Reolink has a black friday pre-offer on now where you pay $1 now to save $20 or pay $2 now to save $40. The coupon sent will only be usable between Nov 18 and Dec 2 2024 (as per the email from Reolink) but website says usable from 19 Nov.

Essentially you spend $3 and save $57. I am not aware if both coupons can be used at the same time in the cart (likely not), so worth considering breaking up the purchase into two lots or just buying one coupon.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

  • They are trying this strategy again I see.

Obtain interest and see how much to jack up prices during the sale?

Sounds like it. I the rep for reolink posted something like this a couple of months ago and it didn't go down too well.

        • I'm looking to get the argus pt ultra anyway, hoping the price during black friday will be lower-ish if not great

@soan papdi: I have a few reolink products (POE with an NVR) and I've been extremely happy with all their products.

Here's what one of the cameras captured in our roof space:

@Lizard Spock: Roof space is random, trying to spot criters or something?

@geekcohen: Deliberately for the pythons. This way I know what I'm dealing with before I go up there to relocate the. This was captured on a pan and tilt camera.

          • @soan papdi: argus pro 3 is garbage, hopefully the ultra works better for you

            • +1

@kamelataturd: FWIW the Argus 3 Ultra is good. People are always correct when they say that wifi cameras are far worse than PoE but if you need wireless, they're decent.

The system is far from bug free but compared to the Swann system I tried before this, which was more expensive and FAR less functional, it's good. I do miss a few nice-to-haves but overall I like the system enough not to return it in furious frustration like the Swann kit.

Given the price difference, is there any reason people buy from Reolink direct rather than via AliExpress, which are shipped from NSW, for a fraction of the price, especially after coins and coupon codes?

I see their RLK8 (2TB) NVR + 4 x 820A will be on sale for US$320 after $60 coupon, minus any further 11% if you have coins, so should end up less than AU$450 on AliExpress vs $734 via the Reolink website.

    • Was not aware this store also ships from NSW. Same warranty and so on?

      • I believe so. Also, for the example above, Reolink Direct seller is offering a further US $10 off once added to basket, and code REOLINK1695 takes another US$20 off via www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001631504351.html

By my count, once their 11.11 deals go live at 7pm, it will be US $366
        - 40.26 (if you buy from the Coins page and have sufficient coins - if not buy from the Shopback landing page so you can get their cashback)
        - 60.00 (code AU1190 from Ali)
        - 10.00 (seller discount in basket)
        - 20.00 (code REOLINK1695 from seller)
        = US$235.74 = AU$358.39

Not bad for 4 x (older) 8mp turret or bullet cams + 8 channel NVR with 2tb drive, all the moreso if it counts for the additional $25 AliExpress cashback at CashRewards www.ozbargain.com.au/node/876176 (Reolink Direct are an affiliated seller, albeit coupon codes are not listed on their pre-approved list, so you may be better off just using your usual CashRewards / Shopback referral link). Similar deals and discounts on other cams and NVRs…

Edit - Another cheap option is the 5mp version which drops to a base price of US$270 at 7pm via https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000727863806.html, but you'll have to use reduced value vouchers AU1165 for US$40 off $269+ and REOLINK1694 for $10 off $169+ in addition to reduced Coins and seller discount. Should still end up being sub AU$280. Ish…
