its been on this price forever, standard price.

i've been tracking beelink proudcts for the past few months, basically amazon has been raising the price to
lets say currently it is 360 and amazon will provide a 110 coupon = 250 overall price
on prime day they'll offer discount for 250 and remove the coupon.

    • +5

Trick is to catch it before the coupon is removed while it’s $250

      • +5

surely they've caught on by now after serveal fails in the past…. but it'd definitely be my wet dream

    • +13

Woolworths and Coles are being investigated for this price manipulation trickery. I think Amazon should be included.

      • +1

2nd this, hate these stupid tricks jacking up prices then adding coupons or whatever % off at checkout, or no coupons but with red label best deal ends in blah blah, really sick of these … but ended up all same prices

      • +4

I think Amazon should be included.

the seller is setting the price/coupon…ACCC can't catch a cold let alone price manipulation. They're only interested in media headlines not actually looking after the public.

  • I am looking for a mini PC with a budget of <$300… needs to have dual HDMI + ability to have USB-C with displayport so I can run a third monitor if required. Recommendations?

    • +4

      I think you’re Krazyy

      • +3

        Found this: https://amzn.asia/d/aowxZF3 $231 shipped

        • that’s Krazyy!

        • Looks good, got recent ozbargains on portable monitor and mini pc, saved a bomb on a big laptop as alternative, usb c video was huge for me for minimal cables & very happy, screwed mini pc to portable monitor and got a cheap 90 degree cable on Amazon so can throw whole setup in a backpack easy, wife loves using it to work from home too, home office may become a bedroom again

    • +1

Get a laptop with HDMI and USB-C. That's two monitor outputs and the laptop screen makes the third for that incidental 'if required' situation.

    • Probably have to double that budget.

    • Would you go second hand? An ex corporate box might do the trick.

    • +1
      • @Krazyy this is the winner - 16GB and 512GB ready to go 👌

      • +1

it's showing 329.99 but i don't have the 70 coupon. does everyone have the coupon?

        • +1

@Fappy Bunny if you were still after this noticed it came up $259 lighting deal with 1h33m remaining from time of this post

          • @thearod: thanks, but i manage to test one from a mate and decided that n100 is just too weak to handle day to day task in window.

unless you're going linux or plex server etc, it's just not worth it :(

so gonna pay extra 100 for a better cpu

    • I got an eq12 (16gb ram/512gb SSD) a couple of days ago at just over 300 from amazon but price has gone up a little now. It has all that and its pretty damn good.

  • Reads pretty similarly specced to this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/874708

Why would I choose this over that? Or is it just the fast shipping?

    • AFAIK, they all come from the same manufacturer. Just rebranded.
I'd pick one with lower price, faster delivery, local seller, AU warranty.

      • I can almost buy 2 of the Ali ones for the price of the Amazon one. Are there particular concerns with the longevity?

  • Any idea if this comes with Windows licence?

    • +2

You wouldn't want windows that came with this kind of device. Always clean install right after you get one of it. Also nowadays you didn't need Windows' key to install windows.

      • So you don't have to save a registration key or anything? Do you need to boot off a Windows USB stick to install?

      • Don't you get that annoying popup thing in the corner that says 'activate now'?

        • +9

          massgrave dev is your friend

          • @M00Cow: Thank you! I'll read up on it, scared to fk up my husband's Pc

      • Just don't forget to download and put the SATA drivers on the install USB. It won't detect otherwise in my experience.

        • Ooh - what does this mean? Are these drivers specific to the manufacturer?

    • too answer your question, yes

    • +2

Normally yes and the pro version. The trick is to at least sign in with a Microsoft account to link the OEM key. That way you can do a clean install and re-use the key.

      • Doesn't that mean that, if the OOTB Windows install was compromised, your Microsoft account credentials could be compromised, regardless of the later clean reinstall?

        • +1

You should be using two factor authentication on your Microsoft account anyway, so it doesn't really matter if the credentials are compromised.

If you're concerned, just change your password on a different machine once you've logged in and confirmed the digital activation.

  • Worthwhile to install truenas on this?

  • Radxa X4 is cheaper and probably better equipped… If/when they're back in sock.

  • with their r&d, add 3 more m.2 pci-e slots instead of 1 slot and become a nas will be attractive.

    • i5 model looks very good

  • Anything that can run heavy gaming?

  • +1

    It's a shame these don't have 2 NIC's, they'd make a decent OPNSense box.

    • Agreed. Though given our shitty nbn speeds and how most people who would want to run opnsense probably have managed switches its not too bad putting wan into your switch and then having it tagged and passed into the opnsense box on the same physical port as your lan vlans, router-on-a-stick style.

  • this makes a very good emulator box it even plays switch games just hook it up to your TV with all the controllers u use. and go for it.

  • Would this run AOE Definitive Edition in ultra setting on a 4k monitor /tv or is a stand alone GFX be required?

  • Considering getting a couple of these for clustering/kubernetes.
Has anyone tried using these kinds of NUCs for similar reasons?

  • Cheers op good deal, got myself one!
