Dixit is fun until you know all the cards. Then you have to pay 40 dollars for the expansions

    • Wait for the sale, i got some expansions for under $35

Just lookup the rules for Dixit Stella and play it instead. You only need a pen, paper, and a word generator app (or ChatGPT) to adapt. It's a fantastic version of the game.

      • Can you give some tips on this please? I haven't played Stella so don't know it well enough to visualise how you'd adapt it.

The grid thing, i suppose you can print out 100 copies or something.

The words from the generator, can those just be written one by one as you play?

How about the tokens? Are those needed?

The grid thing, i suppose you can print out 100 copies or something. - I just have players draw up a 5 x 3 grid before playing, but printing it out would be simple too.

The words from the generator, can those just be written one by one as you play? - You only need 4 interesting/inspiring words for the 4 rounds. Using a word generator app. There's loads of free ones on the app stores, or prompt ChatGPT by asking it to describe what kind of words are used in Dixit Stella", then "provide 3 words that would be suitable for use in the game". I get it to do 3 per prompt for each round, in case there's any duds. No reason you couldn't ask for 12 or 2000.

How about the tokens? Are those needed? - You only need to track the active player and the player who "fell", aka, who guessed the most number of cards. It's generally not difficult to mentally track both.

          Have fun!
