Some price drops and extended dates through to August since last time this came up. Vietnam continues to be the hot destination for Aussies, it seems, and there are some great prices to be had on Jetstar, especially between March and August next year. I've given some examples below. Note that the Sydney flights are direct, while others may require connections. Also on some dates, other airlines are cheaper - they'll show in the search when you click through.

just came back recently from one of these. fun and social city with fun nightlife, would def recommend booking a cheap return next year with a friend and forgetting abt it until a week before

    • Did you also visit Hanoi?

i wish, i only stayed for a week, which i felt was too short for 2 cities but too long for just saigon. a lot of people recommended hanoi, da nang and hoi an

        • Thanks!

We went earlier this year via Jetstar to Saigon, Hoi An and Hanoi for 2 weeks. Loved it all. Definitely recommend getting out of Saigon. Vietjet internal flights were cheap and easy.

    • just came back recently from one of these.

      Next time, try Saigon

        And your point is?

        • And we would all go down together
We said we'd all go down together
Yes, we would all go down together…

  • Looks like those return dates are fixed

  • How's jetstar compared to vietjet?

    • Much the same

so always delay or cancel flights?

Haha, why do people always expect top class service from a budget airline?
They have to compromise somewhere to be able to offer those prices, and this is usually a lower level of service and higher chance of delays/cancellations as they need to make sure all the flights are full rather than just fly a dozen people and make a loss.

Getting what you pay for (a flight at a given time) isn't "top class service" its what you paid for.

Since when is departing on time or not cancelling your flight considered 'top class service'?

Only flew with them once.. hanoi to melb.. dont know about delays or cancellations..no in flight entertainment but didnt care.. they left on time and arrived on time.. in fact there was only 75 ppl on the plane which meant i could get some sleep wherever.. no complaints

    • Jetstar has inflight entertainment (paid) and vietjet doesn't have screen

  • time to visit my grandparents

  • These are great prices!

Vietnam is a beautiful country to visit with friendly locals and great foods.
Ho Chi Minh is a great place to discover, but it is 'just' a big bustling city. Make sure to visit Hoi An (stay in the old town part) and Hanoi. If budget allows, Ha Long bay is another must visit too.
