5%'ish) since then, making all re-stocks more expensive. That said, shoot us an email with the full spec you're looking at there ([email protected]) and we'll do our best!

          • @evatech: Will get in touch as well. With a few changes the previous might be right for me as well.

  • If I purchase the OEM version of Windows Home for $175, will it come pre-installed with all configuration tests done? This will be my son's first PC.
I can collect the pc as I live in 10mins away from your business. Will the headset be given upon collection of my pc? Thanks.

    • Yes, Windows is pre-installed, activated and ready to go out of the box with all the latest drivers and updates! All systems regardless of whether or not an operating system is selected go through the same process as part of our very thorough testing procedures.

The only difference is that if no operating system is selected, we format all the storage devices deleting everything just before we box it all up.

As for the headset offer, just mention it on pick up & you get it on the spot :)

  • Would this run MSFS 2024? Would it be ready by Dec 4th? I cant afford window's installed, will it be easy to install it from another source? The 32 GB ram RTX 4060 version.

    • MSFS 2024 @ 1080p with DLSS should run quiet well. At higher resolutions, you might want to consider a higher end GPU.

Installing Windows isn't too tricky. Just need a spare USB flash drive. Microsoft provide a 'Media Creation Tool' to help in the process and provide the images free for download on their website.

      https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/create-installatโ€ฆ

Once Windows is installed you'll need all the relevant drivers (motherboard and graphics card mostly!) which again isn't overly difficult. The MSI Center Live Update function will pull all the latest drivers for the motherboard, and all NVIDIA graphics card drivers can be found at https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

  • Anyone worked with other cases recently and have suggestions? Don't mind the Mag Pano but with a PC on the floor the panel low doesnt work.

Looking at the Antec C3 or C5, or go minimal and the Lian Li A3 (but then need to add more for fans)

  • Is there a reason for the default ram selected? There is a choice for 6400mhz ram for the same price.

    • +1

There's a bit more too it, but to put it as simply as possible, performance is a function of frequency x latency.

      6000MHz @ CL30 is basically the same performance as 6400MHz @ CL32.

  • -1

I appreciate the deal but why are the builds so over the top aesthetically? Also why isn't energy efficiency prioritised? The RGB looks tacky and kind of suggests you all did not prioritise cost efficiency or energy efficiency (which goes hand in hand with performance) or aesthetics. If you don't care for the environment or aesthetics I think you will lose customers. Also could you all make a more compact and energy efficient setup without sacrificing on profit margins? The case is straight up ugly and chunky. Nevertheless, since this place is a way to get the most cost efficient computing power possible I will probably get this deal and turn off the RGB, not a good look though IMO for all prebuilt desktop companies not just you all. I think if you innovate by doing these extremely simple things and putting thought into your designs (KISS, keep it simple by making it all black) you will gain significantly more customers!

    • +1

Can the ridiculous RGB lights be turned off completely? This'll be a dealbreaker for me.

      • +1

Yes, all lighting can be disabled in software (MSI Mystic Light via MSI Center available in the Microsoft App Store).

The RGB is built in to the fans and each come with a separate power and A-RGB cable. You can also go so far as to disconnect the ARGB cables on each fan and the fans will work perfectly fine just without any lighting. That said, you might want to consider the Corsair 3000D or 4000D Airflow chassis options instead as they don't include any built in RGB fans at all.

The only RGB element that you can't just completely physically disconnect is the lighting on the RAM modules. These can still be turned off in software via the Mystic Light function mentioned above, but they may turn back on each the system boots up just temporarily for a few seconds until Windows has loaded, the software kicks in and disables them again. If you really really want to avoid any RGB lighting whatsoever, feel free to reach out to us via email ([email protected]) and I'm sure we can source some alternative non-RGB lit RAM for you if you did want to place an order.

        • -1

          Thank you for showing initiative.

  • I finally pulled the trigger today and made some upgrades to claim the USD 225 Steam gift card. But I'm still wondering, since my son mostly plays Roblox, Fortnite, or Valorant, and I'm into simulation games like Planet Coaster or Mount & Blade occasionally, if the specs are overkill for that? My order number is TWPJMVPHS."

    • +1

Your son is going to be very impressed! It's somewhat subjective but the GPU might be a little 'overkill' for some of those less demanding games. That said, having a little more horsepower than you need is always better than not quiet enough and there's always the next big game right around the corner that could very well make full use of it and then some.

