Just saw this pop up on Amazon. Managed to get an N95 mini pc for 100 bucks, worth a shot. Looks like this is one of the lowest prices ever.
RRP $299, $199 lightning deal + $100 coupon for $99 price tag.

EDIT: looks like sold out, congrats to those who managed to snag one!

  • wow, amazing deal. snagged. Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP, got one.

  • not working?

  • $153?

  • Not working for me!

Lmao, had it in my cart for 99. Sat for a second, googled how it went for games, then swapped it to be delivered to me rather than the missus (same address) and it became a 15% code.

Kinda glad, because half the reason I bought it was "at least when I'm bored of it CEX will probs give me the same back"

    • Same here… Added to cart, the next second, the cart was emptied.

      Buy first think later ;)

  • Perfect for a home lab/plex machine, low power and supports quicksync

  • Thanks OP, got one.

  • Deal is gone :(

Out of stock in 10 minutes?

      • +2

I believe the Amazon system doesn't allow it. It's up to the seller to remove an active coupon before a lightening deal commences. We should see a bunch more instances of this sort of thing coming into Black Friday, have in the past.

    • +2

Yeah, unfortunately looks like there were only a handful in stock.

      • Yeah, they sold all 3 units that were on special, same as last time ;-)

I think the mods might wish to consider banning these BOSGAME specials, as they always seem to have almost no stock.

It's another case of QuickDraw Bragin!

  • So bad luck, missed again as usual. Can N95 run any PC games?

    • Doom.

And I'm guessing you don't mean the 2016 reboot.

Still, this little PC may be a decent enough emulator box maybe for old 80's, 90s era games.

        • would be good for a homebuilt arcade machine

          • @perfectlydark: Homebuilt arcades don't have space issues so go for something bigger 👌

    • Makes a great retro / emulation box. Just drop Batocera on it.

  • I miss out, when i blink.
    sad

Damn, gotta be quick - that's the price point I was looking for for a simple Plex server (not transcoding).

  • +2

    Crazy good price.
This kind of price point gets rid of most Raspberry Pis - they don't come with a power adaptor and they use very niche ones (5v rail) too.

    • +1

Absolutely. Can't believe how cheap some of these mini PCs have gotten, whilst simultaneously Pi's are asking for more.

Any ideas if this is good for Plex?

    • +2

The specs are great for Plex, but this one is a bit over-priced.

      • What about Plex / CCTV combined?

I imagine a 4-8 cam setup demands a bit more resources than a single user Plex setup - but I speak with no firsthand knowledge so am just imagining…

    • wyse 5070 for $60 off ebay is what you need

  • Ouch

  • N95 would be better than Intel's 4000 or 6000 series?

Want to use it for game streaming mostly.

    • Similar to an 8th gen i5

  • +1

    Damn, missing this hurts

  • Damn this hurts as mentioned above
I wasn't on my BOSGAME today

  • So I was just setting up this box (after adding a second NIC)

The NIC shows up as a Intel i226v in OPNSense but the mac address doesnt match that.

Looks like these guys are putting dodgy NIC's in them. For the ones that want to play the game, MAC starts with 84:47:09:

Here is the output from OPNSense

    Valid interfaces are:

    igc0 1c:fd:08:xxxxxxx Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I226-V
    igc1 84:47:09:xx:xxxxx Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I226-V

A quick OUI lookup comes up with

Shenzhen IP3 Century Intelligent Technology CO.,Ltd
    Address
    [email protected]
    Shenzhen 518057
    CN
    Range
    84:47:09:00:00:00 - 84:47:09:FF:FF:FF

For the record, my second NIC which is also supposed to be a 2.5GBE i226 card, is also fake.
