Yeah, its pretty old… but cheap. Hard to compare pricing cos there's a newer s6 lite(s?).

Note: Samsung has 3 revision of the Tab S6 Lite:

Based on model number, this appears to be the 2022 model.

3 revision of the Tab S6 Lite

      thats F'ed up

      • Would it be better if it was S36 lite lol

        • +3

imagine you buying 2020 model instead of 2024 model from marketplace

          • +2

@hopper: that's why you ask which year is it lmao.

Like how iPhone SE has 2016/2020 and 2022 vers I believe

            • +2

@AndrewMTG: Don't people refer to the phone by the generation tho? The iPhone SE2 or SE3. However the Tab S6 Lite having three different versions is just confusing advertising. It's not hard to say Tab S8 Lite or Tab S9 Lite, that corresponds with whatever generation the other tablets are. Hell if it's part of the A series, just say Tab A8 Lite

If you're referring to this listing, it's also the 2022 model.

        • My bad that's the 128GB 2022

    • This is the 2020 model as it has the exynos 9611 processor. I think good guys may have screwed up the descriptions on these. They also have the 2022 model for $320ish.

      • +1

As per the title and and MPN in the description (SM-P613NZAAXSA), SM-P613 is the 2022 model.

UPC 8806094461770 also matches Harvey Norman 2022 Model

The one one you are referencing (SM-P613NZAEXSA) for ~$320 is also the 2022 model but with 128GB.

        • +1

But the 2022 model has the snapdragon 720g while this one is starting it has the exynos 9611 in the description, which is from the 2020 model. GG have stuffed up the description so it can be very misleading for people.

I almost ended up buying one but wasn't sure what I'd be getting. I ended up getting the 2024 model from JB as it's on sale for 425

If you're looking for a newer Samsung Tablet at a similar price, I would recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+.

Slightly bigger screen, but no S-Pen.

    • How's the processor though - arguably the most important factor when comparing newer vs older devices

      • +1

Yup, i bought a Samsung model 3 years ago. Didnt do research so my own fault, but processor is so frustratingly slow that id prob never buy another of their tabs. Cos then I try to uninstall as much bloat as possible and has me looking unsuccessfully for alternative OS roms.

        • Agree with nosey, I bought a cheap Samsung tablet as an e-reader and out of the box it was slow and annoying. Screen quality was also terrible. For this much money I highly recommend a Lenovo or other Chinese tablet as mentioned in other comments here

        • +1

          Yeah processor is very important.

I have a S10 (like 5 or 6 years old) but it has the flagship processor (of its time) and it still holds today.

Budget or midrange processors don't last as long as they aren't powerful enough to run the newer apps / software as they become more demanding.

        SD720G (S6 Lite 2022) vs.SD695 (A9+)

Both CPU are similar, but based on synthetic tests the SD695 is slightly better (based on quick Googling).

Why not get Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023 for $299.18?

    • Really can't beat the Chinese on price… Same with cars, frozen veggies, clothes… Everything.

    • I think that is better too.

Of course it depends on what you want/value the most but these are two key differences:
      - Lenovo screen is bigger, 12.7" compared to Samsung 10.4" inches the Samsung
      - CPU in the Lenovo (Snapdragon 870) is much faster than the Samsung (Exynos 9611) - like more than twice:
      https://www.notebookcheck.net/SD-870-vs-Exynos-9611_13187_11…

IMO the Lenovo is much better value.

    • That deal looks expired to me, the codes don't work any more.

      • AliExpress usually has 2 sales a month so you will probably be able to get a similar deal if you wait til the end of month.

        • Nice, I'll keep an eye out.

    • Can vouch for the Xiaoxin.

  • Big bugbear of the Tab S6 Lite (2020 version at least) is the lack of fingerprint recognition. Funny someone should mention the Pad Pro - our 10" one has it on the top bar.

Can anyone recommend a really cheap one just for a home assistant screen?

  • 2024 version is on sale at JB and GG for $429 as well

  • I'd take a lenovo M11 over this anyday

  • Price reduced by $100…now you can get it for $189

    • Out of Stock

      • I cancelled mine (impulse bought), you might be able to snipe it once it gets added back to stock
