some devices already tested with the AMD 880M & 890M should give rough idea of improvements we could expect
will this be enough leap for valve to consider upgrading steam deck considering its internals (roughly 50-60% slower than above) & 20-30% slower than Z1 Extreme in the Ally X/Legion Go and the soon to be released Zotac Gaming Zone is worth considering it has OLED
Valve has said before they will wait for a jump in performance per watt. No point having a handheld that lasts 1 hour
what do you play on it
Mostly easier to run Gamepass titles in Win 11, and older titles in SteamOS. Don't play AAA on there, got my gaming PC for that
Have you tried streaming beefier titles from your gaming PC to your deck? Best of both worlds
2024 has had both the best, and nightmarish release schedule for us JRPG fans.
I've put countless hours into Infinite Wealth/P3R/SMTV/Eiyuden Chronicles during my work lunch breaks in an attempt to catch up on the backlog. Metaphor Refantazio is going to give it quite a workout too I assume :D
Apparently you can run Brazzite on Ally/Legion Go for the sleep function if you want something nicer with the same experience for now but still, neither are OLED.

I love my OLED deck; has single handedly changed the way I game due to how easy it is to pick up and put down whenever I have a bit of time!

+1. Once the windows drivers are updated and I can dual boot with windows I'm probably going to get rid of my XSX & gaming pc.
Windows audio drivers for OLED were released a month or so ago.
I won an OLED switch and it's so fricking good to pick up and just play. Got me back into gaming so much more :)

Chiming in to say this is the best tech purchase I've made in years.
Some tips for new owners:
* Look into heroic game launcher to be able to play all of those free epic games (and GOG)
* If you have a gaming PC, streaming games via Moonlight + Sunshine combo is black magic
* If you have a PS5 then Chiaki4Deck does the same thing with your PS5
* DeckyLoader is easy to install and has a ton of useful plugins (I use custom art for non steam games and a few others)+1 for moonlight/sunshine.
Chiaki sounds awesome. It seems to work for the PS4 as well, is that right? That would be great as I picked up a PS4 from the Big W deal not long ago.

What accessories do you recommend?Accessories I'd recommend and use are:
* JSAUX dock (I took that travelling and used the steam deck as a media streaming device, highly recommend!)
* JSAUX carrying case (the default is perfectly fine but I wanted a case with storage options for MicroSD cards and cables)
* A controller for the dock (I use either the steam controller or the elite controller 2 but I've heard good things about the 8bit controllers
Lastly I've been experimenting with using my steam deck with my Quest 2 via a USB capture card and it works surprisingly well
Heroic Launcher is easy to use for SteamDeck, but personally I find Lutris to be much more versatile, handles BattleNet well for instance.
I bought last December and I would say you will never regret buying at this price.
