New model, 15 grind levels (8 on previous EC9865M). Also 20 second startup appears to be a new feature.
Has two separate thermoblocks but cannot extract and steam milk simultaneously.
Competes with Breville Express Impress Touch ($1799 from Myer):
- This has cold brew and 'espresso cool' functions
- Breville has autodose, more feedback on extraction and suggestions to improve the next shot
- Breville uses the steam wand for automatic milk steaming, this has 'lattecrema' carafe for automatic milk into your mug and a separate manual wand.
- Breville has thermojet so 3 second startup, but only single heating system.
- I went with this as cheaper, interested in the cold drinks and our travel mugs fit in the Delonghi, too big for the Breville.
- Servicing apparently poor compared to Breville.
