  • Thanks OP. Wondering how a pair will go with DDJ FLX4 controller. XLR via a direct box?

    • Surely just RCA inputs, does DDJ-FLX4 even have XLR output?

    • I think the FLX4 only has unbalanced RCA, so I would just use RCA. You could use another mixer in between to get a balanced XLR signal, but if your controller is within a few metres of the speaker, I wouldn’t bother.

      • Thank you both. Appreciate your responses.

    • It only has RCA outputs which are unbalanced. They are meant for powered speaker output or a mixer as others have mentioned.

You could go RCA to RCA right into the speakers, but make sure you atleast get thicker shielded cables and dont exceed 3m. The shorter, the better. If you want distance, RCA to a mixer ( nothing to fancy ) then XLR output to speaker.

If you want, you can bend the rules a little and use a RCA to XLR DI box. But this comes with drawbacks. It be cleaner with a budget mixer the issue is extra gear to cart around.

  • Hi, anyone got experience with this speakers? Looking for a two speaker setup for parties with ~300 guests approx. Thanks

I wouldn’t touch these. Been in the industry for 25+ years and have seen people use these and quickly realize they are a waste of money when i pull out a smaller speaker which out performs them both.

A quality (on the cheaper side) speaker like the jbl-irx108bt can leave these for dust and you can pick up one for a $100 more (i picked up another one recently for 430) . Im sure there are even better options out there.

You get what you pay for. You would never see these on any professional stage. Mainly JBL, EV, etc.

Hi, these speakers are $400 a pair or $200 each and you're comparing them to speakers costing ~$500 each. I'm not sure that's a fair comparison?

Im comparing a pair of $400 speakers to a single speaker. (I recently purchased for $430 when bargaining with a music shop so its possible to get it under 500).

My point is that the single speaker alone would out perform the other two combined. I would rather someone put their money into a quality speaker then buy these which weigh more, take more space and dont perform as well.

        • Thank you @BOB81

Good luck providing sound to 150 people with that!
