At some properties you have to copay a small amount. You sure it wasn't one of those?

        • +7

I don't see how they his the cost when it was shown to you in the booking. Small print is something else.

If you wanted a free night, you should have stayed at a cheaper or eligible free hotel. I have had Accor plus for years now and always aware if there is a copayment or completely free

          • -2

@abs898: This was an Accor charge for a Stay Plus. How is this free? And why not get back to me to explain? I'm a paying customer.

        • Most likely your room isn't the cheapest room. So you have to pay the difference. Also, the room is for 2 persons occupancy for Australia (some Japan hotel has additional persons fee from 2nd person), there will extra person above 2 persons.

    • I took this deal up last time and it worked great. I know there were some places that were completely complimentary and some that you had to pay a little extra as well, unsure if this was the case for you though!

  • How does this pair with ALL status? Apart from the food discounts and the one night "Free"?

    • -1

You get Accor Silver with your ALL status till Nov 2025.

Or you can do a sneaky combine with 2 Accor Plus accounts to a Gold ALL status ;)

      • Wait that works? Seriously?

      • +1

wait how do you combine to accounts? my renewal is only due in march & they are refusing my request for for early renewal.

      • how to combine account?

      • How?

  • +2

Annoyingly, $319.01 if you have a current, but lapsed, membership.

Would be nice to continue that one to keep adding to the points etc

  • Is this for new members only or open to existing members?

    Nvm, found the t&cs

The introductory offer of 40% discount on an Accor Plus 12-month membership is applicable for first purchases as new Accor Plus members only.

    • From the terms and conditions:

The introductory offer of 40% discount on an Accor Plus 12-month membership is applicable for first purchases as new Accor Plus members only.

Doesn't mean that you can't find some way to finesse it but there's nothing to stop them from cancelling it as a violation of their T&C's.

  • +4

The "Discovery" membership isn't listed as an option on the signup screen, but comes up once you click "become a member".

If you're wondering if Discovery is worth it - TLDR: Yes most likely, but only if you plan to cruise somewhere in the world in the next 12 months.

It comes with a Buy-One-Get-One-Half-Off certificate that can offer enormous savings. I just used it to save over $2500 off the listed price (from the cruiseline and other agencies) for a Princess Mediterranean cruise. Most cruises seem to be eligible to use this voucher.
The big downside is that they are a travel agent, with a fairly useless overseas call centre that you have to use to make the booking. They also apply a $275pp cancellation/rebooking fee. So again, it's a great deal if you're very confident you plan to use it with a low chance of changing plans.

The "Discovery Dollars" thing, is ok, but not significant enough to justify the additional hassle. Other benefits are also pretty mid.

  • Is the complimentary night able to be taken by itself, or is it a case of needing to book (eg) at least 2 nights?

    • +2

can be taken on its own for a one night stay :)

    • +1

conditions "Stay Plus is applicable with a minimum stay of 3 consecutive nights." for some places..

Shows $319 when I click the $239 Explorer Option. Did anyone also get this?

    • Dont click through, scroll down and you will see the link

  • +2

Mine shows 319 too when click on become a member and select the explorer tier. …

  • Whats Elite status? All I can see is Class/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Diamond

    https://all.accor.com/loyalty-program/cards-status-benefits-…

    • You get silver as well as 20 status nights
Gold is at 30 nights, so you only need an additional 10 nights of stays to make gold

Silver is better than nothing but don't expect much from Silver

      • +2

Yes but people have to remember that status nights reset every 1 January, so if signing up for this deal in November, they have to ensure they have 10 days before the new year to get Gold.

        • If I already have 8 status nights and purchase Plus, I would be at 28 with two required before the end of the year for gold correct?

  • +1

mine shows as well $319, never had a paid membership, but have a free account, which is required for wi-fi in some of their hotels (Mercure Gold Coast, for example)

  • Looks like Accor IT department continue to be truly incapable - when you clicked through it only gives 20% - assume it will be corrected soon

    • Whist I agree they are incompetent see above comments about the different pricing for lapsed members. On chat to them now trying to get the to honour the lower pricing.

      • Nope, had no idea about the promo pricing. I expected too much it seems.

  • How does this compare with the Accor discount singing up from a Phillippines account?

  • +1

"At this time, the promotion is not available. Kindly check back later tomorrow."

  • When does the 50% offer come up?

    • +2

      Feb 14 historically

  • How do you cancel this membership as you approach the end of the membership?

    • +1

Can't seem to find it on the website but I remember reading a comment saying that no payment details are saved so it shouldn't automatically renew

    • +1

you can chat with customer service to cancel auto renewal
to play safe also good to remove any payment details in your profile

    • +2

Untick the auto-renewal box in your profile.

  • Any Accor Plus/ ALL experts, looking for your assistance.

Bought A+ in February this year, received the 20 nights and Silver status. Jumped on the 'Stay 3 consecutive nights, get 30 nights status' promo in June/July, which helped me get Gold. Have now just completed a 60th night and achieved Plat status.

However, my Plat status expires on 28 Feb, when I thought I'd have that for 12 months :( Is it correct that if I renew A+ in Feb 2025, I'll be able to extend Plat status to Dec 2025? If not, any ideas on what will happen?

    • +3

Since you have achieve 60 nights in 2024 (calendar year)
If you decided to renew your A+ in 2025 Feb, then your platinum status will last till 2026 Feb
If you decided not to renew your A+, then your platinum status will last till end of 2025 (31 Dec)

    • +1

If you don't renew, you will remain as Plat as of Dec 2025, but there would be no hot room and 1 person for dining free after Feb 2025.
If you renew on Feb 2025, your Plat status plus the A+ benifits will extend to Feb 2026.

    • +2

Well done on the status run :)

    • thank you @littlesoldier @iwantfly for the explanation, much clearer than what I've picked up before. Appreciate it! And cheers @starburstyellow :)

Observation on the website, the deal takes you to a page ending in bc=32, this comes to $319
I tried a few different numbers and found bc=36 gets the price down to $279.

Anyone keen to find the magic number for $239?

    • yeah I'm getting the same issue? How are people seeing $239?

    • Shows up as 239.40 for me but I've never signed up to Accor plus before

    • Edit: don't worry, I was looking at traveller instead of explorer

    • So i just used 36 in the url and somehow ended up with a price of $235 as i went through the checkout. Completed the payment as i was happy to renew at that price as it gets me to gold this side of the new year. I then got emailed an invoice for $389 and thats what has been charged to my card… Now to go through their customer support merry go round to try and get a resolution…

  • +1

When clicking through to purchase the page changes from $239 to $319 for me as well. I’ve never held Accor plus

  • With VPN, PH site still cheaper at 7920 PHP

    • What link did you follow to see this price? I'm seeing 8415 php?

        • Yes, click through the ozbargain link, and change to ph

        • Thanks but strangely im still seeing the higher price of 8415. I'm using a VPN for PH and incognito browser. Any further clues or am I an anomaly?

          • @BargainLuver: Were you an accorplus member previously? The lower rate could be only for new members. Might wanna use a new account.

the process I followed were. Click through to the link in ozbargain.

manually change the region by typing ph instead of au in the url bar.

scroll down and you should see EXPLORER – PHP 7,920 – Includes 1 Stay Plus complimentary night

  • Good deal!
Do you also get 5000 Qantas points if you have Qantas business account?

  • +1

Is this typically worth it? I usually get lower rates through OTAs, so the main perks for me would be 50% off dining and 1 free night.

I have 7 nights booked at Sofitel over Xmas. Since I've already booked, I don't image this would benefit me all too much, right?

    • If you book through an OTA you will not earn points or get the welcome drink. I still have it though as the free night and 50% off food is worth it.

    • It's definitely worth it if you're planning to do at least a week of travel each year.

I signed up in Feb this year when the deal was $199 for Explorer, immediately saved about $400 on just booking a 4 night stay in Singapore using the Stay Plus benefit.

Then proceeded to book another 2 weeks in Thailand and saved around $200 more due to the extra 10% discount from Silver membership compared to the free membership.

Then 6 months later ended up getting one of their Red Hot Rooms deals in Melbourne for 5 nights which was over $200 cheaper and included free breakfast. Doubled this win as well because I was able to get a second room for a mate of mine using my membership and the exact same deal. As I'd already reached Gold status by this point, the hotel also upgraded my room which was worth probably another $200.

To top this off, you've got all the food and drink discounts which add up to a fair bit as well. My mate and I found most of the restaurants are actually pretty good, and when you factor in the 50% discount you receive on food, it adds up to quite a saving.

I've saved easily over a grand on this membership in the past year.

If you took out the membership now, you should be able to get those 7 nights counted towards your status which would put you only 3 nights away from Gold. At Gold membership, you get (subject to availability) free early check in or free late check out + upgrade to next room category.

  • @kc7 might want to update the deal. I confirm I've signed up with tunnel bear for 7,920 PHP. That works out to be ~$30 cheaper

    • How do we do this?

Do we need a new account if we were previous members?

  • $237.77 for me.

  • All those that were getting $319 for whatever reason it's now coming up as $235 for me, maybe they fixed something?
