If you are after a quality hand impact driver, this set is currently on sale at probably ATL price. I have found in some cases this kind of tool useful than battery powered one. Hope this deal helps with someone who is in the market.

    Thanks op grabbed one :)

  • How does it work? Do you attach a ratchet to it?

  • In what scenarios can it be applied?

    • Updated the post with some reference, HTH

It might work better than a powered impact driver for worn down screws as you are applying forward force as well as loosening all in on motion.
I've stripped plenty of screws with my cordless impact driver due to it jumping out whilst tightening or loosening

I've got an impact driver on hand for rusted/seized bolts, frees them up pretty neatly

There is no way this is $400 normally? I was watching the Kincrome one and it is $75 normally.

  • Oos at that price

    $425 now… ouch

It’s no surprise that Wera make one of these but far out it’s expensive.

I wanted to get one of these a while ago but forgot about it.

I was doing some work a few years ago in an electrical substation replacing a damaged door.

We were struggling to get some screws out and the old bloke from Ausgrid who opened up for us pulled one of these out from his Ute, it wasn’t Wera and I actually took a photo of it to research it.

Anyways, in reverse it worked to loosen the rusted screws enough for us to get them out by hand. Our battery impact drivers would’ve snapped the heads for sure.

Old bloke turned out to be a long retired carpenter and what he pulled out was a very old manual impact driver.

Handy in some situations but I can’t imagine getting value out of it for $400. More of a niche tool. It’s been 5 years since that day and I can’t recall another situation on the job where I would’ve benefited from having it.

  • Damn! Cool design, shame I missed this.. 😪
