(Eligible Users means users who have been invited to participate in the offer via email or eBay Message Centre and/or homepage banners on eBay.com.au)

1 Year of eBay Plus for $10 (Was $49) is great value, especially as a seller. But receiving eBay-Plus seller promos are so inconsistent now, it's too risky paying anything close to the standard price… hope this is helpful!

  • 2 x $5 vouchers each month*
  • Exclusive eBay Plus discounts
    Exclusive member-only savings & offers
  • Free Returns on heaps of eBay Plus items
  • access to seller promos

I got the email previously. But it's still showing $49 for me.

    • +1

      Same 😂

      • +2

No email but can see $10 option, earlier this morning it was still $49 though

    • same

  • +12

Looks like it is available to me as well. But my last eBay purchase was 8 months ago. Not sure whether I am wasting $10.

Yes I can see how $10.00 is life changing to all of you pagans .

  • +5

Thanks for the reminder to cancel! Was about to tick over a new year.

    • I have been clicking around for a couple mins and can't find the subscription settings.. afraid of being billed full price on an autorenew - does that happen? where are they??

      • +2

Go into eBay then click on eBay Plus on the top bar then go towards bottom of page " Manage your Membership" ——> Account Details

        • +3

Thanks, would never have spotted that, it's shaped like a banner ad

  • +10

Available for me but when I try to put it through, I get the message "An error has occurred. Please try again later."

  • +3

Instead, krooks sent me a coupon code for at least $300 spending on crap refurbished items. No way.

    • Same, totally lame!

  • -2

The deal is finally active for me!

    Congrats

  • +2

Wasn't this posted the other day.

Hmm mone expires in 9 days, will cancel before then but probably won't bother with the $30 to stay (and wait for a $10 deal hopefully).

  • +2

My main use for eBay plus is the free fvf and postage but they seem to only be doing it occasionally now and only 1 slot so pretty useless.
    EBay so stingy these days

    • Yes it's useless I'm going to cancel my subscription

The only use is if you sell 1 item per month

  • Here is the real deal if someone can get the link

    https://pages.ebay.com.au/2024/plussignup5/

    • -2

the real deal is don't do it.

Even onepass worth more than Ebay plus

      • onepass is more than 10?

        • +1

At least onepass gave you real saving on the delivery.

It could be just me but I hardly find anything on ebay says Free delivery for Ebay Plus member only.

      • According to my ebayplus summary I've saved over $900 so worth it for me

        • Mine says $700 and I feel it's super inflated. They just don't 17% discounts, when you could get 15% with a non plus code or something

        • good for you mate : )

I would do my own calc though.

Exclude price it jacked and only calculate the 2% extra "saving" Ebay Plus gave.

          • @NonSense: Don't care really all I know is I definitely made my $49 back (well even $19 after getting $30 loyalty voucher) with vouchers etc alone.

        • Where is the summary, I can’t find it?

          • @PVA: From memory the eBay plus membership page

            • @4foxache: No summary for me.
But at least I found the cancel button.

    • +3

      “ before 30th September 2024“ ..

  • got one too

  • No email, but went to pay and it says $10. Try and pay. "An error has occurred. Please try again later."

    • +7

eBay chat said they're aware of the issue and they're "working" on it. The sceptic in me thinks that those of us that did not get the email, but have the offer in our account, shouldn't have it & they are "working" on a way to remove it ;)

      • +1

I've got the email but it tries to charge $49 :D eBay are nailing it haha

      • I got the email and get the same error clicking on the link from the email.

      • +1

You are right!!!, the 'fix' by eBay is actually to remove the offer!. I can no longer see the offer anymore, now back to $49 per year…scambay.

      • The sceptic in me says they never actually had a deal at all. They just put it out there to get clicks on their site and hope some people would sign up anyway and buy their products. Knowing they would never offer the discount. No billion dollar company is that incompetent, that they cant make a deal work after weeks.

    • +1

Such a large business, who cannot get the simple things right.

  • An error has occurred. Please try again later.

