18% for Hotels and 10% for Flights is for 2 hours only, rates drop to 13% for Hotels and 9% for Flights at 1:59am AEST for the rest of the day.

Uncapped (the bonus cashback is capped at $100 per purchase).

Cashback is not available through the Trip.com app.

Cashback exclusions

These items are not eligible for Cashback:

  • Expenditure outside of the room rate (eg. in-room dining, spa etc)
  • Bookings on external partner pages
  • Bundle Orders (More than one product in a single transaction)
  • Bookings that use promo codes

We calculate Cashback based on the purchase price, excluding:

  • Fees
  • Taxes
  • Service charges
  • Booking fees
  • Any amounts paid using store credit redemption
  • Credit card charges

This Cashback deal is not valid together with:

  • Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit purchase
  • Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit redemption
  • Promos or Vouchers not featured on ShopBack

Special notes from store

  • Cashback is confirmed and redeemable 75 days after stay date.

        • I was hoping it wasn't the case as well, bought $950 flight. $314 was ticket fare and $621 Taxes and fees + $15 booking fee. Tracked at $31.

          • @Bearboi: Ok, I actually book more tickets of the same flight (as I'm buying for my group), and initially on Trip.com it'd show something like 80% fare, 20% tax or so, but once I paid, the invoice actually becoming the reverse similarly to your case. So, rather click bait things from Trip.com to avoid paying cashback I guess.
            We need the flight anyway, regardless the cashback, so can't be too mad on that, but just disappointing

  • have to skip as Trip.com does not allow me to book with my longer-than-8-character-name. It says "Sorry, this passenger's English full name exceeds 8 characters. Please enter the passenger's name in accordance with the Passenger Name Guidelines or book directly with the airline."

    • I believe in those circumstances you can contract the part of your name that is too long to just the initial and a period.

      • It says incorrect name may result in denying to board, also says middle name has to be entered. Basically, I need to skip the whole middle name to went through the booking process.
        It is just a pathetic bug when they made the web/app.

        • I think it's an ICAO/IATA limit, some airlines may not enforce it but many do to meet the IATA/ICAO standards.

  • Best price hotel tips:
    Search your desired hotel in google and analyse the cheapest options via google. The price is nearly always cheaper clicking through google to Agoda & booking.com rather than using the apps directly. I also found rates frequently cheaper by clicking through from google to TripAdvisor to Agoda/Booking.com. Compare normal google tab and incognito tab. You may be required to uninstall your booking.com and Agoda apps in order to get the best prices as these apps dont always reward your loyalty, but charge you more for your loyalty.

  • Does anyone have a screenshot of the 18% cashback promo (not your tracking, just the promo details on Shopback)? Mine was tracked at 10% and cust rep is asking for a screenshot of the promo. I know I can argue that they should have records of their own promo but it'll be faster just to give them the screenshot.

  • The title of this post has been amended. it was clearly 18% + 2% bonus with BoM, BSA, StG in the app at point of booking and mine tracked at 10% + 2%.

        Yes, @Mambamentality60 it should be fixed for everyone that booked within the upsized.

        The Good news is that the issue has been fixed and the Cashback should be reflecting correctly now. If the Cashback still not reflecting correctly you may DM me or write in to our customer support, we'll look into it

            My advice is to recheck the amount to see if you have been reverted back.

            Will stay away from Trip.com and its cashback, poor form

                • @Smallman: We got response from helpdesk email, but then they're asking to supply Trip.com order showing the (last 4 digits) card number used to pay. Not sure where we even can get that, as Trip.com booking history doesn't show the card number (only showing Payment Method: DQ_EFTPOS_APT), nor the e-receipt (doesn't even say what payment method is used)

                  • @hanofee: They replied me the same, I sent the screenshot from my St george bank account anyway. I think trip.com selected eftpos as payment method instead of VISA, you could see the pink eftpos logo when you type your stgeorge debit card, this is maybe the cause.

  • Confirmed that my transactions are now tracking correctly without having to contact them.

    • Did you purchase via app or desktop?

      • Desktop. I always do large purchases on the computer so I can take screenshots and keep them in a single document.