  • Do I only need to change the CPU cooler to an MSI one in order to get the $225 Steam card? and in a build like this would a liquid cooler even make a difference?

    • +1

And the SSD. $120 extra AUD in parts for a $105US ($160au) increase in steam card

I don't think personally an AIO does much at all, but I'd probably upgrade to a tower cooler such as the thermal right at a minimum if I was doing my own build. Which then reduces the upgrade price to the AIO and makes the steam card increase better value

  • +1

How can I buy this build without GPU? I don't need gpu

    • Hit us up via the contact form on our website and we'll see what we can offer! Note however, as per MSI's T&Cs, there is no steam gift card eligibility without a GPU.

  • Do you anticipate the "MSI MAG CoreLiquid A13" cooler coming back into stock before the deal ends? Was ready to order until I ran into that.

    • Sorry, next shipment isn't due to arrive until after the promo period ends :(

      • Ah damn. Can you guys offer anything similarly priced from MSI? Otherwise it costs a lot more to get a MSI branded cooler for the Steam deal.

If not, what's the alternative you'd recommend?

Prefer you guys over the other guys given you're local to me and I can pick up!

        • Sorry, there is the M240 alternative that is similarly priced but it too is sold out and in the same shipment as the A13 restock.

Unfortunately all the other MSI coolers are on the much more premium end of things and considerably more expensive. If we can source some of the A13 or M240 quicker we'll be sure to update the listing and allow orders but it's a long shot at this stage.

          • @evatech: Thanks for the reply.

With the MSI cooler out of stock, what would you recommend in the options remaining (looking at the 9900X)?
With your house brand FX240 Blackout coolers, are you able to tell us who they're manufactured by?

            • @JR63: The remaining more expensive MSI liquid cooler might be still pretty good value when you factor in the additional steam gift card value you're eligible for, otherwise the FX240 is a great option for the price. I believe our FX240 coolers are made by ID-Cooling who is the OEM for several other major brands also.

            • @JR63: Id consider just sticking with the $120US steam gift card and not upgrading the cooler or SSD. (So save $120AU)

Then just buy a Thermalright Phantom spirit for $55 if you want to upgrade the cooler?

              • @kulprit: Yeah, I might just end up sticking with the default cooler and then upgrade it myself (either AIO or air cooler).

                • @JR63: Yeah once you can't get the cheaper AIO I think the upgraded steam card probably isn't worth it?

                  • @kulprit: Agreed. Also means I don't need to limit myself to MSI cases.

                    • @JR63: Yeah good point. As long as you do the SSD $30 upgrade to the M460 you get the case to whatever you like.

  • Pulled the trigger on an order. Overshot what I needed, but doesn't hurt to future proof a bit.

    • Awesome. What did you end up deciding on?

      • Went for more of a workstation bias with some gaming ability.
        9900X
        4070 Super
        32GB RAM
        1TB
Fractal Design North + 750W Gold PSU

Went with the default cooler, and plan to upgrade it myself.

        • +1

Wow that's some great upgrades. Congrats and enjoy.

  • Hey there!

I just wanted to quickly ask how many fans the base chassis has? (Not including the GPU and PSU fans)

Just asking as the image shows 4 total but that can be misleading

    • All four fans in the photo are included with the base M100R chassis :)

  • I purchased the ultimate tier recently with the B650M Gaming Plus motherboard. I am trying to register my product on the MSI website by finding the serial number and CHK. Did the store send that in somewhere or do I have to look through each parts to the numbers? In particular, where exactly is the other SDD card? I purchased 2 SDD and I cannot find the other one? Is it underneath the GPU??

    • MSI don't do a great job of making it clear but there's a redemption form for the steam gift card promo in particular that doesn't require any serial numbers!

You also don't need to register the components for warranty purposes either as some customers have been lead to believe, that all goes through us as the retailer!

      • Obviously the serial numbers are on all the items anyway? Just easier from the boxes? I think some other MSI promos currently do need the registered item to redeem? (The shout out one)

        • +1

Serial numbers are on the packaging, but anything that also has a CHK is only on the product itself, which is done by MSI in an effort to stop people from just claiming any promos by snapping a photo of the retail packaging in a store for instance.

Serial numbers are absolutely on the products itself, but many of them are very difficult or perhaps impossible (without some disassembly) to see once in an assembled PC.