  • +1

EBay Plus is no longer worth it tbh, even it’s only $10.

    • +4

I have saved thousands with ebay plus. A large chunk of it through their 0% fee promotions, but also through the ebay plus vouchers and increased % off.

      • +3

Same. Also use the $5 off $25 a lot.

    • Still way better then the useless OnePass.

    • with retailers sourcing in bulk from china they've been able to easily undercut drop shippers

as such ebay and aliexpress are more often than not more expensive than local retailers

sometimes you can make ebay work with coupons, it's a fools game but if you already have ebay plus (and decent coupons) it can make ebay worth checking out in your comparison shopping

i'd say the biggest advantage to ebay plus is if you're a seller - they use to provide shipping discounts which easily cover your membership fees even if you pay full price, you just need to make a few sales in the year and you are good

but as a buyer only it's probably not worth the trouble

  • Those like me who are still on the previous deal, do we cancel then try this?

  • +2

Mrs opted in to this deal last year… or so she thought.
Was charged $49, didn't realise for a few weeks, and then was basically told $t!ff $#!t.
With the amount of alternative options available to the discerning online buyer nowadays, FeeBay has definitely lost its shine!

    • What alternative options are there for online marketplaces like ebay specifically?

Obviously facebook marketplace and gumtree are great at times, but they're mostly pick up or local delivery. So kinda useless to people in smaller towns.

      • Facebook marketplace and gumtree are great for being scammed. You’d be crazy to buy anything where you don’t handover cash in person.

        • Yup payid scams and the usual I can't go there physically my sister or brother will. Then someone taken your goods without paying by showing you Commbank payid and retract, or you pay something and never gotten the goods

            • @G-rig: True but who knows if the notes are not counterfeit. And for eBay those fee free sales are getting less and less not every month no longer

  • "Re-thrown: Host: https://eplushomexs.vip.ebay.com:0, error: HTTP 500, response: {\"errors\":[{\"errorId\":20000,\"domain\":\"EBAY_PLUS\",\"category\":\"APPLICATION\",\"message\":\"The system encountered an internal error.\"}]}"

  • +2

    I keep getting an error

  • Got the $10 link and tried to copy it to my other account and it didn't work. This did work previously with other discount links.

  • +2

"An error has occurred. Please try again later." :'(

  • Following for alert when this is up working…

  • Same as last deal, got shown $49. Good luck to those targeted

  • +4

I cancelled my membership last week and it expires on the 30th November. I, for the life of me cannot find where I can reactivate/extend my membership or is this something that I'm unable to reactivate until it actually expires?

    • I think that is right

    • +1

Exact same issue. Baffling layout tbh.

  • I got the email. It failed to work so I asked them about it. They said I'm not able to get it and it was a mistake. Offered me to pay $49 and I get a $50 voucher instead
I click on the link now and it says I can get it for $10

Is it worth getting? I suppose $10 isn't much and there may be a good deal with the November sales….. Thoughts O wise OzB gurus.

    • Did you try the link? Hasn't seemed to work for anyone else here.

      • Link worked. Put in new CC details
I didn't press the final pay button though
If that is where people fail - most likely I will as well

        • +1

Ah yep - we are all at the same place. For $10, I'll bite.

    • +1

Kind of a horses for courses scenario. I generally make a purchase with their monthly sales that give eBay Plus members an extra couple % so it ends up paying for itself. For a decent amount of OzBargainers I'd say the real value comes with the random no FNF on sales though. They're becoming more and more scarce though but if you have one big sale on eBay it definitely makes it worthwhile, especially for $10 for a year.

      • +1

Miss the days of multiple no FNF promos in the same month.

    • Well free is better than $10 so maybe I will try chat…

  • I just went to cancel my subscription and they offered me a $30 voucher to stay.

    • +6

      They always do.

    • +1

Still not worth it. eBay plus is only worth $1

      The voucher has minimum spend.

You might as well spend $49 on Temu or Aliexpress rather than membership

  • +1

Still showing as $49 for me, but as of this morning I'm also being offered a 30 day trial, which I don't care about. Waiting for the $10 and I'll bite.

