Vera Wang Wedgwood Chime Nouveau 16-Piece Cutlery Set $59 (Usually $299) + $9.95/$14.95 Delivery @ Royal Doulton Outlet

681

So I bought this a couple years ago from an OzBargain deal. I only bought 1 of these and have very quickly found that 4 forks is not enough. I've been hunting this set on sale for literally years since then. I randomly came across it again tonight.

I love the set, has great weight and looks very classy. I've topped up my drawer with another couple sets and here to share the love. Deal has been shared many times before on OzB but not since 2022.

A modern interpretation of classic elegance, the Chime Nouveau Collection by Vera Wang is characterised by simplicity and grace. Made from stainless steel and characterised by a large, weighty feel to each piece.

The set contains:

4 x Dinner Knife
4 x Dinner Fork
4 x Dessert Spoon
4 x Teaspoon

If you're like me and need all you're cutlery to be the same then get 2 sets at least. I've waited over 2 years for this set to come back on sale to top up

        • Go on sale every few months I post this as one of my first deal I own 6 set give the right amount for dish washer some nice one I own.

I just looked at when I last purchased these, it was February 2020 for $28.77 plus $9.95 shipping. Quality cutlery, it's got some nice weight to it. The butter knives annoy me because they don't fit in the dishwasher basket slots. Also, the BS rrp should be $199, not $299. $299 is too high, even for BS rrp.

Agree, really solid set. I've bent a hundred spoons in my life, digging into frozen ice cream. This set hasn't buckled yet after years of abuse.

$35-$44 should be the price to buy considered inflation ($39-$44 last year)

yep, same, I bought these when they were on sale for half the price they are now and 100% agree with the rrp, I even think the rrp should be sub $100. I think they advertise such a high rrp so when they advertise a price of 30% rrp, they sell like hotcakes. That said, its good quality, I personally don't have the issue with the knives and baskets, but you could lay them down with the utensils?

Looking at the pics, for people from South East Asia that eat with a fork and spoon, the smaller size of the dinner spoon compared to the fork would be annoying.

Been using spoon and fork mode with these for a long time. It's fine. You don't use them like chopsticks.

What business does this fashion designer have with cutlery?

She slapped her name on it and shared the profits oooohhh yeah baby

On 3-9-2021 I paid AUD$35.28 for this same set from the same website. Doesn't make this sooooo attractive now that I know. I'll HODL for BF.
    Thanks though op.

    • Glad I bought 4 sets when I did.

      • +1

Lucky you. Next time, i'm going to get 3 sets for sure, to supplement what I have, plus one to gift.

  • The knives are so heavy! The spoons are bigger than usual, my family avoids them.
The smaller spoon are a great size for school kids.

These are basic style and hideous. You get what you pay for.

  • If price wasnt an issue whats the most luxe cutlery set these days?

    • I like Christlofe. You could get solid silver for show, but I prefer Christlofe "Talisman"

      • Christofle?

          yes. Lexdysic.

      • those prices are insane!

    • I bought this Robert Welch set a few years ago and still love it: https://www.myer.com.au/p/robert-welch-radford-cutlery-set-4…

good weight, looks very classy and it's often half price (I paid about $300). I recommend going into Myer or DJs and checking out their cutlery sections - when I was in the market I picked up everything and tested how it felt first. some things really don't have a good hand feel!

  • Not even a tablespoon??

Thanks OP. Bought 2x for new place.

  • Nice sets, bought before at 30 odd. but do these things ever sell at RRP

  • so do we wait for the cheaper price which may never come or pull the trigger now.

  • Rrp is laughable. It's just a stainless steel cutlery 4 set. Now if it were royal doultin bunnykins….

I bought this set before when it was $28.77 and that's a far more plausible price for this very polished but very easily tarnished set of cutlery that's just too delicate and susceptible to tarnishing/scratching.

These utensils develop rust spots so easily compared to non-heavily polished ones, it's ridiculous. If any pieces of food get stuck on them for a little too long they end up leaving blemishes that require heavy scrubbing to remove which just scratches them to sh*t and takes the polish off.

Agreed these are bad and not worth ~$5pp