Thankfully, for the purpose of the promos in our OP, it's not necessary to go digging for them.

PS. Our invoice (which you need for the MSI Steam gift card redemption) provides redemption instructions, specifically mentioning that registering each and every product isn't necessary. Just trying to help where we can!

      • Well Thank you for reassurance! I managed to get 5/6 registered. Submitted the form and waiting for the code I guess.

  • Hi Evatech, would you please be able to provide an update on current backlogs? Can see that you've edited the post to include that you are no longer promoting steam gift card due to order queue. Is the estimate of 7-10 business days still accurate? I ordered 10 calendar days ago on a system that said 5-10 business days but the status still says awaiting available technician, which makes me think its still got a fair ways to go.
Understand that you guys are flat out over Black Friday but would appreciate a response to be able to manage my expectations. Very very excited as this is my first ever Gaming PC!

    • Doing our absolute best, including nights and weekends! We're trying to keep the advertised lead times as accurate as possible, but it's still just an estimate.

We do track order dispatch deadlines in our queue and we do not at this point in time have any that are projected to slip their original 10 business day deadline. If you want to PM us your order number we can try and give you a better estimate of specifically when your order might be due.

      • Legends and godspeed! Have sent you a PM

        • aaaand replied!

  • If I purchase tomorrow, am I able to get this before the 15th of December? I am in the Gold Coast.

    • Sorry :( wish we could, but can't guarantee it at this stage.

We have people working around the clock, 7 days a week, yet with the number of orders we're getting hit with this time of year we can't even say it's likely.

Depending on how many orders come in between now and when you place yours, at best it's 50/50.

      • Thatโ€™s unfortunate. I was hoping to purchase it this time, but I guess Iโ€™ll have to wait for the next deal. Thank you for your kind response.

  • Hey @evatech if pickup is selected is steam gift card available along with the headset? Thanks

    • Headset yes!

Steam gift card, not guaranteed =[

While not impossible, at this stage given how many orders there are in the queue… there's a decent possibility it won't be ready in time to collect and redeem the offer via MSI before the redemption form is closed on December 15th.

We're doing our very best but it's really 50/50 at this stage.

      • All good - cheers for the saturday response much appreciated!

Regarding Steam gift card redemption via MSI

We have been made aware that some customers were being asked for more information from MSI, specifically regarding requiring that we (Evatech) provide the Steam gift card value on the invoice. Sadly, we weren't informed of this requirement when setting up to be included as a participant for this MSI offer, and we know many customers we able to claim without the dollar value shown so we had no reason to believe there was any issue. We're not entirely sure why there has this sudden moving of the goalposts - and why it wouldn't be communicated directly with us instead of individual customers.
But, of course, we've got no issues in complying so that our customers can extract the full value for their orders!

For anyone that accessed their invoice via our website before we had a chance to fix them up (late last week) & already submitted the claim to MSI with said invoice, you may well be knocked back by MSI temporarily, rest assured the valid invoice should already be accessible again via your account with the dollar value shown in plain text for you to see too.

This should do the trick, and we're again aware of many customers who have had success with this type of invoice.

If you cannot see the MSI gift card value on your invoice and believe you're eligible, please kindly get in contact with us ASAP ensuring you quote your order reference to us so we can look into it and advise you accordingly.

As a friendly but firm reminder, your valid MSI redemption must be submitted no later than the 15th of December (this coming Sunday), there is no alternative offer or compensation if you do not to claim in time or after the deadline.
Remember: MSI is running the show regarding the Steam gift card redemption. Any and all questions beyond having a valid invoice from us should be directed to MSI!

    All the best!

    • thank you, was knocked back and resubmitted again. Hopefully no issues this time.

  • Also had to re-submit my redemption with the value of the redemption on the invoice, which I did on 5 December. Status is still marked as "Redeem qualification under reviewing". I know these things can take a while, anyone else still waiting or should I try to contact them to check?

  • looks like promotion already marked as expired however still had not receive the gift card despite resubmitting :(

    • Submission period would have been ended, but that doesn't mean you won't receive your gift card! They probably just need some more time to go through and process the submissions they already received.

I got knocked back as they didn't like "picutre of PC" - as I simply took photo of top of PC in box. (Submitted 6/12)
Knocked back on 10/12 and resubmitted photo on that day.

So have been speaking to Chat now:
