Not a bad VPN, speeds were good, customer support was good, however Netflix reported I was using a VPN every now and then, but Amazon picked up I was using it 100% of the time.

Unfortunately I went over to Surfshark, been pretty good since then for streaming.

    • +4

If you use the Residential IP add-on (included free with this promo), you can access any site without being blocked.

      • How are the speeds with Residential IP?

        • +2

We recently upgraded speeds at our LAX and Tampa locations to 10 gigabit, so our Residential IP VPN servers in these locations are just as fast as the rest of our network.

      • Gotcha, so if I'm in Australia and use your VPN Residential IP add-on, won't that just show me content in US?

Also, I know this might get asked, so jumping in, do current customers get the free Res add-on?

        • Yes, you can use the Residential IP add-on for US locations and still access the 50+ countries with shared IPs. Current customers can also take advantage of the upgrade—just contact our support desk to redeem it.

  • Do you have a Residential IP add-on for Australia?

    • We do have dedicated IPs for Australia, but at this time, Residential IP VPN add-ons are only available for US locations: LAX, Dallas, and Tampa.

Can anyone comment on using this service for sport?

Car racing for me, F1 and Indycar. Or sportball for others.

    • I don’t understand the question. Using it for sport how? It’s a VPN.

      • To stream sport services..

        • -7

What sport services? It’s a VPN. The question fundamental doesn’t make sense. I don’t think you understand what this is.

          • +5

@PainToad: Streaming platforms not available here cannot always be accessed by all overseas vpns. There is a cold war arms race going on between platforms geoblocking users and blocking various vpn providers.

It is, in fact, you who doesnt fully understand the issue being discussed.

          • -2

@PainToad: Geoblocked sport streaming services that are bypassed using a VPN. I don't think YOU understand what this is.

            • -2

              @aupleb: @Ademos @aupbleb

No you both have no idea. If you’re asking about this services ability to get around geoblocking you need to 1) actually ask that (VPNs are used for many reasons besides geoblocking) 2) actually say what streaming services you want to unblock. Just saying “for sports” means nothing.

              🙄

              • @PainToad: You sound as angry as me PainToad LOL, and yes, the question should have been made a lot more clearer "Can anyone comment on this VPN being able to stream sports like Kayo from another country".

                • -2

@BatmanAU: I like helping people. But it's hard when the question is incomplete.

                  • -1

@PainToad: Seriously, why was I voted down for this? Absolute clowns.

      • What I mean is, to anyone using a VPN to bypass geoblocking, is it an effective solution and is this service suitable. Or if not what are other people using.

F1 requires Kayo and Indycar Stan with the Stan sport add on (afaik?), which is around $100 last time I looked.

F1 TV is an option as well as some free services for Indycar in the USA. Also WEC if anyone is reading this far please and thank you :D

        Edit: spelling

        • +3

You might be more interest in GetFlix. They support F1 TV https://www.getflix.com.au/channels/formula1-tv/

          • @PainToad: Thank you, I’ll check it out

            • +1

@Agileduck: look up SmartDNS. That's what GetFlix, dns4me, and other proxy-based services are.(most VPN companies sell the service too).

basically you Change your DNS settings either on your device or router. When you're logging into F1 TV, Netflix, ESPN BBC, etc it temporarily diverts you through their proxy servers in that country, so they think your there (like a VPN), then when you're streaming you connection goes directly to their server, so there's no lag.

TLDR: like PainToad suggested use a SmartDNS as they get the fastest connection when streaming.

  • When does the offer expire?

    • This offer is valid through October 23rd.

  • Needs more aussie servers, one is not enough.

    • +1

We have multiple servers in Australia. When you connect to the Sydney location, you will be routed to the fastest server.

  • I'm a VPN customer currently, how does this offer stack with current service?

    • Thank you for your support! Current customers can take advantage of this offer by submitting a support ticket. Our team will upgrade you to the 3-year plan at 70% off and activate your Residential IP add-on. Just let them know if you prefer LAX or Tampa.

