      RRP is $399
With 1 complimentary night valued up to $450

        • +59

You sound unsure so allow me to elaborate

          $199 is less than $399

          • +3

@beltdrive: We’ll need to wait a couple of hours at least before that sinks in LOL

            @beltdrive:

            $199 is less than $399

There was no mention of $399 when I commented…

@jv: I think it's become cool to use you as the scapegoat on Ozb. It's obviously a reasonable question, hence the edit to the title (50% off)

hence the edit to the title (50% off)

Yep, originally there was no mention of any discount or saving…

  • I complimentary night for 1 adult or 1 room?

    • +1

      1 room

    • +1

      2 adults

    • +35

      1 cup

    • Are there excluded room types, i.e. only base level rooms can be had for free?

      • +2

yeh, just base rooms are free, but you have the option to pay to upgrade to higher room categories. Also not all Accor hotels are included or they have blackout dates, e.g. I wanted to book a night stay at the Sofitel in Melbourne, but they were not included when trying to use the stay plus night.

  • Are the other benefits worth it? How hard is going to be to redeem the 1 night?

    • +9

50% off food if you bring a friend can be good if you're in a major city or eat out often.

Reduced room rates always seem competitive.

I managed to save myself $350+ recently booking a room in Sydney during Taylor Swift week (albeit only at the Ibis Styles).

For $200/year I think I'll jump on it again.

      • -2

Seems Asia is exempt from the restaurants which is a big hit for me.

        • Are you sure??

          • @Koipanda: It is not exempt.

            • @hypie: It's not exempt but a lot of places dont honour it and make excuses

              • +5

@abs898: I agree with that, always best to confirm with the restaurant. I was stung at the Sofitel Nusa Dua. One of the restaurants is considered a bar and therefore exempt… bs.

                • @hypie: Not a single one honoured in Seoul. Customer service just shrugged and I made them email one of the hotels to confirm why restaurant is notnincludedz they never responded lol

                  • +1

@abs898: Lol a common risk when going overseas, especially in Asia, is them just being like, "No we don't do that and we won't explain why", especially if there's a language barrier

                    • +1

                      @inconspicuous: Oh 100%> I wasn't pulling a Karen, I was genuinely curious why it wasn't honoured.

                • @hypie: Nice hotel though isn't it!

      • Just a word of warning, while the membership can offer quite a few deals on accommodation recently I've had a lot of issues with the dining benefit - discount not being applied or declined by staff.

And the bulk of the restaurants listed on their website offer a significantly lower discount than the stated 'Accor plus dining benefits rate of up to 50% for 2 people' and are not listed in the exceptions list on the website. For example:
SKYE Hong Kong IS listed as an exception offering: 25% off food for up to 8 people, and 15% off beverage
Yet, The Pavilion Hong Kong IS NOT listed as an exception yet only offers: 10% off food and 15% off beverages

        • +5

Which restaurants did you have trouble with? I live in Sydney and all restaurants so far honored the discount.

          • @Homr: Have you tried the Atelier By Sofitel? They are not on the exception list and not ob the restaurant list either.

            • @Holidaymaker: Yes i have, discount applies for that restaurant but i prefer the one at novotel

          • @Homr: Damn, just got back from Sydney - have they honored the full advertised discount? I was told by support when I queried it that "please contact the hotel in advance to check their level of participation for the dining discount", confirming that even if its not listed as an exception the stated discount is not always the deal offered.

Had issues with some in Hong Kong who declined, or only gave 10% off food for a table of 2. Then when back in Perth West Kitchen and Bar at the new Wonil hotel says is only 25% off for a table of 2 diners, then when we checked the price at home they hadn't given any discount.

            • @EG952: They're acting as if it's free advertising. So dishonest, and why should the patron pay the cost?

I'd contact them for my refund. If not forthcoming, go review them online.

            • +1

@EG952: I wonder if you could lodge a complaint with your states fair trading given the Accor+ is purchased in Australia.

            • @EG952: Where is this exception list and do you need to be staying at the hotel to receive the dining benefit?

  • +14

Warning: Popular hotels are blocked, or have additional fees/conditions. e.g. $100 supplement, 3 nights min. Check hotels of interest before considering purchase.

    • +2

      Where can you check?

    • +3

Book in advance you its usually not a problem.

    • +13

I got this deal last year and I used the free night at Sofitel Adelaide which is brand new, on a Saturday night for a swans crows game , the room was going for $350 and I paid no extra, and they upgraded my room also.

      • +1

Yeah its a pretty good deal. I am going to book the Sofitel in Bangkok. It is $300 a night. Going to stay for 3 nights so the price then works out to $200 a night.

    • It's definitely not as general as popular hotels. Do you mean there might be a few exceptions? They're only blocked if you don't give enough notice. I've stayed at Sofitel Darling Harbour for free.

    • +1

Rubbish. There are many popular hotels that are included. Sofitel, Peppers, Pullman, Swissotel are all included and will give you a free night without paying extra. It is easy to get a room worth more than $400- as your free night. I saved $500 using my complimentary voucher last year in a Peeprs Soul 3 bedroom apartment. Last the years prior i have used it at Sofitels in Brisbane, Broadbeach and Melbourne and this year we have Sydney.

  • What counts as a "stay plus" night? Looking to go Sydney later this year and a lot of the hotels on their list are $420+ so would be a good saving if I could use it for any of those hotels

    • +4

If you're booking well in advance and not on a public holiday you should be able to find decent availability.

    • +3

I saw the newish Sofitel Darling Harbour for $0 extra on a Saturday night you just have to book far enough ahead, it’s no different to jagging business class on an airline

    • +4

I just booked a night at Sydney Sofitel for October Labour day weekend (sun-mon). The Oct long weekend in sydney was not a blackout date! Winning

  • Great deal. I suspect they are trying to get back all the people that register via Fiji, Malaysia, etc.

    • +2

I heard that if you register from the Asian country, the cost is much much cheaper than here

      • +2

Yes, normally it is $399 here & $200-$280 overseas but this special makes it competitive here now.

        • Cool

      • +1

I did the HK one last year and renewal this year worked out at about $240, so this is better

    • Probably right although you'll go back to paying more again for following renewals.

  • Perfect timing - membership ending this month. Cheers OP.

    • +1

Me too, thanks OP - but I noticed the comment below that it is only for new members in the fine print…

        • Tell me more how?

  • Damn son

  • Far out, i just renewed 2 weeks ago

    • Same

    • like not for renewal for this price, only for new sign up.

  • Also get 20 staus nights with each renewal meaning you only need 40 nights to platinum instead of 60

    • Is that for a 12 month period? Do you lose it after 12 months?

      • It’s not a rolling 12 months they wipe you 31 December , I thought I was on track for platinum and missed out

        • Accor also calculates status on anniversary of renewal so if you dont meet your nights for platinum from jan to dec you may meet it on renewal eg mine is july to june

          • @shiningstars: Even though they wiped my stays?

          • @shiningstars: im definitely not staying 40 nights in a year, but getting platinum would be awesome. any work arounds or alternate methods to get platinum?
i don't travel for business, but i see that would be a lot easier to achieve if you do travel for work.

that is roughly staying 3.33333333333333333333333333333 nights per month to get platinum.

            or

10 nights per school holiday (after term 1 & 3 you only get 14 day holiday)

approximately 11 days off for holidays, but probably not available and no discount on food. :(

            • @Hugh G Rection: That's like $10k a year on just hotel accommodation…

At that point you may as well just rent an apartment in the EU or SEA for a few months

  • any deal for 2 free nights? or cheaper via Malaysia etc?

    • Also curious to know about this.

  • +3

If I join today, will I get instant access to the complimentary night? Looking to last minute book accom in Melb CBD and this looks perfect if it works.
EDIT: bit the bullet and yes you have access immediately upon signing up. Poor availability for upcoming weekend though :L

    • +5

Swifty in town this weekend. What do you think.

    • You're unlikely to be be able to get en eligible room this weekend at peak capacity, generally gotta book it a long time in advance or quiet times

  • +11
    • any difference in NZ and aus one?

    • I guess you need NZ postal address ?

      • +1

This offer is available to friends and family of Accor and Accor Plus employees who reside in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji only.

        Doesn't look like it

    • Great find!

    • +2

This worked, Sofitel Darling Harbour booked for July!

      It''s Tenacious D time!

      • wow thasts impressive. what day did you choose?

the sofitel is generally booked out and "blocked out"

        • +1

Friday, could have got Saturday as well

    • +1

Should we post this NZ deal then ?

    • How much cheaper does this work out in AUD? (plus cc fees I guess)

      • $12.92

    • +5

You won't get cashrewards going through NZ though ($12.93 cashback). Works out the same in the end.

      • Will we still get cashrewards using a referral link? The 2000 bonus accor rewards points for the referral are worth $65 each which is a lot more than the $12 you'll get back from cashrewards.
