Looks brilliant but do not want to burn my $ anymore on not-much-needed things!!!

      When does yours get delivered?

  • +3

Bought 2 of them last year when they were $14.87 through a pricing mistake. Stopped carrying it now because the keychain-swiveling doohicky broke and I couldn't mend it with superglue.

    • +1

I lost mine because it just undit itself from the lock mechanism.

I have one of these and to be honest, it's not that useful. Too bulky for a keyring torch, too clumsy to be used for regular torch type action. While I'm not a huge fan of the company in general, I would pay a bit more for an Olight Oclip if you want something that's easily attached to clothing or metal surfaces.

Thanks for the real life feedback. I've been kind of interested in this unit for a while, but have always held back due to being unsure about the size and how practical it would be to carry on a keychain. On the back of your comments, I will probably look for something a bit more compact

The $7.95 Olights are more practical to carry and are generally more durable.

I've got 3 of the i3E EOS (for gifts and myself) and also got the OLIGHT I1R2 EOS pro (which can charge via USB-C) at half price from a lucky wheel spin.

Had a quick look at Olight Oclip, comparing rrp to both products Olight Oclip cost nearly 3.5 times the price of the Wuben, far from 'a bit more', more like heaps more!

If I want something more robust and tiny I probably go for a Wuben X0 at $60 RRP and currently on a 20% discount deal.

Buy it nice or buy it twice.

        • The Wuben torches I bought a few years ago re still going strong, but I won't be going for this key ring torch.

          • @Speedz: i bought supfire this random brand ages ago, still doing fine. i guess for basic needs, those random brand ones are just fine for this.

            • @Hornpub: It's only a torch, whatever you paid for should be heaps better than what we get instore. The markup is insane in Australia.

Now if I was planning for a Tassie overland trek I definitely will opt for a premium and light weight torch, every gram matters!

      • Are we looking at the same products? Wuben full price $31, Oclip full price $46

        • yeah Oclip is $46 with next day delivery on Amazon if you have prime. It’s actually slightly cheaper than the Wuben they mentioned. Wuben has way better battery life though 250lm for 2.5 hours and 150lm for 15 hours compared to 100lm for 90 mins.

weirdly the top google result took me to one for $114. I guess that’s what they are seeing.

        • I have no idea, I saw the $46 after my post but this was the one came up in search

          https://www.amazon.com.au/Rechargeable-Flashlight-Convenient…

Maybe Amazon taking the piss or something.

The $46 is a good bargain, I mainly prefer the Wuben X0 because you can add extension tubes and turn it to a head torch. Also replaceable batteries is a bonus in my books.

  • they seems like massive for keychain useage. any one got a better one?

    • the i3E EOS mentioned by scrimshaw. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/872295

I could be wrong but I think for that promo you needed to sign up before it started.

if you use a eneloop pro AAA it will give you almost 100lm (constant 85lm tested) for 1 hour 15 mins. not much but for keychain use maybe 3 to 5 mins at a time should be enough.

    • For keyring use my favourite option is this little LED torch for ~$10.

I have bought many from this exact eBay listing. It's a sold by other retailers under names like Speras S11.

It's the perfect size for a keyring, extremely bright on turbo, runs a decent amount of time on lower brightness, has multiple side lights including UV, and magnets in the end. I've had a few of them on keyrings and attached various places for a couple of years and they have held up perfectly. Nothing comes close for the price.

If you want similar from a known brand, try the Nitecore Tiki 300.

      • not that I think it matters because of price but claims SST20 LED 500,000 hours lifespan doesn’t sound right.

quick google says about 50,000 hours for that led. and usual lifespan I see quoted is about 50,000 or 100,000 hours.

not that it matters though because 50000 is about 2000 days of constant light.

also spec is funny like 300lm to 2 hours, 87lm for 130 mins. only 10 mins extra for 87lm mode??

well if it performs as advertised it is better in battery life than the i3E I just got.

        • Yeah, the description has many errors. I linked that particular seller because the lights I have bought from them have been good quality. You can also get very from all sorts of other places. Including cheaper on AliExpress, but the ones I have bought there are not as bright as the ones from the eBay listing linked.

I like these because the ~400 lumen turbo is extremely useful when a large amount of light is needed briefly. And the white side light is very handy for lighting an area - especially if you can use the magnet base.

Better written specs for the same light -

          • @Prong: thanks for the links. I read up on both and looks like they switched from samsung to SST20 LED.

maybe your good experience with that ebay one is because it uses SST20.

found some graphs for SST20 LED in a torch with bigger battery and looks like it can do 150lm without drooping for the entire runtime. so it will definitely do that with a smaller battery just for shorter runtime.
higher brightness levels show big drops in brightness from overheating.

here's another SST20 test consistent 150lm until the very end of the battery life.

obviously smaller battery will mean less runtime but it's good to know it can hold that brightness. 150lm also around right for a keychain torch with consistent brightness. the i3E with AAA rechargeable can achieve steady 85lm until end of battery life.

  • can these be used in bicycles while riding at night times ? thanks
