ATL I believe. Should be quite useful for people with 10G NAS at home.

Why are Asus so awful at designing their products. This thing is atrocious
Who cares what they look like as long as they do their job. ASUS routers are highly regarded and are essentially the best high performing routers over any other brand, and the amount of antenna’s that some of their models have are a part of the reason for that.
They can have antennas without it looking like a demon spider designed by a 13 year old.
No they can't.
More dropouts.@G-rig: Haven't had a single drop out on my router, doesn't have a single protruding antenna
@ONEMariachi: Oh good. It's more about range and signal strength.
@G-rig: Got plenty of that too. Again, there are ways to do all of this without it looking like a creature from storm troopers.
@ONEMariachi: Yeah just get whatever suites. I don't really care how they look but like Asus routers and GUI. I got a ASUS DSL-AX82U AX5400, it's great.
@G-rig: Yeah I used to have the AX58U. Looked fine, worked well, but I wanted something to work with my 1000/400 connection now. I've got a Deco BE-65 now, works excellently. Got the 2 pack for cheaper than this and have it hardwired through the house.
I'm amazed at this price this router doesn't have all 2.5gb ethernets instead of the 1gb ports.
@ONEMariachi: You missed the original point entirely. From a signal performance perspective your way requires 2 or more routers to be linked together using a mesh setup to accomplish the single strength of 1 individual router like this with 8 antennas, therefore for your money you’re getting an individual router that is inferior to a product like this in terms of signal strength and over all performance because you care more about the router looking like a fashion accessory and the aesthetics of your home. You don’t sound all too dissimilar from men who downgrade from seperate audio component home theatre setups to a tiny inferior soundbar for the same reasons, “it’s a clean minimalist look, I want my house to look like a display/show home rather than lived in” footstools 🙄🤣
@[Deactivated]: Imagine getting all worked up and personal over a subjective view on a ugly router. Time for a nap mate. Life is getting to you.
@ONEMariachi: It’s only personal if it’s true for you to be offended. I’m not worked up at all, you on the other hand appear to be pretty upset over the design of this router, by making boisterous subjective comments referring to it as “ugly” and that “it looks like it’s been designed by a 13 year old”… You’re comments sound like they have come from a 13 year old 🤷♂️. It’s time for you to get off of the internet and take a nap indeed mate.
@[Deactivated]: I wrote it was ugly and you write a paragraph tirade on why this is the coolest router ever because logic of 1 router better than 2, and I’m the 13 year old.
Nailing it bro.
If you’re ever wondering why you are eternally single. It’s because of your personality
@ONEMariachi: I said no such thing about this router “being the coolest router ever”, you said the ASUS routers are awfully designed products, I merely responded stating a fact that ASUS routers in general are highly regarded and have a reputation of being the best at putting out high quality performing routers, and how their design that you dislike so much is one reason for their performance superiority.
@ONEMariachi: 🤦♂️ My god, you’re in no position to take a swipe at anyones comprehension skills. My comprehension regarding what you said is on point… Yes you were talking about their design and aesthetics, and to that I am saying how they are designed and their aesthetics, and some of their models having 8 external antennas, is a reason why Asus’s routers are good routers and they are leaders at releasing superior high quality performing router products.
@[Deactivated]: You are so very boring
@ONEMariachi: Obviously not boring enough for you to continue foolishly responding, especially with no comments that are actually relevant to the discussion, that also contradict what I have said if you disagree.
Since you seem to think you’re an engineer that should be on Asus’s payroll because you feel their product are ugly and don’t need to be designed this way, implying that you could design them to be more aesthetically pleasing while also keeping their same high level of performance, I would love to hear how you would achieve this?
@[Deactivated]: Keep going. You'll eventually convince someone you don't pleasure yourself to RGB
@ONEMariachi: Agree you missed the point and not here to chat to you.
@G-rig: Didn’t miss anything. Just a different opinion. I know different opinions make people real mad though.
@ONEMariachi: Don't care really but yea we are all free to say what we want!
@[Deactivated]: I can see the reflection practice didn't work too well for you. You still obviously can't see how you are being rude. When I called blurays 'clutter', you got offended (even though I was talking about my personal space). You literally just insulted everyone who wants to have a minimalist style home.
You don't sound like you will ever be a decent human being with the way you act on here.
You don't see any perspective outside your own and the problem is you aren't even aware of how toxic your personality is.@maverickjohn: The worse things about this site is that too many members seem to be crazy weirdo stalkers who check the post history of other members that they have argued with before, and follow the member into other threads to quote them long after the feud ended.
Another “great” thing about this site, is the other person, you in this case, thinks they’re innocent of any wrong doing in any previous disagreement that’s occurred. It always takes 2, you should remember that for next time.
I think you need to reread the other members posts that have been involved in a conversation with in this thread, multiple times they have dropped personal attacks directed at me, and I have simply ignored them and haven’t retaliated, but yet some how I’m being rude.
I think you have mistook the meaning of my previous comments when we last had a discussion, I wasn’t offended at all by what you were saying, I was merely pointing out that those terms that you used to describe it are poor descriptions, which are used by far too many people on the internet, and that some people (I wasn’t saying me) could be offended by your comments… I have seen it happen before, therefore other words different from “clean” for example could be used. It’s also a bit silly for you to bring it back up, because you were stupidly arguing with me at almost midnight when I was drunk at the time, which I said in the thread… And even with me being under the influence you had trouble arguing a point lol.
In this thread all I care about is what I originally said in response to the members inaccurate comments about Asus routers, and the member not acknowledging that their design and aesthetics is a factor when it comes to their performance. This conversation would have been over 6 posts ago if the member had said instead, that while they don’t like the look of their products, it is a valid point. Instead they have dug their heals in and have continued to argue like they are a 13 year old.
@[Deactivated]: I don't stalk any messages.. I literally was also posting in the other Asus router thread. These two threads are within 24 hours of each other so not sure why you think I would go out of my way for you.
I wasn't referring to any other part of the conversation except the point where you used my statement last time and made it into an insult against people like me. I didn't provide any feedback to either of you around the discussion. It just pissed me off that you used my minimalist clutter free comment and called people like me a footstool.
Also you probably need to go back there and double check there was no issue regarding me holding an argument as I was letting you know not to be rude which has carried til here.. I don't want to get into another long thread about this. But I got irritated as your comment really came off as rude and condescending. In no way shape or form are you superior or smarter/better than me or many other people here so stop playing that card. I wouldn't have actually gone against you (nor him around the router issue.as I'm impartial) but it really ticked me off to see you reference my previous comment and belittle many of us who wish and are happy to have a minimalist layout.@maverickjohn: The defense rests, your honour.
@maverickjohn: The question is why does and have my comments bothered you? Are you really that insecure about your decisions, to the point that you care about what a person on OzBargain who you don’t know says? The fact that I pissed you off is the goal when you’re arguing with someone on the internet, it’s your job never to let anyone succeed.
Yes I do think those things about men who choose aesthetics over performance in their homes, that’s my opinion, just as it is your opinion that the minimalist look is “clean” and having things out in the open is untidy clutter even when the things are well sorted, clean, neat and tidy. I don’t care what your opinion is, or what you or others might think about my home, and you shouldn’t care what I and other people think about yours.
@[Deactivated]: Well then my point still l stands that your personality is rude and toxic.
It's one thing to have an opinion but something else to attack others because of that opinion.
You'll die a lonely life.@maverickjohn: To me you’re equally as rude and toxic, you wouldn’t be here arguing with me dropping personal attacks of your own if you weren’t… Again it always takes two. I didn’t attack you personally, I gave my opinion about those things in a general sense, the fact that you have taken it personally is your issue, and clearly you are insecure about yourself and your decisions being that it has bothered you, and have a vain nature as you truly do seem to care what I and other people think about your home and your sense of style and design choices for it, and your choices in general.
@maverickjohn: Glad to see it's not just me that see this guys toxicity for what it is. He's a know-it-all basement dweller that's never wrong (so he thinks) and will always fight to have the last word. If you want to see just how pitifully toxic he is, check out how he claimed that men with soundbars "are a bit on the feminine side preferring the aesthetics of your home over performance, or your woman wears the pants in your relationship and controls decisions more than you do".
Looks like you've been hit with the stalker label also haha Congrats! I don't think he actually realises that you can't just "follow" someone into a thread. It's interesting though that he's completely oblivious to the fact that he's the common denominator for all of his "feuds". But, I guess you need to be able to see outside your own perspective to do that…
Since he's in a relationship with the sound of his own voice, I'll be surprised if he doesn't reply to this comment actually. No doubt he'll be unable to refrain though, because he needs to have the last word.
@KangaDrew: 🤣 This just keeps getting better and better. Thank you for proving what I said just above in my previous post about some members here being crazy weirdo stalkers who follow other members that they have disagreed with before around the site. Remember it’s just a bargain forum mate, it’s quite strange that you seem to view it as so much more.
I haven't had a huntsman in the house since I got a pair of GT-AX11000 Pro
looks good to me. turn it upside down and it looks like some alien creepy crawler
after having router troubles with various brands, I couldn't careless how it looks, as long as it works and it's easy to manage, that's all that really matters. how often are you looking at your router anyway? usually it's only when you're troubleshooting something, no?
ROG is Asus Republic of Gamers brand so it's going to be a spider with lights.
Asus ZenWifi and Asus RT-AX59U have a clean design with internal antennas.
The external antennas help with range.
Couldn't care less about the lights or gaming branding but like the Asus GUI and easily customisable firmware (Merlin etc).Otherwise just go TP-Link if you want a more conservative look. Or spend a lot more for the next tier of equipment
$699 at most local computer stores also.
wow good point! even better!
Definitely helps for people who don't have prime.
Product designer grabs a bottle of mortein to kill of a spider.
lightbulb
spider router, spider router
does whatever a spider router doesrouters hitting 1k soon
You be selling a kidney or taking a second mortgage to afford one.
Unfortunately they have been like that for quite some time. The newest gen particularly from Asus are always over 1k but the moment the newer gen hits. Previous gen drop.
The new wifi 7 is now their leading router hence why this has a price drop. Don't be surprised if this is a new normThey've been 1k for years now lol. This model in particular was well over 1k at launch even in '22.
Needs more antennas.
