Nexus 7 32GB - Wi-Fi $259, 3G $329 + $19 Delivery @ Kogan

110

Title says it all really. Lowest price I've seen for the 3G version so far.

Dunno what Kogan's delivery time will be like in the leadup before xmas, but by the look of things local retaillers (e.g. JBHifi, Good Guys) are still awaiting limited stock of the 3G which was meant to start selling this week…

Good deal - for those who are new Kogan are terrible to try and deal with.

There is no live form of contact - just emails. Their delivery times leave a lot to be desired - if its not Kogan branded expect 3ish weeks, even then they have proved multiple times that they sell items before getting stock (which means after waiting 2ish weeks they just refund the money).

All-in-all this is a very good deal just wanted to make people aware that Kogan can be very difficult to deal with sometimes.

Never have I read a comment that describes Kogan so perfectly. Expect this to arrive sometime mid-February.

      • ive never used kogan but decided to buy an ipad mini for the daughter for xmas i wanted to use my paypal balance so i thought id try kogan as apple will not take paypal. i oreder the ipad mini last tuesday and it is not even dispatched yet i sent them an email yesterday all i got back was a generic email saying 3to5 days to dispatch. i ordered a cover from apple the same day that arrived monday. KOGAN are hopeless first and last time i deal with them

Not to mention Kogan's Nexus tablets have British (Hong Kong) plugs. Instead of providing a converter, Kogan adds 1000mA no-brand USB adapters (half of the original 2000mA adapter and probably inadequate to actually charge the tablet). And they don't tell you this when you buy it.
Sorry, no more Kogan for me.

      • i read that the nexus can only charge at 1000mA max anyway, regardless of the adapter.

  • I've already pre-ordered my 3G Nexus with DSE for $369. Combined with the usual 5% off wishcards, its down to $350.55 (ok $1.55 more than Kogan). I'd prefer this to dealing with Kogan… especially if you have a bad dead/stuck pixel.

Shame i missed out on the 10% off DSE ones yesterday :(

i would recommend getting the 3g version from B&H
    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/899687-REG/ASUS_nexus7…

ends up costing ~$325 including postage after conversion
they'll be alot quicker to deal with too

    • The one from BHPhoto says 4G!!!

      • unfortunately u.s. 4G isn't the same as our 4G :(

Price match at OW would bring down to 246 bucks!!!!

    • Do officeworks price match products from Kogan?

      • Most will not price match Kogan as it is not a local store and not in stock, but no harm in trying. Some people have reported that they had success with specific stores. Good luck.

        • I disagree. My friend went in with the 32gb nexus 7 Kogan ad showing price + shipping and they happily beat it by 5%. Mum then went and did the exact same thing two days later…

        • As I said, some people have not had success. Others have succeeded like your friend and mum at that one store. Its a bit of hit and miss, but if you read their T&C it is clear on their policy. Although it doesn't say it has to be local store. No doubt they will make some excuse about the Kogan warranty not being the same as local warranty. Anyway, good on your friend and mum for getting it matched.

        • I got it matched as well. The 17 year old kid was talking about the warranty not being the same. I asked him to get manager and then it was not a problem at all.

  • What's the GPS like? Do you need the 3G for it like iPad?

    • GPS works well the built in one provided by google (needs data) or you can buy one off the play store.

I have one using it with wifi at home and when im out over 3G with amaysim and works 100%.

My 8GB non-3g nexus 7 is fitted with a GPS, so no you don't need it for GPS.

  • Slightly cheaper at eglobaldigitalcameras

  • Computer Alliance in Brisbane have them in stock for $249 & $299 pickup or extra $10 postage

    http://www.computeralliance.com.au/tablets

    • Wifi-only versions

    • must get new glasses, sure I read 3G there this afternoon. Sorry

  • I do wish people could tell the difference when posting the difference between the Nexus7 32gb and the 32gb with 3G (+4G US only). B&H have it for $338US which isnt bad at all… It will come with the wrong charger for AU but thats easy fixed, just make sure its the new higher 2000mah USB or just use an apple ipad one.
