You should not be posting a referral link to the Australian Islamic Educational Trust in the deal.

    READ the posting rules…

A member of 7 years should know the posting rules by now…

You can choose which charity to donate too. So JV is the problem you have that I selected Australian Islamic Educational Trust as the charity that I want entertainment book to give 20% of my membership fees too?

You can choose which charity to donate too.

Now you can, but in your original link, you 'chose' it for us…

  • that was $30 woollies card. This is $30 visa, I shop at Aldi

    • -4

Not it was a Visa eGift Card

      • -2

wrongo Jv, always been Woolies Card. And only $20. Then you can get through KFC link for $45 a year, but cant nominate a charity for donation. I choose this as this is lowest offer ever. $30 card, means $40 per year. Less than $3.35 a month.

and 20% goes to a charity I like, which is helping refugees.

What exactly is this Entertainment Membership? Can someone explain and is it worth it?

    • I use it for BOGOF meal offers at restaurants. Also useful for booking Hotel codes, and then there is vouchers for some things like entertainment.

It was way better back in the day, but still savings to be had better than NRMA freebie app

      • +1

at least in Brisbane, BOGOF is almost gone, converted to 25% vouchers mostly.

        • True, but as its multicity, check out Bali offers, almost all are buy 1 get 1 free

            @eman resu:

but as its multicity, check out Bali offers

Having to pay for a flight to Bali kind of kills the deal though…

      and is it worth it?

probably not… Very few restaurants accept it these days.

Got good value in NZ with it last xmas though.

    FYI
    Based on my previous experience
the $30 bonus visa is short dated (mine received on the 10/8/2024 and expired on 30/11/2024)
and its a ACTIV prepaid visa (blackhawk network)

    • Dont forget you get 90 days to activate your account.

      • yea, i just activate my subscription few days ago before the 90days limit ended

        • +3

I dont know about you soldier, but $30 is gone at Aldi just on the middle isle for me. I cant imagine needing a longer expiry on such a gift card.

  • Why is there no mention of charity or donation in the T&C?

    • It's optional to donate.

      • I would like to think they have terms and conditions for it regardless of optional or not.

I see no guarantee that they do donate the funds.

Just ask whoever you donate to if they received it.

Entertainment Book easily pays itself off for me, particularly when it is national.

Usually save hundreds to thousands across the year

waiting for the 99c 3month single city deal to come back again

    • That would probably make it worth it for most people here… Otherwise it's a struggle to break even at their normal price.

About 80% of the places near us that were in the book pre-covid are now not in it.

Many places I used to frequent pre-covid have closed down :)

  • I've only found a few very minor differences between the NRMA discounts (they use "selected" entertainment book vouchers) and actual entertainment book. Maybe check before paying for Entertainment book.

yep, if you have access to that, not worth getting…

  • When there was the Ozbargain deal of $1 for 3 months last year, we got ones which we used during our trips. On several occasions, the restaurants in the book either were closed, refused to honour, or had no idea of their offer in the book. Was great 15 years ago but I don't think work it now.

    • either were closed, refused to honour, or had no idea of their offer in the book.

      Still happens often.

All they do when you complain is they reinstate a previous offer that you've already used.
If you don't end up using it, it means you end up losing your money in the offer that should have been honoured.
