[SUBS] Deadpool & Wolverine - Streaming from 12 Nov 2024 @ Disney+

1713

LFG!

Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his home world faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to… oh hell, just watch the movie. Synopses are stupid

      • Wish I still had a metal boner … Getting old.

  • I caught glimpses of this movie ☠️for the first time a few days ago (never seen a Dead Pool or Wolverine movie before). It was really funny when my partner watched it for the second time.

    Bad movie

  • Can anyone even access their Disney+ account anymore? I've been kicked off mine because my TV isn't in my household.

I was gonna pay to watch this, but after they ghosted Oz on the promotion tour I couldn't be bothered. Glad I didn't. To be honest I think Reynolds, Jackman and Deadpool have oversold their brands on this. The whole movie and marketing just started to reek of narcissism.

    • I don't know… I mean I certainly didn't love the movie, but it made like US$1.3b at the box office, 2nd highest grossing movie of the year behind Inside Out 2. I'd say the associated brands got through pretty much unscathed.

      • It did do amazingly well. I'm just thinking they leveraged all the goodwill they had on this and so hard, that anything future wise is gonna be on the nose. Especially when the movie itself was so dependent on surprises and cheap jokes. It's likely not gonna age that well.

        • I think Reynolds and Jackman will be fine. It did feel like a bit of a last gasp for the MCU, though. Felt like it kind of mustered up everything it had left to basically just pay the sh*t out of itself for how far it has fallen.

They had a good run for a long time, but it really is way past time for them to stop. They made a hell of a lot of money out of it for 10 years or so but, at the rate their movies are failing these days, they run the risk of handing back all that money they made in the first decade on all the losses they're taking in the 2nd decade.

          • @AngusD: I'd like to see the real financials for Disney movies. Disney bought Marvel for $4Bil. Now it's worth $54Bil. Whether or not Deadpool even made money at the box office, how much do the IP value of characters like Elekra, Gambit, Cassandra, etc + Dead Pool and Wolverine, even Peter go up. Do they make a billion just in capital gain? Then what about merchandise, licensing, character use in theme parks, cruise ships etc. Every Deadpool variant probably has it's own valuation now. Disney might have made $500K just on the Wolverine costume IP.

            • @tonka: Disney bought Marvel in 2009. The only MCU movies that had been released then were Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. So yeah the vast amounts of cash raked in by the MCU over the next 10 years or so after that would have pumped the valuation of the Marvel IP up into the stratosphere to the money made and the potential to make even more money.

That may also be part of the reason they won't / can't stop. If those characters fade from the public consciousness, it's inevitable that their value will also fade, which would be bad for the Disney balance sheet.

              • @AngusD: Yep, I expect the movie making money is nice. But I reckon there is real value being made elsewhere. And they offset their other departments against the film budgets, their FX studios, in house producers, in house marketing making their own profits etc. They probably charge their own movies massive licensing fees and management fees and try to show as little profit as possible to keep the foreign earnings down.

  • Greatest wolverine movie, better than Logan.

    • X-Men, right at the beginning was the best Wolverine. All character driven, not too crowded, and all fresh.

      • what about Origins: Wolverine?

I admit I don't remember everything but remember Hugh Jackman and his intense PAIN acting in the adamantium experiment scene. also how he hunts the other metal experiment mutants and kills them off one by one. I remember it being action packed and entertaining.

        • I remember being keen to see it, and same I remember the experiment stuff, and naked Hugh. The story lost me though, I don't remember caring much about what happened. Bit the same as this Deadpool vs Wolverine, interesting to watch all the 'ooh ah' moments but completely uninterested in the story. I do prefer the Origins Deadpool now to current one, so that's a twist.

          • @tonka:

fair enough I will watch it for the 2nd time soon and maybe I will have a different opinion.

          • @tonka: yeah just wat ch ed it again it wasn’t as good as I remember.
tbf I was still a teen when I first watched it.
asian guys power is he can pull guns out his hair and randomly fly with no explanation? typical marvel I guess I thought marvel went bad somewhere but I was probably just impressed by origins because it was one of the first I watched.
also psychic hobbit guy didn’t last long. 😂

I liked the experimental weapon angle though. that part has grounds in reality (they could be making super soldiers right now what do they say darpa is like 20 years ahead?).

also I completely forgot “Wade” was in origins, before he is fully deadpool so I guess this Deadpool X Wolverine is a continuation of origins with both of them too.

            • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: I remember some of the hype around the Wolverine Origins films was also because it was also an early EU (but Fox) which was something new as well. All up a damn good series though.

              • +1

@tonka: also I was wrong about him killing other metal boned people in origins. that is the 2nd one just called Wolverine.

  • I think I already watched the best part it was suggested to me in youtube shorts. SPOILER the scene where deadpool talks to the skeleton of wolverine and all the CG humans start appearing.

will I watch this? yeah probably not. another superhero movie targeting both grownups and teens which tries to hit the joke "in between" and it's just corny. well most marvel movie are tbh. 😴

Additions to a streaming platform aren't a "bargain".

Spot on, C0nn0r42. They should be message board posts. They should not be able to be upvoted (considering you can't downvote them).

Who does this post actually help? Are you telling me that someone who has Disney+ (or considering getting Disney+) doesn't already know this will be added to their service?

      • -1

Well, the way I read it is someone has the decency to broadcast a post on here as a 'heads up' to others on here who are too busy bargain hunting to pay attention to what streaming platforms are offering. Streaming platforms offer and withdraw titles all the time so it's just a courtesy that some stranger online is offering.

Users pay thanks by upvote, and show recognition by downvote. That's all there is to it, simple really.

      Correct.

I tried, god knows I tried but Ryan Reynolds isn't funny

  • Alien : Romulus the full movie has been uploaded to YouTube under the title of a trailer.
Just looks awful definition streaming but if you’re keen for a scare , get it while you can ,
I’m sure it’s a much better experience watching a nice copy with 4KHDR & DOLBY Sound and no ads ,maybe on YouTube premium it looks ok , because it really looks bad at SD , but if you’re keen it’s there .

  • Even with the free sub I could not bring myself to watch it. Garden work seemed better when the missus sat down to it.
