    Any deals?

    • +12

      No

      • +3

People just upvote because it's JB Hi-Fi

    • Asking the real question here. Ozb is just a message board these days.

      • -2

I mean with 25% off, I am sure you’ll find a good deal depending on what kind of tv you are after. You just need to put in a bit of effort and not wait to be spoon fed all the time.

        • +6

I think you're missing the point of why this site became so popular

          • -1

@adam149: It also has become on occassions what an individual wants to buy at that time and the cheapest they can find it as opposed to actually being a great deal.

  • +37

All the prices have been increased by circa 30% for example the 75” 90L was on sale last week for circa $2400, then went to a non sale price of $2899 a few days ago and now is up at $3499. Classic

    • +24

time to join the class action lawsuit with coles and woolies

      • How do we tag ACCC?

    • Saw that as well. Was keeping an eye on the 75" X90L and JB, Good Guys and a couple of others all price jacked a few days ago.

You'd think after the publicity around the supermarkets they wouldn't make it so obvious still lol

    • Yes they increase the price and then say 25% off.

    • This one maybe a deal Harvey $6746 so if you price match and apply 25% then its good $5059.5 and more discount if you have gift cards

      • Would you buy the sony90L 98 over the TCL c855? I’m looking to upgrade from a Sony x9500h and not sure if the 90L is worth it 😅

        • +1

x95 series was a top tier model so you probably won't get any noticeable increase in performance by going with a x90 model, you should be looking at Bravia 7 and up in Sony. Best to compare picture quality in store to see if worth the $$. TCL 855 gets much brighter if that's what you're looking for, but I'm not sure how motion processing compares to current Sony.

98" X90L is 6746.25 after discount which is decent

    • +1

Already got better price than 6746.25 Harvey $6746 so if you price match and apply 25% then its good $5059.5 and more discount if you have gift cards

      • Wow thats even better. Im doing that - got a $1200 giftcard from the phone port in deal brings it down to $3800. TCL prices for a sony tv.

I managed to pick up a Sony A80L 77" from JB just last month for $2853, otherwise I'd be all over this!

    • Nice, how??

      • Was a one off display unit in store. It was marked $5500 with 25% off TV's and then another 25% or so off this one unit, and then I purchased giftcards from Bupa while instore for a further 4.5%. Was only kind of in the market for a TV but jumped at this when I saw it!

        • +1

I would never buy a display model OLED TV lol

          • +1

@Nathw: I'd agree, but 2013 onwards, OLED has a lifespan of 100,000 hours. An Oled running 9-5 x 356 days 2,848 hours a year, run out demo TV's would only be around 1 or 2 year old still has 30+ years of life left.

    • +2

      Thats a steal!

    • Did you get it in store? And a display stock?

      • Yeah one off display unit at JB Highpoint.

    • +15

      Stupid statement

Some people prefer to buy decenet tvs for a number of reasons as they notice the difference between dirt cheap generic tvs. Some reasons are HDR, Upscailing and motion processing, 144Hz for gaming OLED tech etc.

    • +2

      Ignorance is bliss.

    • Yes all TVs are the same /s

    • +3

what tv manufacturers don’t want you to know is that it is cheaper to buy a 32” tv and just sit right in front of it. Feels like a 100” for 10% of the price..

      • +1

        You forgot the /s

  • I guess its still worth it if you want to buy now to secure stock and use price guarantee when price drops for black friday. I already bought last week when was cheaper though.

Also if you're considering JB over Sony eBay box damaged just be mindful you might still end up with an 'inspected' damaged carton from JB like I did 🙄

What models are the mid and top tier choice from Sony this year? Looking for a 65".

Are there still any PS5 bundle deals this time of the year?

    • Bravia 7 is mid tier, Mini LED
Bravia 8 is mid tier, OLED
Bravia 9 is top tier, Mini LED

A95L from last year is meant to carry over to this year as their top tier OLED but I don't think there's stock anywhere.

Haven't seen any PS5 bundles this year.

  • The minister of war and infrastructure maniacally laughed at the proposal to upgrade from our 55inch Sony A80J.

My code for anyone who needs it 92G065S7FVZ2FL

  • Sony 85" BRAVIA 9 4K HDR Mini LED Google TV (2024) $5996.25 good deal?

  • I joined Perks, but never received this kind of unique code

Downvoting because of JB’s price jacking.

  • Comparing Bravia 7 75" Australia vs USA currently

    Australia
    JB HI-FI after 25% discount: 3,371 AUD

    USA
    Costco $1,599 USD x 1.55 = 2,478 AUD
    https://slickdeals.net/f/17874465-sony-75-class-bravia-7-ser…

    30.5% difference or $893 AUD

General Estimate: On average, TVs in Australia can be around 10% to 20% more expensive than their U.S. counterparts, though the exact difference varies by brand, model, and retailer.
High-End Models: For premium or large TVs, the difference can sometimes exceed 20%.

    • +1

It’s ok they’ll be no more price differences once trump puts in the 20% tariffs 💪

    • Keep in mind in the USA they add the sales tax on top of the price at the counter. Different States have different taxes. Also, the basic wage is much lower than the Australian basic wage.

  • feeling last time (2022ish) i ordered a x90 65 inch of SONY TV it was less $1600. We cann't go back to history can we?
