Wtf. I’ll stick to my cheap ass POP keys

    • +2

You could've bought 40 Logitech POPs for the price of one of these.

  • +4

    is this real??

  • +6

Waiting for my $12 mech keyboard from AliExpress..

  • +2

I got my POP keys today in the mail

    • Same here lol. What a comparison 😂

  • Wow, what makes these worth $750?

    • +4

      "Gaming" lol

It would be double the price if they market it with "AI Gaming mechanical keyboard"

      • +4

Yeah if you buy this keyboard… who's gaming who?

      • Don't forget RGB, last decades AI ;-)

  • +2

    WTF?

    • +1

Those 3 keys alone are worth like $80

  • doesnt seem too special m8

  • Crazy…

  • Wtaf?

  • I'm so glad to pay $25 for the logitech mechanical keyboard earlier today.

  • WTF? It's not even a full keyboard.

  • +1

    Bwahhaahahaaaaahahaaaaaa

  • Seems nice. Maybe not $800 nice. There are two switch options, Snow and Storm. Wonder what the difference is. The Storm version is cheaper at Mwave.

    • Snow = Linear switch (Think fancy Cherry reds)
Storm = Clicky switch (Think fancy Cherry blues)

I briefly looked at this keyboard and it has a number of quality features, however I personally don't think ANY keyboard is worth $800.

      • Yeah, I'm not against paying a lot for a keyboard but $800 seems a bit excessive.

The keys do sound really nice in the unboxing video. If they got rid of that tiny screen that would probably knock at least $100 off. 1 year warranty is a bit of a worry. Would hate to have an LED die. Can you replace LEDs?

        • You can replace the switches, however I don't think you can replace the LEDs easily. You would probably need to desolder any dead ones from the mainboard and then solder on new ones.

          • @Melo: Sounds like way too much work, especially for someone who doesn't have the tools or the skills required.

  • The placement of that Delete key is a warcrime.

  • Does it type for you?

    • Does your taxes too

  • Maybe such a steal for Elon

    • -5

Yes. Thank you for reminding us. The convicted criminal will be gaoled this year, 2024.

    Thanks op
    bought 2

    $699 at Mwave:

    https://www.mwave.com.au/product/asus-rog-azoth-extreme-wire….

Bargain at this price I reckon.

    • +1

That's an ATL, however I'd probably pay the extra $50 for the snow switches if I was paying this much already.

    • +1

thats the ROG NX Mechanical Switch (Storm) thank you :)!!!!

My snow switch cost more to market :)!!! jks

  • +3

ROG products are all overpriced items.

    • Ive had a few motherboards and generally liked ROG stuff but recently I'm feeling a cringe factor and ROG is seeming cheesy AF.

  • same price as a 4070. nice.

    • id prob pick the 4070 over this keyboard

  • +2

Have the non pro version. Dont bother, Asus software is rubbish

  • I almost can't believe this is real.

  • If 75% extreme wireless is $749 I wonder how much for the 100% ultra wireless.

  • It's Asus' attempt at a gaming keyboard with custom keyboard features - screen, CF plate, hotswappability, metal build, pre-lubed stabs and switches - so they think they can charge $750 🤣 Sadly there'll be a few who'll bite, thinking you need to pay this exorbitant price to get all those features.

For those who aren't familar with custom mechs, you can get all the features of this keyboard (minus the unnecessary 8000Hz polling rate and crappy software), better build quality and better customisability for half the price.

  • The pro here is for those with more money than good and I definitely wouldnt call this a deal price, but the regular Azoth is pretty nice if you caught it on a sale, I didnt like playing the waiting game so copped a near new used for 190$, modded it a bit and it is definitely a great piece to use.

Like many other ROG stuff, fills a specific niche - you hardly get big name brands making keyboards that can be stripped down to a T and customised to your liking. And the quality & specs is definitely among top for a big brand name - among the leagues of Apex Pro, etc, and these arent cheap neither.

Sure, you can probably get something that offers a similiar set of features for cheaper, once you tap into that enthusiast-grade stuff, but thats different isnt it? Be it akko, keychron, or any of the myriad other brands, in the end they arent rog (which itself is then dwarf by something like logi and razer).

    • +1

keychron isn't even enthusiast now, it's the default option

literally every pc store sells it and they have booths at pax etc, it's as mainstream as peripherals get

      • Mate im sorry, they dont even have their own wikipedia page.

Ring me up when they are actually mainstream.

Ask any non pc savvy guy what keyboard would they buy for a kid, and let me know if they pick anything but logitech, razer or alienware

  • Wow that is extreme

  • Does not even have a numpad. So. They remove keys and call it gaming to charge exorbitant prices which only rich idiots would afford

  • +1

800 can get you a high end custom keyboard thats all real CNC metal. wtf is this pos