  • +1

    Shows as $49 for me

  • +2

Love that we have hit 35 upvotes with no confirmation that the deal is actually gettable by the few that have been selected in the targetted offer :)

      • -1

It does not work (yet). Anyone that clicks on it gets an error message. This has been explained multiple times within this thread.
        40 now :)

Also, no point negging when you're wrong, then deleting your wrong comment. You only have 5 of those to use per day and have wasted 2 here.

  • So was anyone able to sign up for the $10 promo without getting the error? Been trying for an hour now.

    • $1000 credit card charges and 100 years of eBay Plus later..

  • I didn't get the email but have the option of the $10 year plan on the eBay app. Haven't progressed further yet.

    • I tried the app as well. It just freezes on the payment screen.

  • Showing up as full price for me. I'm guessing you need to enable email promos (which I disabled long ago) otherwise you won't get deals like this?

  • +1

My ebay plus expires in 9 days, will see if it works by them. The deal link is just taking me to my normal eBay Plus page.

At $10/year can't complain, as i do get some value out of eBay, but not as often as i did 2-3 years ago, especially with Aliexpress shipping stuff so quickly.

Onepass gives better value FOR ME atm when it's on special at $20/year.

The one that has me worried is my Amazon Prime subscription, which i'm not sure if it is worth the $80/year (especially since prime video now has ads)

    • My ebay plus expires in 9 days, will see if it works by them.

It won't. I cancelled mine a week ago and shows $49.

      • I think it's not showing because our memberships are still active (they don't get cancelled right away) and therefore the system doesn't allows us to sign up again. Mine will completely expire in 9 days, so after that i will not be a member and will try and see if i get a banner offering to sign up (again) for $10

        • Mine has ended. I don't have Plus anymore as it was 1 year from signing up which ended last week, and I refused their offer of a $30 credit.

          • +1

@Lucille Bluth: Ahh, good to know! Well, it's not like we are missing much, another promo will come up most likely closer to Christmas

            • @pichxlonco: Don't worry, it will probably take 5 more attempts by other users to post this deal, before it works on eBays end 🤦‍♂️ (and your membership will have expired by then)

    • Prime with ads on video is the worse hidden cost ever.

For that reason I don't watch it anymore.

We already paid membership and they just want something more out of customers for nothing

  • Not sure how people don't see value in ebay plus, I consistently find things cheaper on ebay, then discount codes make it cheaper, then free shipping. I got some motorcycle tyres $120 cheaper than anywhere else plus delivered free.

  • +3

I wish we would get permanent free FVF like eBay UK - that would be brilliant

    • +2

      Whaaaaaaat!!!!!

  • Sounds cheap to me. Thanks OP.
But I never took it up.
Just dump all my wishes into the cart until cart is full.
Then tell them if I don't get the plus price then I will get it from Ali.
    Worked every single time.
And jv got me to cancel Wesfarmers crap deal, harder to pricebeat now but with a bit of effort I never pay full price.

  • Just reminded me to cancel my eBay plus as it was due to renew next month. Will only sign up again if I can get this deal or the voucher for $50.

  • +3

Despite the fact that neither this deal or last week’s (later moved to the forum) have actually worked, they've driven 10k+ click-throughs to eBay. Seems like eBay's marketing department is playing Obz like a fiddle; maybe they're not as incompetent as we thought they were.

    • +1

Good call. It seems to be the same issue. One person was told it's an error and were offered a $50 voucher if they paid the full $49.

      • +2

Interesting point, but knowing eBay have offered the subscription at $10, many will never justify paying full price for it.
All this advertising at $10 just devalues people's perception of the service, not in eBays favour.

And originally, only an email was sent "in error" (= first post). I only posted the deal because the actual site was updated and confirming the offer, even using the previous email link.
Sorry to everyone / the mods!

        • +3

Please don't apologise. You posted what appeared to be an active deal. The problem is eBay are morons. They told me they're working on it. That's not likely from previous eBay "deals" that were pulled/created in error.