      • But what would the term be in this case?

        • +1

The free Residential IP add-on comes with a three-year upgrade term on top of your existing subscription.

  • Do plans renew at the discounted rate, or return to full price? Got a previous 70% off deal a while back.

Edit: checking my plan, looks to be locked at the discounted rate

    • +2

Once you redeem the discount, you are locked in at that rate, even for renewals. If you have a previous promo, you can still renew with this deal and get the free add-on.

  • question for the uneducated - i'm on a nord sub that's coming up to expire in December.

would this VPN be a similar like-for-like to that service? I've never tried TorGuard but reviews/comparisons seems positive?

    • +1

Yes, TorGuard offers a similar VPN service with comparable server locations and speeds. The main difference is that TorGuard's app is strictly VPN-focused—no antivirus features—while also offering high-quality IPs and Residential IP add-ons, which set us apart.

      • Is it safe to say that TorGuard clients aren't "the product", like clients of VPN providers that actually pay the client?

    • +3

      I would definitely pick TorGuard.

Nord is only popular because they pay shills on YouTube.

      • +1

and they hand out almost free subs on here via CR/SB/TCB.

If you don't need it for security reasons, their product is quite good.

    • Thanks for the replies - with an ongoign discount … might be worth a try i guess :)

      • +2

Thanks for giving us a test drive! We also offer a money-back guarantee if you're not happy for any reason :)

  • Hi Rep, you get get a discount on a second dedicated IPs for Australia added. $12 per month is way above PIA and Nord.

    • +2

With this 70% off discount and free Residential IP add-on, TorGuard remains more affordable, offering a unique experience that others don’t provide. For the second dedicated AU IP add-on, we can also extend the 70% discount—just contact our support desk and mention that TorGuard's OzBargain rep referred you.

      • Can the included IP address with the Anonymous VPN Pro plan be a Streaming IP, which if purchased alone costs the same as a dedicated IP, or does it have to be a dedicated (DC) IP? Doing the math, 70% for the add-on IP still adds up a fair bit over 3 years if added to the base plan, to the point that buying 2x of the base plan with this promotion or getting the VPN Pro plan with the additional dedicated IP works out better.

If my maths doesn’t fail me, in USD:

Anonymous VPN (+ bonus residential IP)
        1 Residential IP
        Per 3 Year - $46.20 USD
        Per Year - $15.4

Anonymous VPN Pro (includes dedicated IP) (+ bonus residential IP)
        1x Dedicated IP + 1x Residential
        Per 3 Year - $82.50
        Per Year - $27.5

Anonymous VPN + Extra Streaming IP Addon (+ bonus residential IP)
        1x Streaming IP + 1x Residential
        Per 3 Year - $132.49 USD
        Per Year - $44.16

Either way, worth maybe considering the Pro plan.

        • Ok so reached out. As a previous customer, I swapped from a streaming plan to this one retaining one of my two previous (streaming) IPs. My old plan was extended by the 3 years and no time forfeited. Old plan was a 2 year term, but this ones slightly cheaper and the residential IP might prove useful over the streaming one.

FWIW for anyone reading this, TorGuards supports always been pretty amazing. The residential IP I was supplied didn’t work. Went through about 10 messages back and forth with support before I was issued a new IP that worked. What stood out is that I never needed to wait more than 10 minutes when I updated my ticket to get a response. I’ve raised 4 or 5 tickets in the past and this has been pretty typical, with maybe 18hours or so being the slowest ticket response time. Really recommend in that regard.

          • @Smigit: I used them years ago. They had zero hesitation to stack time/deals & give large benefits. Mad deals.
Support responses were fast, usually a few hours, sometimes minutes.
I hardly used it, due to the endless issues I had trying to reset passwords & getting the supplied mini smart routers to stay working. By rough memory, resetting device password (not account) could only ever be done 5 times, and you're stuck with it.
Tried online support, and never got direct answers, or a fix to the issues. Frustrating & tiring.
That said, they gave time-credit for my lack of ability to use their service. Used the browser aspect until time ran out, and used another provider.
            Time to try again

  • Misleading price in title revised: There is no month-to-month payment option at US$1.28. An upfront payment for US$46.20 is required.

Future deal posts with misleading per month prices instead of upfront amount in the titles will be removed without revision.

  • +1

@TorGuardVPN, I will be signing up with the 3 year plan.
Please fix your checkout page, the "click to select" is also adding to cart and when I'm trying to make my selection or looking at what's available it is very frustrating and annoying…

  • OK this is a super deal, and torguard has been solid for me for many years.

  • @TorGuardVPN
    I have just signed up.
How do I get the free residential IP onto my account?

  • +1

This is a great deal. I'm not sure that people realise that the 70% discount is recurring for future renewals. I'm now getting my VPN for cheaper and as residential IP for free as well.

  • +1

I'll try on my pc later instead of my phone, but its really not clear how to get this deal. Nothing seems to show the bonus residential bit.

    • +1

Are you a new or existing customer? I am an existing customer and followed the reps instructions and raised a ticket to apply to my existing account. They raised an invoice, I paid and they have emailed instructions on how to setup including my IP address.

      • Same question as above new customer. Thx

      • New

  • +2

@TorGuardVPN, can you post a step how to add obtain this deal? Does the addon need to be added manually or does it come with just the single selection of the anonymous VPN?

It's just not very clear when you're about to proceed the payment what's included in the price.

    Thanks

  • Hi there, I have never used TourGuard before. My Windscribe subscription is expiring so I thought I would give TourGuard a try now. I tried availing this deal but residential IP add-on does not seem to get discounted to free with the coupon code.

The steps I followed: added anonymous VPN option with 3 years billing cycle then from the add-on lists added dedicated residential IP (tried with dedicated regular IP as well) for Los Angles or Dallas, added the coupon code in the cart but it didn't make the dedicated regular or residential IP free. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?

    • +1

I believe you register and then would raise a support ticket requesting the IP and stating which of the locations you want it based at. Wish it was clearer on the information page, but I don’t think you’d use the add-on on the signup page.

This was the process previously when I signed up for the Streaming plan which had two dedicated IPs. They were allocated post signup. I posted above, but support is very responsive.

      • Thanks @smigit will give it a try.

        • Their steps didn't work?

          • How to Get Your Free Residential IP with TorGuard

Getting your free Residential IP is as easy as following these simple steps:

Visit TorGuard and select the three-year VPN plan.

Enter the promo code: MYRESIP at checkout to get 70% off your plan.

Claim your free Residential IP add-on in either the LAX or Tampa location.

          • @Ulysses31: after i signed up - got the VPN activation email pretty quickly stating service was active.
The Residential IP wasn't automatically provisioned even though the 'MYRESIP' promo code was used.

Just raised a support tick to state I joined using promo code for the free Residential IP add-on and stated the location I wanted. Then got a reply within the hour with my allocated Residential IP and instructions on how/where to use.

            Fairly straight forward and easy

  • im trying to redeem this but it is saying the promotion code does not exist, ive added anonymous vp triennially and inputting code

    any ideas?

    • It's probably expired? Mind you would think the rep would enter the correct expiry date on his own deal. Shame that the rep seems to have hit and run. Their support is excellent though and they usually respond to tickets in minutes.

    • just tried - it still accepts it? 70% off

  • Still works, just signed up. Use the code and pay, then after you are logged-in create a support ticket and request the free residential IP (and dedicated IP if on Pro).

  • Can this be used in China?

  • have trouble connecting to sydney, new zealand seems to be more consistent

    • +1

I use Sydney all the time without issues. More is my ISP for reference.
