  • Haven't switched phi for a number of years, can we switch at any time or is it really only worth it at the end of the billing period?

    • +1

      Anytime

  • -1

After Big switch you will be switched to the bigger after 6 months

  • Does it include waiver of 2 and 6 months waiting period for extras? Cause I can't see anything about it except in the T&Cs of this post, nothing on the website.

    • If you're eligible, HCF will waive the 2-month waiting periods that apply to extras on your Eligible Policy, and, if you’ve switched from another health fund, you may not need to serve waiting periods, if: your HCF cover includes the same benefits and services as your previous cover; and you’ve served the equivalent waiting periods with your previous fund (except for hearing aids which has a 12 month waiting period even if you were covered for this with your previous fund).

  • Sorry if I missed it in the wall of T&C text, but who actually issues the gift card? OBS or HCF?

    • One Big Switch will send a Digital Prepaid Mastercard (or a physical eftpos® Prepaid Gift Card if you do not have a supported smartphone)

  • Aww, good offer… too bad I'm still on Frank 13 weeks free deal on the deal expiry date..

How about instead rewarding decades of loyalty with a $300 PP Mastercard & 6 Weeks free?

    • +2

I'm sorry to say, but if you have stayed for decades, you are a fool.

There is no loyalty when it comes to business. This is a business transaction.

Health insurers want you to feel like a 'member'. You are not a member. You are a policyholder.

Churn to whichever fund is offering a great deal—rinse and repeat.

    • lol

    • +2

Why would they pay to keep someone who shows no signs of ever leaving? You're already staying for free! If you want something out of them call up and speak to the retentions team and mention a competitors offer. That normally makes them come to the party.

one of our BIGGEST health insurance offers in a decade

The terms and conditions of this offer are certainly BIG.

    • To get either a $300 (family) or $100 (single) Mastercard, you have to wait 4 months.
    • To get 6 weeks free, you have to wait 90 days (approximately 3 months).

Churning through the 'pay 1 month, get 6 weeks free' offers yields greater discount than the above, particularly for singles.

This offer appears to penalise singles. They pay half the family premium, yet don't get a $150 Mastercard — they're downgraded to $100.

    • yeah. that is a joke…

looks like recently everyone started giving free weeks only after staying for 2-3 months…

    • Who’s the best pay 1 month and get 6 weeks? Just need to park PHI somewhere until next year

  • @Sanidhya Agarwal

I signed up to this with the affiliate link, also saw the ads on the obs affiliate version of the HCF website. After sign up, are we meant to get notification that we are eligible for this deal, or we have this deal confirmed for our account? Any indication that I was successful in applying the deal?

  • @Sanidhya Agarwal - I applied to this offer. However, when I contacted HCF they said they are not able to apply this offer and I need to contact One Big Switch to do this. Can you please help? Thanks.
