  • Seems good?

  • My oz issued VISA debit card works.

    Thanks OP.

Just a reminder, the deal is on the annual Premium account.

    • Worked for me too with an aus VISA debit. :)

saw their rates for 3lb [for vitacost DHL]
way above vitacost for that amount.

    • Vitacost use a middleman shipping company who receive discounted shipping rates as they frequently use the postal service.

MyUS and most other freight forwarders don't have these affiliations so they use standard postage rates + a small % fee.

Worked with my prepaid entropay card. Sweet.

EDIT: Shipping is a bit steep, for a single videogame, the quote is $37.77 before discount.

  • Just a tip - The bank number part in step 3 is the overseas number on the back of your card.

And the bank name is the same as when you're doing a bank transfer.

10kg parcel to Aus was $180.. seems steep?

    • Yerp……bought the Lego Death Star from Amazon - around 9 kg

      Shipping was $40 odd

But then again….if Amazon doesnt ship, you can only use alternatives like these

      • Who seems to be the cheapest out of these companies? I know of Comgateway and PriceUSA and these guys now, not sure how they compare, really.

EDIT: Just found this topic on forums discussing this exact issue: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/74601

    • Yea seems to be the general consensus. Shipping from larger vendors may have more value as they can bulk ship and don't gouge due to competition.

  • So much for privacy.
"Australia import laws can sometimes be difficult to understand which is why MyUS inspects every item we receive and will flag prohibited items for your review. MyUS provides multiple options for handling the prohibited merchandise."

This is pretty standard. They are required by law to fill out customs declarations, and if they're incorrect, its MyUS that cops it, not you, since they are the sender.

    • What are their 'options' for prohibited merchandise?

Either they send it or they don't!

I'm sure they will not send you anything they arbitrarily think is bad in their own Christian judgement - eg bullets, vitamins, candy, porn dvd's, etc if it looks like drugs.

They just don't want the hassle!

So, you paid them, ordered some vitamins and they won't send it. Good luck getting your money back!

The Amex offer (posted before) gives better discounts.

The general consensus I've heard is that their prices are terrible for light weight items, and comparable or better than competitors for heavier items (with the Amex offer discounts factored in).

    • i used amex offer. it is far better. free membership forever.

  • Just be aware that they spam you quite heavily.

    • really? hm never had an issue, signed off of all the emails apart from notifications about parcels arrived and shipped and only had like 1 or 2 emails during the past 2 years saying we have specials etc.

  • what's this amex offer you guys mention?

    • the search box is on the top right of every page.

  • If you register with a visa card can you later pay with a mastercard?

    • I registered with my Amex card, and the requirement for getting 30% off the shipping cost is to pay with the registered Amex. Might be the same for this deal.

Plus, just found out that we do need to pay 7% sales tax for shipping to MyUS as they locate in FL. Wife bought from Victoria's Secret and get charge tax, I called them and state we are physically locate in Australia, but they just charge it based on the shipping address. So MyUS will be 7% more expensive (of the purchase value) than some other mail forwarders locate in tax free states, if buying from merchants like Vic Secrets.

Amazon doesn't charge the tax anyway, so I didn't find out this earlier.
