      • We can swear on ozbargain as long as we misspell it?

    • +11

Haha, just saw this on the train a week ago, a guy had the speaker up on his phone playing music for several stops, you could see everyone was getting annoyed, one guy walked over and told him to 'shut the f'ing music off' and the entire carriage applauded him for saying something lol
I can't deny it was annoying.

        Doing the lords work

  • +3

It's $16.35 if you are a Kogan member.

    • +3

WARNING - I nearly got caught out by this (well I did).

Once again you cannot trust Kogan.

Listed as $16.35 for member or $20 for non member.
      - So I added to cart, did checkout, paypal, and only once paypal was processing did I notice it was $28. I've attempted to cancel the order.

I went back and did the process again and this time double checked the cart. Sure enough - $28 (not $20).

      • Sorry mate, didn't know Kogan would do dirty trick like this, I just saw the list price and post it here.

      • +3

I bought 2 at the 16.35 figure. invoice confirms this was the amount paid.

looking at the live product page the price has been updated to $25/$28

      • +1

Kogan SUCKS. I’ve heard so many bad stories.

I want to get this but I feel like people will make fun of me when they see a Nokia product in the house.

    • You're joking right?

    • Gosh i am self conscious but thats on a whole new level

  • +1

Does it use old Nokia chargers to power up, I have a dozen sleeping in my cupboard since 2010

    • It uses USB-C, so your old Nokia chargers will not have the correct plug.

      • +1

Some Nokia phones use USB-C ;)

  • These are great to hide in spaces and prank your friends.

  • Looks like homepod made from Finland

    • +2

generous to assume its from finland

      • Surprisingly, Nokia aka HMD is still a Finnish company. Of course it would be made in China, but it's possible it was designed in Finland.

  • +6

Do I need a new Bluetooth speaker? No. Have I bought a new Bluetooth speaker? Yes.

  • Can you use it like a hammer?

  • +1

Bought two of them - these should create a nice stereo-sonic environment

    • +4

get another two for a truly ground-breaking quadrophonic experience that is totally unrivalled in this new frontier!

      • +2

Got 11 for my Atmos setup.

    • But would it be stereo?

Or would it be 2 x mono?

      • It claims TWS

      • +1

        From the product page:

Connect two speakers together via Bluetooth for stereo sound and extended microphone range.

        • Thanks - so this clarifies what it says in the OP "TWS Mode – Link with other speakers for even bigger sound".

2 for stereo would be the max then it seems. Seems "speakers" means connecting to another 1.

Appears connecting more than 2 together (e.g. 4 as 9hundred suggests) will not work.

  • Anyone know if this would be a good shower speaker for podcasts and audio books?

    • +1

an IPX7 rating ensures that the device can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes without any damage

      • Have you tried it in the shower? Does it work?

  • 5w is not strong enough for outdoors I guess.

    • Buy 100 and Sync.

      • Gonna be $1.8k and will need a lot of chargers for that amount :')

  • +2

I still use my Nokia Play 360° wireless speaker as my outdoor speaker and it's still working and sounding really great!

    • One of the first speakers that could be stereo-paired back in 2012, I bought a pair. They have aux line-in too.

Mine sit in a cupboard somewhere… I should dig them out.

      • They sound so good still! Only caveat is the microusb but i still enjoy the sound. And tap to connect nfc.

      • Looks like this has aux line-in and micro SD card in addition to bluetooth.

        (I'm not getting USB C to C audio; just 4-5 W charging)

        • Didn't notice the SD card slot! That's actually funny. Such a cheap speaker with full range of features…. Aux-in, microSD, bluetooth, waterproof, stereo-pairing.

Only questions remaining are lifespan/durability and sound quality.

  • These are great for public transport.

  • +1

    394 sold last 24 hours.

  • Bought one! Thank you!

  • +2

    Get two and pair together.

    • +1

Will there be an app for them to pair and how many? Not bad for a portable sound system and cheap. Not sure how they compare to nest mini speakers in terms of sound quality.

      • +1

There's no app. You pair them on the device:

        Double up speakers (stereo mode):
If you have two Nokia Portable Wireless Speaker 2 -devices, you can double them
up to reach the stereo mode: Power on the speakers > Press and hold one of the
Play/Pause-buttons for 2 seconds until the speaker's notification sound is
indicating that the pairing is successful > Connect with your Bluetooth device.

        • Looks like 2 is the pair they can do and no more than that. No app is good as no need to care about app connection and updating, etc.

  • Thanks for posting! It sold me on the auxiliary port and small size since those features are rarely found on newer speakers these days. I bought two of them to try out the stereo mode.

  • +1

I was amazed at how a simple search on OzBargain led to significant finds for me. I placed the order!

  • +2

Well built unit and value for money, but as for the sound quality 👎

  • +1

    price gone down to $18

  • +1

Thanks again, OP. Mine was just delivered. Great sound easy to use and very compact. Of course now I wish I had bought four ha ha.

  • +2

Thanks OP brought 2. For $32.30 (with $5 eBay plus voucher) can’t ask for better quality speakers. Also comes with a USB-A to C cable which is great.

    • +1

Mine was in a sealed Nokia box but it had some rub marks on it and there was no cable and no lanyard. So maybe a bit hit and miss and these were returned items to begin with. Seems to work fine.

      • +1

Same with mine, speaker had some marks on it.

      • Lanyard? 🤔

        • +1

Couldn’t think of what else to call it. The bit of rope that goes through the eyelet on the side of the speaker so you can carry it around on your wrist.

          • +1

@jaypow: Yeah know what it is just didnt get one either.

            • @poxy001: Oh ok. It’s in some of the pics.

    • @motkarma the speakers are pretty bad, you could pick just about any brand name speaker and they would be much better. However you wont get them for $18.

      • For my use case at indoor basketball/badminton courts (when it’s empty) for $18 each they work. If I bought a $100/200 speaker would they be 5/10 times as good? Probably not. But it’s also 5/10x cheaper and does the job.

        • These are designed for small rooms.. youre using these in a indoor court open space? .

          • @poxy001: Yeah they work well. Not as good as a UE Boom or other $100+ speakers but for what I paid it does the job

  • +1

    $15.26, Now 😐

    • Yeap and mine hasn't opened yet. Can I refund the diff? 😏

  • Received mine today.
    Not bad for a $15 speaker. I tried it side-by-side with a JBL Go 3. The JBLG3 is a more satisfying speaker;
    1) JBLG3 sounds better (more base/depth… the Nokia speaker is 'tinny' compared to the JBL).
    2) JBLG3 buttons/finish/design/tactile feel are better, which makes using it a pleasure.

All up I'm happy for a $15 purchase. Thanks OP.
