Every year the same 2K price for the X3800H. It is a regular event now, probably from the distributor as a bunch of sellers have it, and not a real competetive discount.
Show us some real competition and drop the price by a few hundred more for this oldish model. And I will finally jump the gun.

Nice price on the Denon AVC-X3800H AV Receiver, especially for Audyssey 32 config at home.

Sweet prices on the Polk R200s, never seen them that low and hard to get below $1100 when not on sale.

    • +1

The deals on the Polk Reserve series are the best we've every done or seen by far.
Can put together a very good package with those at the moment and one of these AV Receivers or Integrated Amplifiers.

I still have my X3400h from 2018 via Amazon.de which was about $860….although that price had no GST (or warranty).

Those were the good old days.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/379357

Best they are doing these days is €832 which is about $1500 imported. https://de.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B0BDZXLP6F?context=se…

      Still not bad

    • Does the EU voltage work in Australia?

      • Yes, it has working rights here. But it may also be abused on some farms and hospitality like the rest of EU workers :-)

        They are the same ;-)

    • Did you forget GST import fees?

      I just went to checkout

      AUD 1,758.42

For the extra $240 i think the Australian warranty, short delivery time and Australian support if something goes wrong is well worth it

      • I didn't, so yes a bit more expensive, but my example was the previous low of €830 not the current €899.

Maybe that would be a $360 saving. I predict we might see some better prices from Amazon.de soon.

  • Is this Denon a reasonable step up from a Yamaha vsx-930 7.1? And best bang for buck in this price range?

I've only got a small open plan lounge room, but been wanting to move from 7.1 to 9.1. I've got 4 in-ceiling speakers at the appropriate spots according to the Dolby setup guides. Don't actually have rear speakers at the moment though, so the back 2 of the ceiling ones are playing that role. But when I do get a 9.1 capable device I'll be getting those cable runs done.

    • no clue about those models

I've went from an Yamaha RX-V6A to a Denon X1800H

cant really say if there's any audio difference since I've also replaced all the speakers (moved countries)

but one thing I will say - the Denon is bullet proof in regards to eARC and communication with my TCL TV. The Yamaha and a Sony TV I had never talked properly, eARC, HDMI, everything had bugs (ended up using an optical cable…), the thing would turn on and off by itself like it was hunted, etc etc

The Denon AVC-X3800h would be a significant upgrade to the VSX-930 in every way.
Sound quality, features, music streaming etc.

Though that may be a Pioneer and not a Yamaha model?

      • Ah yeah. Oops. My old old receiver was a Yamaha.

      • Cheers. Bought.

I see the UB9000 is on sale for $1669. I want it.

    When does your sale finish?

    • +1

3rd of December or if stock runs out sooner

  • Nice prices on the SVS subs, my pre-order SB2000 was $950 just over 10 years ago, so $1099 beats inflation!

(Note: The link above for the SB2000 says $1199 but the website says $1099)

  • Tempted by the pre outs

  • These Denon 'deals' are pretty poor IMHO - good receivers obviously, but it reeks of resale price maintenance by Denon, where prices are on 'sale' in absolute lockstep across the country.

Their Australian pricing has some pretty wild variations compared to the US/UK, too, e.g. the 3800 is hugely more expensive than the 2800 here but only a tiny bit more expensive in the US.
