    again lol

  • Does anyone know if it’s possible to split credit onto different cards? I’ve never been but thinking of taking my daughter and some of her friends so just trying to figure out how to distribute multiple cards between them so they’re not reliant on me to swipe for them, but also take advantage of the bonus credits!

    • +8

I don't believe there is a way to split your credit but you can add the card to you digital wallet on you phone. Then you can give the card to someone to use and you can tap your phone. You can also add the digital card to multiple phone.

      • Smart way of getting around it

      • +2

This might be the way to go - there’ll be 2 adults with phones so if we add to both wallets, plus the physical card, then that should work! Thanks

        • +1

You can multi tap on different machines. If there is a game with 2 readers, you can tap same card on 2 different readers

    • +1

Yeah you can't split. (I used to work for timezone)

    • +17

      Costs $0 to not partake!

      • -6

        Thankfully

  • theres no way this can be sustainable

    • +13

I imagine that their cost per play to offer the games is nearly zero, and the more people they have coming through and spending any money at all the more they can offset their electricity and shop space/arcade machine rental bills, so any foot traffic is better than none.

    • +5

The thing is though that the money to play the machine is a fiction - they call dollars but it's an in-house currency to play the arcade games and they can charge what you want. They can give you a 2x multiplier when you load the card and then make it cost more to play Time Crisis.

    • Time limit cards are still more value for money, even with the double bonus.
You just need to rush through it.

      • I'm amazing at games (humbly speaking), so this is worst value for me as I stay on the machine too long because i don't lose.
absolutely fantastic for kids though, they have a blast but lose fast and off to the next game, lol.

Hi! As someone who works in kingpin (so basically timezone) we actually make most of our revenue from birthday parties, venue hires and food. Our arcade makes us a decent amount of money because of how overpriced a single game is (each game is between $2.50 and $5 for what is basically a minute or less) so our double dollar promotions and stuff is basically just free publicity and promotion because it doesn't cost the venue anything to do it and it only means losing out on a couple thousand dollars for one week and back to intense profits

  • We always just do the time based play 30 mins or an hour.

    • -8

      Well done you

    • I've done this in the past when it was on entertainment book, was really cheap entertainment for the kids. Problem was when kids tried out ticket games, they some times won major tickets but you get nothing lol ie pop the big balloon.

      200%

    • +25

I agree. They should get rid of daylights savings.

    • +4

Expensive - Yes Scam - No Rigged - Maybe a little
Bottom line is, you pay the money , take the kids, kids have fun, you have fun, no regrets

      • Each game is made different. I can tell you 100% that some games are rigged (pay out at certain number of player or progression) and some are skill. It's not hard to find skill games but I would avoid any claw machines and any games with too many digital parts like interacting with a screen and stuff. The big spinning wheel ones (big bass wheel/ticket monster) is like a random non rigged game. It's still hard to get the big numbers but that's because it's not rigged. zombie snatcher and power roll is also for example aren't rigged. They are skill games and from these games you can get thousands from just a few plays. But yeah you should not just go for tickets as you will still will probably get less value from the tickets as the money you spent even though I know of ways to can definitely beat the system but yeah I'm not going to share that lmao.

  • First day BACK to school. figures…

    • +6

Why go to school ? Go to timezone instead

  • None of the Timezone in WA have Time Crisis game anymore…

    • Same in SA. Only trash G games

  • Does anyone know how the gold card free yellow daily game works? I was told I had to load at least $1 at my original venue, which I did and my free daily game works at garden city. But then I went to surfers paradise and tapped on a yellow game and it took my money? Do I need to load at least another $1 at surfers for this to work or is the free daily game only at my original venue

    • Your daily free game is for the venue you last reloaded at 24 hours before. I believe you keep getting a free game in that venue for 3 months.

      • Makes sense

Double Dollars comes around about once a month, I'll always upvote it because it IS a bargain compared to it's normal price. The frequency of it occurring means that you should NEVER have to pay full price if you time it properly and load up in advance.
My son loves Timezone, happy to pay a few dollars each visit for his entertainment - no different to paying to watch a movie.

    • +1

That’s like saying Coles and Woolies jacking up the prices and then giving you 50% off is a bargain. I see the extra Timezone credit “promotion” as the normal price as is a regular discount, and the normal price is a ripoff.

      • you have a valid point and I agree with you, however,

        1. Each week Colesworth gets their posts with 50% discount and they still get upvotes, why shouldn't this be upvoted?

        2. Are you suggesting that if streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify etc) offer 50% discount, it's not a bargain and that it's the normal price which is still a ripoff? Perhaps, but I'm confident it will get plenty of upvotes.

        3. Plenty of arcade games used to be $1.00 back in the 90s as far as I can remember. With each game at Timezone right now hovering around $2.50 to $3.00 or more, using this "Double Dollars" equates to game at $1.50 roughly… I'm pretty sure that's good value considering everything has gone up in by far more (think train tickets, food, cost of living, housing affordability etc)

anyway, I'm not saying I don't agree with you, I'm just saying that I can see why people would give this an upvote.

          1. No, games were not $1 in the 90s, try $0.20, I used to play Street Fighter II
          • @Jessie Ryder: Late 90s were definitely $1. I remember going to arcades instead of school for xmen vs sf

  • Where’s my $20 voucher

        • bleh, thanks for letting me know

        • This isn’t true.
I just used my Ultimate everyone GC to reload through the app.

  • dang it, not this deal again. i still have $700 on my card. i will most likely get the $60 for $120 deal.

Just in time for this deal. Stack 10% extra GC value then redeem at timezone for double dollars.

    • Have to go in store….

      • Yes.

      • -1

You have to load credits in store anyway at least once every 3 months to refresh your free daily game on Gold & Platinum cards.

  • Can this credit be used for bowling at timezone or kingpin? or is it just for the arcade games?

    • Cannot be used for bowling, but can be used for kids mini bowling that is if you can find a venue with it

      Those are swiped card operated

  • waiting for Load 80 Get 200

  • -4

Imagine being a kid with a $200 timezone card… "I wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy….".
    #toosoon?

But seriously anyone remember the mornings where they would just set everything to Freeplay and lock the kids inside. Awesome time to be alive.

  • I wonder if the 12-month expiry is legal. You "load" (buy) funds onto a "Powerpass Card" (gift card).

  • -2

Genuinely who is going to Timezone in 2024? Why do these get posted every other week

  • Remember it's only a bargain when you see $80 for $200 plus pay with gift card where possible

Normal prices are just a rort
