Nothing more romantic than when a poo floats past.

        9 times out of 10 it's a Picnic bar.

        • +2

10 out of 10 times better than the shit that floated up in Sydney's beaches…

      • And that was the last time I went to a public pool! Seeing that floater next to me, then seeing that fkwit with his pants down in the deep end .. I raced to get assistance and the worker got a scooper and got the crap out. That memory will never leave me.

        • Should've pulled your pants down and joined in on the fun.

Save on TP and flushing water from not having to use the toilet.

would explain why ur single and your ex had 4 legs

These deals make Brisbane the 2nd low cost of living city according to the recent news lol

Most disgusting thing is swimming in public pools

    • +5

Drinking the pool water by the glass would be more disgusting

  • +4

comparing Brisbane vs Sydney, public service in Sydney is literally 5-10 times the cost.

  • Great initiative! Wish we had it here in VIC also

  • Four times the price of a public transport trip… too expensive!

    Laughs in home pool ownership

      Laughs at home pool maintenance

      • Takes barely any to keep my billabong sparkling…chuck the cleaner in once per week, empty the skimmer box afterwards. Check the water every couple of weeks. Value to effort ratio definitely skews favourable.

        • Fair enough. The owner before us filled the pool in as she couldn’t look after it. So technically we have most of a pool buried in our backyard.

@WhyAmICommenting: Couldn't live without mine, for my own & kids' enjoyment, especially in the Brisbane climate. Costs nothing to run as the pump & chlorinator are active during daylight hours & the solar powers everything inc. air conditioning.

      • +1

        Worth it!

Solar and robots do all the maintenance.

  • The conditions state:

Admission types included in the $2 Summer Dips initiative are:
    adult general entry
    child general entry
    concession general entry
3-person family pass (1 adult and 2 children)
4-person family pass (2 adults and 2 children)

Does this mean a 4-person family pass will be $2?

    • Would like to know too! wow

    • +1

      Wasn’t like that last year

  • Off topic, but my local pool just charged me $11 for a casual pool/sauna visit. For a council run pool I consider that highway robbery. Absolute rort.

    • It is expensive but sounds like "standard" price these days. Just casual pool entry is $8-9 in council run aquatic centres!

Don't.. It is already overly crowded…

    • “The parasite is resistant to certain types of chlorine, meaning just one case can infect an entire swimming pool of people.”

Thanks for ruining my summer lol

Hey, I might be saving it for you 😉

        • You may well, I’m not a fan of gastro - even less so than most people.

  • Great initiative! Wish we had it here in NSW also

The staff at my local council pool in Brisbane also said if you have existing visit passes they will extend the expiry date on them so you can use the $2 entry instead and save your prepurchased visits for when the promo ends. You just need to talk to the staff at the pool to get the extension on your account
