    Ummm price?

    Colour Technology: Quantum Dot Technology

Does it have any Quantum dots, though?

Amazing how a TV of this price is still only 60hz refresh rate.

    • +27

Damn, that Hz to hear that

  • Seems pricey. I paid less than this earlier in the year for an 85" Hisense Mini-LED.

    • Is this the one?

Somehow no ratings review for this Q6NAU

Because this is a brand new 2024 model which is just launched so there's really currently no proper reviews. Not many people even have this TV yet. But paying $1888 for a QLED 4K 60Hz TV even being 85" is a ripoff in my opinion.

        • feel like you might know quite a bit about TVs. In no hurry, what's the unicorn I should be aiming for?.Want big screen. What's best bang for buck out there or that one deal we should snap up once it's available for $x. So lost on the models these days I don't have a clue what to get. Appreciate any brand, model, size, cost information you'd recommend. Cheers.

@seamonkey: It depends somewhat on your budget and what size exactly you're after. You really need to decide on how much you want to spend and then whether you prefer going bigger or better quality image.

If you're wanting something around 85" and in a price range similar to this, then really you should be aiming for something with at least full array local dimming or, even better, mini-LED and 120Hz refresh. That should be possible for under $1900. Both TCL and Hisense have solid models that should be in this price range when on sale.

Yes that's the one. I get that it's a 2023 model on clearance vs a 2024 model, but I know which one would look better.

    • And would you believe that the RRP of this TV is actually $2799 which i believe is a total joke. It shows the RRP on the product page from Hisense.

$1799 delivered (seems to be only free delivery to captital city post codes) from a place called Powerland. But it seems to be on backorder and shipping late September.

    What about the TV?

Smart TV Operating System: VIDAA U7

  • +1

I would not recommend VIDAA OS to anyone. Lacks many apps, slows down over time and no OTA updates after purchase. I know you can connect an apple tv or Chromecast which I already do but the problem is your regular TV operations like switching between channels, turning the TV on takes few seconds to a minute at times.

    • turning the TV on takes few seconds to a minute at times.

      A minute? WTF?

      • Not to mention it just hangs every now and then. Have to power off and on to reset.

    • +1

I got ota update on my p7, it was 3 years later. And it actually starting causing crashes after that.

      Never again vidaa stinks

  • Purchased a Hisense tv a couple of years back and very happy with it. This was the deal I guess: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/710745

  • Recently purchased a Hisense TV. So far, so good. I did read a lot of complaints about the smart TV features (laggy interface, Wifi dropouts etc.). It is running Vidaa OS (whatever that is), as opposed to the US variant which has Google TV. TBH I have only interacted with it to tweak some settings, and it's been fine. Also allows you to bypass account setup, so it's pretty non-intrusive for basic TV functions. If you're after apps, I'd just connect a dedicated device for that.

    • I thought that Vidaa OS was Hisense's custom version of Google TV that the company developed. But i may be wrong.

      • +1

Nah, Vidaa OS definitely doesn’t have anything to do with Google TV. It would probably be less shit then :(

        • Well glad that my TV comes with Google TV however it's a TCL.

But funny how they charge $1888 for a Hisense QLED 60hz 4K panel when my TCL 43" QLED 4K TV is 60Hz which i paid less than $600 for. Why are 85" TV at this price point still stuck on 60Hz.
