Sick of these, bring back the free rechargeable

    • +3

They had one available last month

    • +4

      So don't get it?

      Your entitlement is showing.

Look, it's free, and that's always popular here obviously.

But I actually agree with the sentiment. When this 'bargain' is available more of the year than it's not (albeit with a different paint job every few weeks), it kind of becomes the regular price rather than a bargain.

And anyone on Ozbargain who pays 'regular price' should hand in their membership apparently. It's a no-win scenario.

      • There's shipping. I gave up on their free stuff.

A nice addition to all the other colors & designs collected over the years. I like the way Olight release little torches for "occasions"…other than I keep buying them. Olight torches are like a hobby and wonder when they will release a "Display Case" for showing them all off :-)

    • +2

They do have a tool roll but they don't seem to sell it on their Australian website anymore. I was waiting and waiting for it to come down in price but it never fell far enough for my liking.

    • You could get a watch case instead?

    • nice username btw. reminds me of porg, but cyborg.

people collect these? (sounds like the user that commented above also does)

well cheaper and better than funkopops I guess. 😂 these are actually functional. the Halloween theme on the one in this deal is also v cute.

    • I can’t wait. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

how long did it take yours to arrive?

      • Mine came in 5 days last time

        • thanks. already got dispatched.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: mine arrived. it's beautiful. 🤩🥰

            • @harshbdmmaster718: Mine just came too and yeah the design is even cooler in person. Love that its a bit matte.

              • @theguyrules: it is really pretty. I put eneloop pro inside and satisfied with the light performance as well. only downside is battery life but I guess I am expecting too much for something so small.

                • @harshbdmmaster718: I mean I haven't changed the AAA in my I3E from over a year ago - it isn't that bad.

@harshbdmmaster718: A single battery lasts ages. My wife's one lasted years on it's original battery. It's a keychain light. How much/often do you need to use it? The only times I really ever use it is when I need to see the keys and or lock or if I'm too lazy to turn on the light in our garage when I'm trying to put my shoes away at night. On my main keyring I have a i1R2 PRo and I usually just use the 5 lumen mode anyway.

That Sofirn SC13 the other day is way way too big for a keychain light. It's also way too powerful. If I need a light for more than a few seconds or need something brighter than say 80 lumens or so I go to one of my EDC torches. I do not need 1300 lumens on my keychain.

well it's come in handy a few times so far where I was like "I wish I had a torch right now" and I have been using it quite a lot overall. haven't needed to charge the battery yet because I probably only use it 5 mins at a time. this is the 2nd torch I have ever bought so it's getting a lot of use.

for me might not last years. maybe a month or two.

                  • @ozbs25: it wasn’t you but someone did comment the SC13 is too big.

I posted it because I randomly found it was posted on Ozb and the dimensions were very similar to two recently posted keychain torches.

one was very popular so I thought people might be interested in a similar size keychain torch. SC13 is also described as “key ring mini flashlight” on amazon. https://www.amazon.com.au/sofirn-Rechargeable-Flashlight-Wat…

it’s powerful as you say but it can’t do 1300lm for more than 2 mins. also many lower modes available that you can use it on, with the bonus of extended battery life.

                    • @harshbdmmaster718: As I said before, I think a keychain torch just needs to be able shine a bit of light and be able to last a long time between charges. It needs to be small as possible too.

I think the SC13 is way too big, E7 too big and G2 a tiny bit too big. I don't need the kind of light any of those throw out either, at least not on my keyring. I always carry an EDC torch of some sort (and any of those 3 listed would fit the bill really) as well as my keychain torch so I really don't need the keychain torch to be bright at all really. Obviously if you don't always carry an EDC torch then you may want a brighter keychain torch.

yeah tbh I agree. which is why I got the i3E EOS and don’t have the others.

I just had anxiety over the 1 hour 10 min battery life just before buying which is why I probably mentioned it.

I mentioned this in the SC13 post comments my other Osram LED torch is almost as thick as the SC13, but 3cm longer and has a smaller battery. I guess you would call this an EveryDay Carey torch?? I don’t carry it with me though it stays in the house. so thats probably why the I3E has been getting a lot of use, because it’s been on me more.

Love the colour - I'll grab this

    • +1

It does look nice. I think I'll finally get the Warrior 3s that matches. Been waiting for a good price but I really like the way it looks in purple and green.

  • +2

That imini2 from the last deal is bonza as a keychain light. More powerful and functional than this i3e.

    • +2

So much easier to activate in need. I'm waiting for the next time it's up for free again.

    • +2

I love it. It's actually less powerful than the i3e but excels in other places.

  • Love the pattern, but I don't need another basic torch. I could grab one for secret santa..

just a fyi for olight reps if there are any.

I scrolled past the previous similar promotions. but this one got my click and claim. the design is v cute and I just had to have it. halloween design is 🔥🔥🔥.

also saw the larger one with the same halloween pattern. $125? sorry I couldn't. maybe try make a budget line like Wuben and have them in cute designs for $40 to $60. do some collabs with cute character patterns or sonic/shadow from sega.

    • I don't think they would want to go in that direction. They are trying to separate themselves from the cheaper end of the market.

      • okay well it's up to them. but maybe a whole feminine market they are not tapping into?

they might take a second look if it has Melody or Pom purin (sanrio characters) or similar character patterns printed on. older characters liike Badtzmaru and Keropi might also be nostalgic and appeal to guys too. can push the price maybe $60 to $70?

        • Got nothing against them trying out different designs. Just don't think they should try to compete with other budget torch companies.

          • @ozbs25: okay but just sharing my opinion. I would have gotten something cute for that price range if they had it. just make it decently reliable, maybe don't put the grippy texture on like the $125 halloween one because it ruins the printed pattern. use some cheaper batteries and sell it for less?
something like this without the clip but $20 more premium cost for the print and licensing.

I just can't help seeing a light purple Blaze the Cat (Sega) torch for slight premium over the cheaper brands. it would be so gucci.
they could also release them under a completely different branding too, so it doesn't affect their serious olight torches. like maybe some might say there are rumors they are made by olight, which will increase the reputation of cute lineup?
