Even cheaper if you have a costco membership $1,699.99

    https://www.costco.com.au/c/TCL-75-Inch-C755-QD-Mini-LED-Goo…

And if not $1750 from Appliance central

    • Yeah, I was able to get JB Hi-FI to price match Appliance Central

No idea if its this model, but TCL accused of a distinct lack of quantum in their dots.

Had a read, bit of a stormy teacup scenario, likely just a company that supplies to Samsung trying to discredit TCL. One of the companies (SGS) that did initial testing finding a lack of cadmium in TCL TVs (indicating QD not present), did some retesting and found it was actually present after they altered how they tested/where they looked for cadmium.

End of the day, with ANY purchase of a new display, just go to a store and play around with settings, then pick the TV that best suits your viewing preferences.

  • How many HDMI 2.1 spec ports does this have? TCL website doesn't say.

EDIT: States 4x 2.1 ports on JB website. I wonder if they are all capable of VRR 144hz. If so then this TV seems great value when all the Sonys X90 series only have 2 and aren't Mini LED

  • Previous deals were better. Would wait until Nov/Dec sales unless you need one now.

It's this tv $900 better than the Samsung DU7700? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/867181

      Yes

  • I managed to get the 75c855 for $1996 with extra $275 Retravision Gift Card the other day. They had extra 10% off for 12 hours and this stacked with price match with appliance central who are selling for $2335

fantastic deal… best i could do was $2350 a few weeks ago… But what a stunning tv it is…

      • I managed to sell the GC so cost roughly about $1.8k in the end. It should be delivered this week and can’t wait for it. Hopefully will arrive in time before the grand finals this coming weekend!!!

theres a massive difference between the c755 and the c855.

    I'm waiting or the 75" C855 to drop to ~ $1700 ish

Black Friday is a smidge over two months away. HODL.

My opinion is look at the price and picture quality and go with that rather than marketing fluff.

I'd go the 65 C855 over this any day of the week. It's an absolutely huge leap over their lower range / last years equivalent. Almost double the brightness of this at near enough the same price.

    • I've set my 65 C855 to 40% brightness. More than enough for me (100% feels like I'm staring into the sun… lol).

      • At night. Ive got floor to ceiling glass and its nice having a tv i can use during the day /late summer evenings without being a shut-in moleman.

        • being a shut-in moleman

That's me to a tee, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Life is much more enjoyable without the human riff-raff.
          :D

Not sure about this model but TCL with their mini-led on the c855 are superb. Recently watched the movie Signs and the basement scenes are something to behold.

  • With the recent JB HiFi and HN 15% deals, would you reckon the 50" model of this at $845.75 (+gift card for HN) be a decent deal for a smaller apartment living room? Can't seem to find a record of past deals pricing on the 50" model

    • 15% / 17% off doesn't seem to apply to 50" or 55"?
