Another Steam Deck OLED sub $1,000 deal.
Grabbed one as I missed the previous deal from OzBargain
Not all time low, but sharing for those looking to buy one below $1,000 mark.
p.s.: sorry for corrections as I'm not a regular poster of deals.

Ahh I see a fellow kiwi, chur.
This deck is a two hander mate, and full of steam. Valve fans love it.
Oh my god, I just got the valve / steam connection after reading your comment
Well done 👍 It's only been 21 years since Valve launched Steam but we got there in the end. Let's send Gabe a DM to inform him.
@Steven Reece Lewis: Going to start a Xitter account to xweet into the void.
Eh, sub $900 again and maybe I'll talk myself out of buying it again
same, but i keep missing it when it dips below
Just had a kid and I'm up every 3 hours for their feed… can't see myself having the energy to play this anytime soon… at least Balatro is on mobile now!
I found myself gaming 12.40am to 2.50am between the 12am to 3am feeds with twins in sync. Slept 3.40am until 5.50am for the 6am feed. Then GG and handball to other half at 6.40am. One kid Ez, like clockwork. Goodluck sir.
you're a gun mate, I've got one kid and I feed my newborn with both eyes practically closed at those time. My only window is between 7pm-10pm, then i start a nap before my graveyard shift.
I'm still waiting for my late teens to move out before I hit my 250+ steam library
lol I thought they'd be helping you play through them? Bedsides, hit how much do late teens need their parents except for money and to be the cheap Uber driver? Oh and to blame for anything wrong in their life….
I just watched the trailer for Balatro, wtf is going on?
It's a roguelike poker game, but rather than just going for good poker hands (where a royal flush would be the end game), you add joker cards into your deck which buff certain cards/combinations of cards, meaning that a pair of 6s for example could net you billions of points in the right circumstances. It sounds very basic and it kind of is but as games like Vampire Survivors showed us, "number go up" is a pretty strong dopamine release for a lot of people.
IF you are an avid gamer. when i had my kid earlier this year i found i wasn't playing my gaming pc much, but i was investing more time into my miyoo mini plus.
Those small handheld emulators are great. Very easy to pickup and put down (especially between monitoring a new born), and depending on what you play, playing with 1 hand whilst holding a baby that will only sleep in your arms is very possible.
I can confidently say my $50 handheld emulator has gotten more use than my gaming PC this year.
I'll give it a look!
Like the other guy said, get a cheap retro emulator handheld like the Miyoo Mini+ or A30 (or any of the other hundreds of models out there) which can all run Balatro as well as every retro game ever made. You can get them for less than $50.
I've got two kids and I use mine mostly to stream PS5 games and to stream from my desktop PC, unless it's a game where I want as low-latency for quick reactions for games like Cuphead or Souls-like games.
An Odin handheld probably would've suited me better, but I still really like the Steam Deck. I'll sit with my son while he goes to sleep with my Steam Deck ready to go next to me for when he dozes off.
you can stream your ps5 to your steam deck using chiaki too
Yep I mentioned above. Chiaki4Deck works so well. I was genuinely surprised about how responsive latency-wise it was. I was able to beat God of War Ragnarok on it since it was so responsive.
Psychological barrier broken for me. Ordered!
2TB upgrade

$148
Was $850 recently, I'm really enjoying mine, playing Tsushima on between medium-high settings at locked 30fps!
Kids got me one for Father’s Day, amazing device for emulation. Highly recommended 👍
Do you have a spare kid? I got kindergarten arts cards and a $10 "Cool Dad" hat from the Father's day stand at my other child's primary school.
You get a non food present? Mine get me food so they can basically offer me a bit and then eat the rest.
Wise kids if you ask me 😂
Cheers OP.
Or go the other way and buy a desktop /s
Why do you want an inferior product
lol, just get a brain.
Can't this emulate all switch games though haha
Isn't there a rumor that Valve will officially launch in Australia the Steam Deck at PAX Melbourne in a couple of weeks?
And if they do, I will take my grey import steam deck directly to valve here in Australia for any repair warranty issues rather than the marketplace seller on Amazon, lol.
I still can't decide steam oled or Rog ally X…
I'd honestly wait for Steam Deck 2 next year sometime, follow AMD APU hardware to keep up to date, I'd honestly recommend the Steam Deck if highly on sale, Ally X is just too expensive IMO.
Yeah, that’s my thoughts at this point. Have pre-ordered a Retroid Pocket 5 to tide me over (well to be honest it’ll probably mostly be my wife playing nostalgic PS2 games on it)
Those ARM based retro handhelds are pretty cool if priced right, I'm tempted to buy one myself with all the awesome emulators out there.
I've owned SD lcd and oled, and rog ally.
There are pros and cons between SD and Ally that you'll need to weigh up.
In the end I only kept the Rog Ally as thats what suited me.
However between SD oled and Ally X, I'd day go the SD based on price. Ally X is way too expensive for the improvements over SD and Ally.
That being said, as another has pointed out, perhaps weight for next generation.
Just waiting for the Ally X to be discounted at all ..
600 for this would be a deal.
Yes mate, it certainly would
If my grandmother had thumbsticks, she'd be a controller.
Gino!
I am thinking of selling my switch OLED and my 150 physical games for this :D
You bought 150 games? Wtf
yeah its not a very big switch collection but its pretty good.
Got one in the last sale and loving it. So great to play whatever I want on it (games, emulation, etc.) and tons to tinker with.
Do you emulate switch games? Always wondered how that would turn out on a Linux OS
Did some tests and it performance seems to be generally on par or better than actual hardware (bar emulation issues). That said, it takes a lot more setup than other emulators.
This or R36S?
I have had one for about 5 months now, and I consider it a technological marvel.
any idea on how much a hacked switch is worth?
I don't use the thing and want a deck but only want the deck if I get rid of the switch
The idea of a deck being able to run switch games better than a switch can kinda slaps tbh
Anyone can comment about running games on Epic?
Owner the limited edition oled and have to say the steam deck really is amazing.
The best thing in steam support for the device. It's also heaps more repairable compared to the competition. Just Google gamers nexus and the issues with the rog ally.
The oled screen really, really pops and the 90 refresh rate makes some games so buttery smooth.
I played pal world on it earlier this year and it gets between 40-60 fps at low settings. And that's the thing, there are some titles with compromises, but it's still a great experience because of the portability.
God of war, cyber punk, Witcher 3, no man's sky - all fantastic on the deck. Black myth wukong, also on the deck, which is just insane.
Im currently in japan for another week so trying to decide what to buy tax free. The prices are the following with conversion. I already have the money coverted so these prices won't change.
What would you guys buy at these prices?
Steam deck 512 $770
Steam deck 1tb $900
Asus rog ally x $1220
You won't catch me without my deck in my hand.
