    Cheap blow

  • Bought these few months back. One light bump and it chipped and was blowing bubbles out of its double wall. IKEA warranty returns good though.

  • M'ship required. m'kayyyy.

  • Be mindful that most double walled glasses are terrible for longevity. They will eventually leak into the 'sealed' hole at the base of the cup.

I've had probably 10-15 of these cups over the years each one of them leaked into that base hole.

At $2 though, seems good value, but they'll still have the same issue as the $15 a cup ones.

The Bodum ones have a silicone plug at the bottom. When I get cheap double wall glasses I copy the Bodum method by putting a tiny dab of translucent silicone over the hole and then put the cup onto a sheet of baking paper to cure which gives the silicone plug a nice flat finish. Some of my oldest ones are 10 years old and go through the dishwasher regularly.

  • Double wall glasses are not practical. They have very thin walls and break easily.

    • Especially if you don't have a dishwasher and do the washing up in the sink. But at $2 each…

    • Also they are mugs well suited for tea and coffee.

      • The only annoying thing is how the design at the bottom isn't square so it's prone to toppling over if you accidentally bump it.

(Happened a few times at work with coffee)

    • I've got a couple from AliExpress that get used daily and washed in the sink with everything else and they are more than seven years old. I guess it depends how well they are designed and made. i.e. the Kogan ones are garbage and only lasted a few weeks.

I have the Kmart ones and they are going well for last 2 years.

    Bought each at $5.

  • Thanks Op.
