So I'm not going to be abroad for few months. I can just activate this without giving out my credit card details so my number remains active for when I return but I don't get charged anything after the first month right?
I haven't used Lebara. From their T&Cs, if you don't store your payment card details, it should not automatically recharge. However you can opt-out of automatic recharge if it has been turned on.
Automatic Recharge
You can opt into Automatic Recharge when you activate your plan
or anytime using My Lebara account. The plan you will be
automatically recharged on will be the same plan as your most
recent recharge.
Automatic Recharge will only be turned on by default if you have
provided your payment card details to pre-authorise your purchase
or if you have stored your payment details and you did not opt out.
You can opt-out at any time via your My Lebara account.

Thanks. I might get this one and just use one time credit card from revolut if it asks me.
use one time credit card from revolut
Minimise risk of credit-card scam considerations…limit the distribution of your MAIN credit-card details.
1.Use Paypal, if available.
2.Create a 2nd bank account (debit card) with credit-card features & top-up when needed. Use its credit-card when needed.
Homework: make sure your bank-accounts ( MAIN & 2nd account) have Osko-instant-payments.
Feel free to share alternatives ?
so my number remains active for when I return
Consider contacting Lebara to find how long they're going to reserve your #, & hence not be allocated to someone else 😱
Don't assume anything: they all have different rules, different processes etc
How long do we have to activate this Lebara Prepaid service? I would like to use it as emergency data for updates etc
The website says "Activate by 31/03/25". This would include the bonus data.

How long do we have to activate this Lebara Prepaid service?
If you want NO-risk, then activate by 31/03/25.
Background: I churn-sims monthly since adsl2+ was turn-off & Lebara 70Gb & 100Gb were my goto plans: NO-NBN & I make sure I have a few as spares for coming-months. I've 3 x 100Gb plans as back-up if Boost/Amaysim don't have money-back deals for Dec-24 & beyond. These Lebara were purchased in Dec-23 & I'm taking the risk & confident that they'll work.
Coles have these plan on sales via IN-store only from Wednesday: mostly NOT announce via weekly catalogue sales. They are always on PERIODIC-sales & plans on sales seems to be rotational: every few weeks (1 month max. ) the 100Gb comes up for sales & hence you must drop by your Coles-store to find out.
Simply put, if you want to hold only 1 sim as spare, then you must visit your Coles-store more often.
Coles sales seems to be STATE-base: whenever I see these on sale @ 1 store, I always see the same-plan also offer @ others: from Wed->Tues, matching their weekly-special cycle.
Thanks for the replies, So you can rejoin the same providers once every 3 months? join (for 1 month) then disconnect then reconnect in say a few months later and that has been accepted by ALL providers? Is it worth buying 3 lebaras and then 3 amaysims then 3 of some other ones and cycle the use every few months? with new numbers?
Your follow-up questions seem to expand from-> 'I would like to use it as emergency data for updates etc'
Pls advise your objective & circumstances..more detail is best ?
do they use and have access to the full Vodafone network
It depends on the plan. Lebara Mobile has full access to Vodafone's 5G coverage on select plans.
15GB Plan
You’ll access data on our 4G network.
Our Lebara plans are speed capped, which means your network speed is capped to a maximum speed of 150Mbps.100GB Plan
You’ll access data to use on our 4G or 5G network.
Our 5G network is rolling out to selected areas of major Australian cities. You can use your 5G approved device in a 5G coverage area.
Our Lebara plans are speed capped, which means your network speed is capped to a maximum speed of 150Mbps.
3/12 is not too bad, in the face of shall we say "limited" free/profit sim opportunities at the moment.
Word of caution though, non-advertised longer-than-a-week specials can be changed to end earlier without notice. Seen it happen already this month at Coles.
