  • Just bought this from Target

  • 6.50 each?

    • -1

If you ignore the other goods found in the box, yes.

      • Yeah those 'goods' hold almost no value. This is still extremely overpriced

        • -1

          How is that overpriced?

The cheapest boosters ever have been is $5.

Those who have opened these boosters get much better pulls, much the videos.

1 etched foil promo card featuring Armarouge ex $12 on eBay
2 foil promo cards featuring Charcadet and Ceruledge $4 each on eBay
6 Pokémon TCG booster packs $5 each
1 magnetic card protector with display base (this is awesome, would be $10 to $15 if you had to buy this separately
65 card sleeves featuring Armarouge and Ceruledge $5

So that's $30 for boosters, $20 for the cards, $15 for the stand and $5 for the sleeves = $70

And you say it's still EXTREMELY OVERPRICED, get a clue mate, you have no idea.

          • +1

@RocketSwitch: Boosters are regularly 4.80 in Coles. Pokemon cards are awful quality and printed by the truckload every minute. Massively overpriced at $7rrp.

As an old school card collector there is no reason for the price to be so high other than Nintendo want that bank.

            • @initiateit: Lol. Let me know how the sale of all the wonderful inclusions in this box works out for you champ. Rooting for you.

          • +1

@RocketSwitch: I'm not sure if you're trolling or not but I've bought $1000s of booster packs, and the only ones I've spent over $5 a pack for are holiday sets such as 151.

I love that you itemised the junk in this box with prices you'll never get. Please, look at ebay solds of the crap in this box. $5 for 65 sleeves… Lol

The prices you put on those promos…

Anyway mate, if you see this as good value, be my guest and buy this garbage. Any pokemon collector or investor isn't touching it though.

Shame I'm the one with no idea though.

            • -4

@CustardShot: Alright, not going to keep explaining, if you cannot understand what I wrote, then good luck.

              • -1

@RocketSwitch: I think they saw the $80 dollar price point, $39 hasn't register in their brain yet. Or they can't read, maybe throw some Monsters straight at their head might knock some sense in them. The other one is to stop people buying them since they are stocking them up for the next paycheck.

                • +1

@luckydan: How many did you buy sunshine?

                • -1

@luckydan: I think so. I like to see them try get all the exact contents of what's inside this for under $39.

The card protector itself goes for $12.

That's already $41 even if you got the boosters at the ATL price.

And these guys are saying it's EXTREMELY OVERPRICED.

Absolutely NO IDEA and can't do basic price checking.

What they expect it to be? $10 LOL Anyway, no need to feed the trolls.

        • One touches are usually like $4-5 each. Promos are also a few dollars. It sounds like you don't like Pokemon at all. Why are you even looking?

          • @Ryven: Sorry fellas. I've got to agree. A mid box not suitable for collector/investor and at this price it isnt cheap enough for rippers.

I would be amazed if anyone is buying those promos off you. Maybe if you sell them as a pack of 10.

  • +8

Pretty average even at that price. $20 would be a deal

    • +2

      💯

    • -2

Good luck with that, it will never be that.

      • It will end up at that price. Probably at target etc. Maybe prime day/black friday.

Combined powers for $48 or Paldea Adventure chest at $35 are better value at the moment.

  • +2

The RRP on this insanely overpriced.

    • collectors still pay full price on preorders because of FOMO LMAO

    • -3

Not if you're paying full price for boosters.

  • Anyone know which recent expansions have more of the gen 1 pokemon?

    • +2

Scarlet & Violet: 151 is exclusively gen 1. It will be hard to find though.

      • Holding out for that reprint yo!

        • Same… Whenever it finally happens lol

          • @CustardShot: Costco had a pallet each or something about a month ago of the premium collection, apparently people were walking out with trolley fulls and it lasted all of 1 day.

            • @Whodis: 1 hour in WA. One guy bought the whole pallet. They did not have customer purchase limits.

They went straight onto market place at $200 a pop…

  • I wouldn't get this and wait till it comes down further. $6.50 per pack for 2xParadox Rift, 2xObsidian Flames and 2xTemporal forces are still pretty expensive even if you apply GC + Amazon cashbacks (call them 10% off which makes them ~$5.85 each):
    1. PR and TF are like $5 everywhere now per blister (EB games, etc) which could go down to $4.60 each if you have the right GC deals.
    2. OF is the worst performing set of SV era, apart from the zards, everything has low value.

And lets not pretend like the other crap they put in there has any value.

    • -6

      Okay lets go and anaylse

      6 Pokémon TCG booster packs.
      6.5 * 6 = $39 dollars (woopsie)

At best $4 dollars for collectors who don't want or can't afford a box

1 etched foil promo card featuring Armarouge ex
2 foil promo cards featuring Charcadet and Ceruledge

      • 65 card sleeves featuring Armarouge and Ceruledge
1 magnetic card protector with display base
Now this is a biggie. TELL ME when did you get free card sleeves WE ARE WAITING. WE all know you have to pay for these card sleeve at least $10 dollars for 60 so TELL US ALL WHERE YOU GET THESE FREE CARD SLEEVES SUNSHINE.

Scummy tactic to divert people to not buy these.

      • +1

Yeah because people buy these things for the sleeves and not the cards. Dumbass

We recently just had a 46 dollars Paldean Fates ETB and guess what it had, 9 boosters and your so wanted card sleeves. It's a much better value objectively.

Dont sass if you dont know what youre talking about, you sound like a clown.

        • I do, I sleeve my decks with them.

The fact you're removing value of items in this pack is BS.

You can't just remove the shit you're getting from this pack.

      • +1

Those sleaves are not great for high value cards anyway (too coarse). Penny sleaves are $2 for 100 at Target.

    • So waste your time trying to find a few dollars off boosters than just getting this? lol

But the crap does have value. Like it or not.

      • If you buy only 5 boosters during your lifetime, then it will likely not matter.

Tell me, how many boosters have you bought so far?

        • Not one. I buy only when these are about half their price or less. Like V and ex boxes.

Like the Annihilape ex for $25 at JB and Mabosstiff ex for $22 at Kmart.

So yeah, looks like if it's $5ish for it for boosters, I'll buy the box. But, it's worth it as you get the extra cards or jumbo cards.

          • @RocketSwitch: No one looks for jumbo cards oh my god just because you like it doesnt mean it's valuable.

  • What kind of packs are ideal to purchase and collect ?

How do you know if you pull a valueble card ? Is there a site to check ?

    • +1

Really depends on what you look for (high value cards or good full arts). I always use tcgcollector.com because they show market price in USD accompanied by the card art itself.

Though unless you like opening packs for opening packs (i.e. gambling basically), buying single cards you want from marketplace like ebay is objectively the cost effective solution.

      • Thanks for the tips.

  • Picked up a pack and pulled a Obsidian Flames Ninetales Illustration Rare (off-centre though) sad face.

Not a good collect option. Buy to open.

    • +1

Thats a stunning card! Love it.
