its pretty good. my friend uses it for her sticker business
Cricut easypress is a heating plate/iron, but the Cricut maker is a cutting machine.
They have a range of machines, accessories, and other craft stuff. Its a bit saturated now, but people were doing side business making decals, or custom shirts for businesses using Cricut machines. Its a popular brand with craft hobbyistsYeah, we have a maker 3. My wife loves it! I found it confusing to figure out at the start but basically the cricut machines like the maker 3 are basically cutting machines. You use software which is pretty easy to use but a bit annoying at times. We've made custom shirts (cut vinyl & heat it onto t-shirts), bags (cute decals), table cloths, stickers (printable sticker paper, print on it and cut), cards (cut paper and it can hold a pen to write on it - think custom names, messages etc), etc. You can even make puzzles (out of wood etc) and decorations, mobiles for babies and a whole lot of stuff we haven't tried yet. The easypress is like a fancy iron that you can use to carefully control the heat when you're using heat transfer vinyl etc, the exact heat control can be important for some materials.
Bought one for the Mrs a few years back. She loves what she can make with it, when it allows her. The biggest issue is the software. They lock it down and block others who develop better software from accessing their hardware. The best way to use this is by learning how to use software which can output vector files, and import them into cricut maker.
I’m tech savy and even I found their app to be clunky and limited. But if you can jump through the hoops, it’s a decent machine if the things you wish to make fit within the size limitations.
Thank you for all the info OzB fam <3
I realised I actually posted a Cricut Bundle 2 I saw at Costco earlier this year. Bugger, should have picked one up! I didn't understand what it was at the time, I just saw something with a decent discount.
Spolight now selling for $489. Just did price beat at Officeworks to get it for $464.55!
Did u go instore to price match?
I just did it on the phone. Was on hold for almost 20mins, but worth it! Thanks tinetti009!
I did try calling but its closed :(
Did u call the local store or the 1300 number?

No worries
Instore
Missed it. It's now $488 at ow lol
I must have got in just in time. I price matched at around 10am.
Nice :) Enjoy ☺️
$483 now at spotlight lol
Yep just got it price beat at OW in store. Great price!
I got a lot of use out of my cricut. The software is pretty easy to master. You can get rolls of decent quality vinyl thats just as good as cricut stuff but a lot cheaper. I also purchased a selection of blades and they worked great too, again a lot cheaper than cricut. As long as you figure out the right cutting pressure for the material makes your weeding that much easier.
I have the model lower than this (the explore 3), and we have gotten a lot of use out of it.
The things you can do with this one are way beyond what you'd expect for sub-$500.Considering getting one, but the reviews online are putting me off, is this actually true that:
- Design Space software needs to be connected to internet for anything to work? And Cricut servers need to be up and online. So can't use machine unless connected to internet.
- can only save projects on their servers
- can't use your own system fonts
- can't use local images and artwork, unless you upload it to Cricut servers
- Design Space software very crippled unless you pay for a subscription, and still isn't all that great
Essentially, in a few years time, say they went bust, Cricut can just stop you from using your machine turning it into a door stop.
Thank you! Grabbed this for $458.85 today.
Excited to be making wedding invites etc.I assume this has expired now as spotlight shows 699?
If anyone is serious about buying a cutting machine I'd suggest stay well clear of cricut and look at models that have compatibility with existing software tools like the adobe products or open source tools.
Cricut is built to proprietary locked down interfaces I believe they even sued a developer for trying to interface to it. The software is rubbish and won't work offline, plus a lot of the capability is behind a monthly subscription paywall.
There is other options I believe the Silhouette models are not bad.

Anyway before dropping this sort of cash take a look at these articles
Discussion on attempts to make circut work with other tools
https://www.reddit.com/r/cricut/comments/m76y9u/any_software…Also they tried, and may try again to force owners to pay a monthly fee just to use the software.

Does anyone have any feedback about these machines? I saw a "Cricut EasyPress 2" on my friend's gift registry. Is it the same sort of thing?
