The total price comes out to $824.85. It is an arm based laptop but it's quite a lot of laptop for the price. Very good battery life and great for general web browsing and basic laptop tasks.

OLED Screen + $100, 32GB RAM + $99, 1TB + $69

  • Looking for a decent work laptop.
What popular work programs can't run on ARM chips?

  • +6

Still not convinced with snapdragon in laptops so I will keep it at "Arm's" length for now.

    • Some people just need a laptop to browse Facebook n Instagram + watch Youtube.

      • Ya but that's not what they are marketing these as. They are like AI productivity machines, completely ignoring software compatibility issues.

        • +2

I disregard anything that says AI in it nowadays. Lazy marketing.

  • yeah this is like buying an Intel Arc

i feel like you'd be spending more time triaging software that doesnt work

    • +2

Intel arc was only an issue at first release, now my arc machines run better both $ to $ and against energy usage respectively?

  • +1

I'd probably add an extra $100 to upgrade to oled screen with touch.

    • I'd argue all the upgrades are worth it. Ram, SSD and screen.

  • There are an "army" of people out there hoping that these chips can work without software issues.
