That's a good buy. Twice the output and includes Anderson and alligator cables. No stock near me ☹️
Gonna go well with my $99 1kw power station i got from amazon early this year
$99 1kw power station?
@boomlogical: Yeah Coofly @ Amazon price error.
Got 3, sold 2 for $700 each and kept one.
They had them discounted to $499, then added a $400 off coupon and forgot to increase price back to $899.@easternculture: That is some very savvy ozbargaining.
@DoctorArd: Doesn't happen often though
@easternculture: broden is that u
@easternculture: Best them at their own game!
Off topic, but what brand/model was it?
@Rod911: COOFLY Portable Power Station,1021Wh Backup Lithium Battery with 2x230V AC Outlets,PD 100W Fast Charging Solar Generator (Solar Panel Optional) for Outdoors Camping Travel Hunting Blackout https://amzn.asia/d/eQleTSq
none left, I wish I had never seen ur comment, fomo now haha
Damn, that is nice!
Just got pickup confirmation for 200watt solar blanket. So excited.
Does anyone know where to get the MPPT to barrel charger connector for my coofly so i can charge it (coofly also has built in MPPT)
My advice is take the power station to Jaycar and they will find correct size/polarity barrel charger.
There are many similar sizes and fits, it must be the correct one with correct polarity combo.
Will have to solder wires on cable (or get that done). Have done this muself with the smaller and much less
capable than your bargain Allpowers R600, that was a 5.5mm barrel on memory. Most of these solar panels are
lucky to max out at 50-70% of their stated max Watt output, but even 100W charges stuff quickly.
Thanks for the advice. Ill take it and see what they say. 200watt panel will charge my powerstation in 6 to 8 hrs as per specs on PS
@easternculture: I've been living off dualbattery systems with dc dc chargers and 12 v solar charging
all around Australia for 4 years now in NNSW and Qld mainly (as well as NSW/VIC/TAS/SA/FNQLD)
and in real world use you definately don't get the charge rates quoted on most tech. Obviously
the weather and altitude/season plays a big part, but even optinum conditions reaps 50-70%
max of quoted specs, even many expensive panels. Keep expectations realistic, lessen the
dissapointment (I like being a realist lol).
@ozhunter68: I dont mind how long it takes as long as i can fully charge it everyday
@easternculture: I did not mean to sound negative on solar panels, I love my fixed on roof solar panel,
but would certainly like double if I had more room, and I also use a solar blanket
in times of cloudy weeks especially in hot weather as my fridge runs 24/7.
Most 12 V panels/blankets don't get close to the stated optinum max, so we just need bigger or
more, especially for those many cloudy days/weeks where you often only get 20%-30%.
@ozhunter68: Picked up my 200watt solar blanket today, tested and pretty much on par with spec sheet so im very impressed.
Its also well made and even cables are impressive quality. Didnt expect it from a brand like ridge ryder lol.
For $100, the ROI will be a few months using my powerstation while i power up those bitcoin miners 24/7@easternculture: Good stuff all round. Glad your panels are performing well, some are better than others,
that's for sure. Were those panels posted here on Ozbargain?
Go the bitcoin mining haaha
all sold out it seems in vic, spewin!
Upvoted for spewin.
That word is pretty grouse.
hahaha i also use grouse, niiiice
Could something like this be used to run a small set of led lights in my outdoor shed?
with a battery, yes
could something like this charge a laptop?
Easily, but you need a battery attached to solar panel.
Not sure if usb port has enough wattage
You can use any old 12v battery as a pass through ,
old car batteries are perfect, motorbike battery etcI have some small outdoor fans (blowing on racks of plants) running off shitty small Temu solar panels.
Could something like this plug directly to the fans without burning them out, or would the battery act as a voltage/load regulator regulator and keep the fans happy?
I got no idea with this stuff, but this seems like a cheap way to upgrade things.
What is the voltage rating of the fans? The shitty temu panels may be usb voltage (4.5 odd volts)? This solar regulator is designed to charge a 12V battery. It will all depend on the voltage rating of the fans you are trying to operate. Also, if you just have these fans operating 24/7 you will may flatten the batty overnight and during poor weather and damage the battery unless you have a device that drops the connection when the battery voltage gets too low. (voltage sensitive relay).
They just look like PC fans in a little case, currently 2x fans plugged per panel using those 5.5 x2.1 plugs.
Fans can be replaced with actual 12 fans, happy to spend a bit on a setup, just not hundreds and hundreds.
I have no issues if the fan needs to cut out - it's not mission critical and currently they're not running half the day anyway (being direct from panel).
The relay you mention I assume would have a double benefit of not trying to run the fans on too low voltage as well - as you can hear in morning sun at the moment that the fans are trying to run, but don't have enough juice to actually start.
Edit, so a panel ($50), pretty much any deep cycle battery (can see small ones for $40) and this relay (a few bucks on ali/Temu?) would be what I need?
Stupid questions… Can a battery like this be "overcharged" by having an oversized panel on it? Or do these things just happily waste excess, or whatever.
Edit again - current fans are 5v 0.3A per fan (in pairs, 4 pairs total). Happy to replace if that's simpler.
@mattman: Yeah ok so you have 5v fans. If you are happy with them a 12v to 5v step down would be cheap. Would allow you to keep the current fan set up.
If you wanna change to 12v fans all good also.
The mppt solar regulator included in the deal won't allow the battery to be overcharged. It will sense the internal resistance of the battery rise whilst it charges and turn off when it is full. For your purposes a small agm battery around 10Ah would be sufficient.
@Buyingcrap: Awesome cheers, so panel, battery and (maybe) fans is really all I need!
@mattman: Yep, new fans or something like this to drop 12v to 5v and use the existing fans if they are doing the job: https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformer-Conversion-Over-voltag…
@Buyingcrap: Also some in line fuses would be advisable. Let me know if you are gonna go through with it and I'll draw up a basic diagram so you can make it safe.
@Buyingcrap: Cheers I've already ordered the panel, since this seems feasible. And help would be massively appreciated!
@mattman: Alright cool. are your existing fans up to the job as far as air flow?
@Buyingcrap: Yeah for the time being I'll leave them as-is if it's not difficult. I imagine they'll only be even more effective with the new panel and battery anyway.
noice! if I plug a few of these together maybe it'll charge my EV
It’s now showing as $75 and some stores still have stock..
They had 20 to 30% off over the weekend
Just bought the 200watt solar blanket for just over a hundy
