I don't think Officeworks will accept as you need membership to costco to get that price,.,

    • +4

Hmmm sometimes I've got Officeworks to price beat. Depends on the person

      • +5

        What’s the spell ?

        • +1

You have to employ a commercial litigator and agree to pay the employee when officeworks docks their pay for giving out a discount.

        • +2

@life is suffering abracadabra maybe, not sure I have never really used spells before ;)

        • Generally being nice and respectful of the salesperson works wonders!

    • I think their general policy now is that they can price beat against Costco but I guess YMMV.

    • +1

Yeah, everytime i've tried they've said Costco doesn't count as its a members only price. :(

    • I was told No at checkout a few weeks ago (for A55) asked her to double check and she was told ok to price beat.

  • +1

Would have to be some idiot staff member to allow PB on this since they clearly dont accept membership prices but i guess ppl have been successful in the past so cant knock em for trying

    • you can call ow pb helpline and they will do it.

      • +17

I've got it in writing from head office that they price beat costco.

Email [email protected] for confirmation, they when they try to squirm out of it in store show them the email.

    • +13

You call them idiots, I call them legends

      • depends on who you get right? lol

      • -1

yeah legend for losing his job by helping you

        thats the True Murican spirit

  • Any specials on the iPhone 16 Pro? I have $3 to spend.

    • +2

might get ya a nice screen protector of ebay

  • +10

I just called and they price matched Costco for me. I got the normal 16 for $1282, I’m sure they’ll match the plus too as long as there is still stock.

    • Price match and not price beat?

      • +2

        Sorry yup, price beat*

    • Officeworks Campbelltown just price beat a base iPhone16 128GB white in person for me… $1282.49 paid. Click and collect as many stores don’t have it in stock.

    • confirmed, i did same last week at OW in melbourne. $1282 for base iphone 16. The OW staff member only checked which colours are in stock in Costco (eg. they wouldn't give Ultramarine if Costco is out of stock). PB is only for exact same colour, so got Teal model. Staff did not ask me for my Costco card (which i carried anyways).

Great phone for the price. Just the camera and video experience is worth it for socials, no need to buy a Fujifilm X100V or whatever is the hype today, if youre targeting socials or Whatsapp.

    • thanks, I called and managed to get the same! Couldn't get the Black or Ultramarine since they were out of stock at Costco, but managed to get the Teal for $1282

  • +1

Currently waiting for the pros to get in stock and going pb at Officeworks

Currently the cheapest on the market even for the phone plans.

  • +2

Had no issue getting OW to price beat this last week - used the discount gc from aldi also

  • +2

My 12 pro max still running strong. No reason to truly upgrade yet. (I have an slr camera for pictures, 60hz is fine for me). Battery at 78% health which isn't ideal, but I usually have a 6000mah magsafe battery pack with me, and worst case can pay some phone kiosk to pop in a new one. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

    • claim new phone on tax if u use it for work, much cheaper than it really is

    • -1

In the same boat but with an XR. Not convinced yet

    • Just get a new battery for the 12 max and you won't have to carry around that battery pack.

    • Not worth it unless you really need the additional computing power. Carrying a battery pack is hardly a real inconvenience.

  • +3

They really need to have moved to 120hz.

Everytime I use my wife's one, it's just so painful when you move between screens.

    • Then why buy the 16 Plus instead of 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 Pro / Pro Max?

  • +1

    any iPhone 16 256GB option? only 128GB available :'(

  • +1

I was able to get Apple to price match Costco for the Pro

    • +3

That doesn't sound true at all. Apple is a very firm take it or leave it stance in their stores.

      • They match with other local stores unless its marked for clearance or attached to any special promos. But surprising to hear if they did any matching to costco which requires membership

      • +3

Why on earth would I lie about that?

In fact, I got it price matched on two iPhones 16 Pro’s (on different days).
On the invoice comes up as “promotional savings”.
At first they said no, and I asked why and was advised that they could do so.

        • +1

Fair enough, assumed it was more a mistake than a lie. Things must've changed as I'd had a response from Apple along the lines of "Well walk down to JB and get it for $50 less then" several years ago.
Anyway, my bad and good to know!

        • Wanting the 16 pro myself. If you don’t mind what price did you get it for from apple? I just looked on the Costco site and didn’t see the pro.

          • @ern123: Got the 16 Pro Max 256 for $2079.99 (Price match from Costco).
All I did was ring Apple support and they price matched and I picked up in store..
Looks like Costco has all Pro’s for ~$70 discount.
            16 Pro 256gb is $1929.99.
Just google whatever phone you want and put Costco on the end and you should get the price.

For what it is worth I am not a Costco member, nor did they ask.

            • @stuarty9: Thanks for that

            • @stuarty9: They price beat even costco is out of stock?

              • @Juhui: Wondering the same thing, guessing not. I was looking for the 16pro but not listed as available. However if anyone has had a go and maybe gotten lucky please let me know

  • Myself and wife have iPhone SE 2nd gen we are looking to treat ourselves to iPhone 16 or older 15 or 14 if price is right.
We use boost as our phone provider and prefer not to have contracts.

What’s the big differences with the 16, 16 plus, and pro max?
Maybe the basic iPhone 16 is enough? Or worth the upgrade?

I don’t see much deals on the 15 or 14 have they already come and gone as some are close price currently to the 16

    • 16 has the AI capabilities.

    • If you've gotten used to a SE then anything bigger in size is a big upgrade.
I'm in the exact same boat as you and have been waiting for a deal for anything for or above the 13.

The main difference between the models in the 16 is display size and battery. But even the basic 16 would beat the stuff out of the SE 2nd gen in all aspects, unless you prefer the SE's smaller form factor.

I'll keep waiting until something comes up. Not keen on contracts either but may have to settle if nothing better comes up.

      • The se is handy as fits in pocket and some of these phones now are huge people must have very deep pockets these days

    • There are rumours of a new SE model coming in March/April next year, with a design similar to the iPhone 14 notch and all, which I'm hoping is true.

Apple (un)Intelligence requires more RAM (6GB not enough for last year's 15 & plus;) That's why even 2y older & much cheaper Galaxy phones have FREE→♥ AI now as Samsung was generous with RAM (more memory is also required for split/multi-window parallel/backgrouind processing ;).

  • If you know someone who works at Apple, I think the friends and family discount is 15%. So a 128GB plus model is ~$1360.
