@HaydosK: Interesting…
Is there a tracking number on the package that you can use that works with the DHL website? The 4px or the Singapore number perhaps?@MX5l: No it only works on the Singapore or 4px site. I think the tracking is broken. It will be delivered soon as I have heard others are receiving theirs also.
@HaydosK: Great news, thanks. I won't be able to check mail for the next few days so hopefully they didn't just drop it off 😂
@drasticmeasures1337: Oh no. I think it will be coming in the next few days so I would check if you could.
@HaydosK: Just checked, still nothing, oh well.
Glad you received yours though! How are your impressions of it so far?
@drasticmeasures1337: Still nothing on my end and Hiby support have sent me the same email 4 times telling me to check the Singapore number with Auspost (which doesn't work).
Was yours also delivered by DHL? Are you or @HaydosK in WA? Getting close to opening a bank dispute given the lack of support on Hibys end.@MX5l: That's really worrying. All Australian deliveries are through DHL as others on reddit have said that also. I'm not in WA no. That might be why it's taking longer. Have you told hiby that you will talk to your bank if you don't get an update? You might need to ask for someone higher up. If that doesn't work yeah you should definitely talk to your bank. I feel really bad about posting this honestly. I have only had good experiences from hiby in the past.
@MX5l: Hey, that's no good. I'm not in WA either, but the way it arrived for me was that the box itself had a DHL sticker, however it seems to have been delivered by a company called Freightster. I received a text to my phone number with a confirmation of delivery and a link to a PoD photo. There were no other comms with the delivery company.
@drasticmeasures1337: An update!
I put the Singapore post number into parcels app.com which actually showed a bunch of updates not shown on the Singapore post or 4PX websites. It also gave me some additional tracking numbers, one of which works for 3pl and Freightster. I emailed Freightster support and it's apparently ready at the depot to collect…I'll be able to go on Tuesday, fingers crossed…
@HaydosK: Righto, just a few hours after I made my previous comment (that I cannot edit), it finally arrived, yay!
@drasticmeasures1337: Nice! Do you like it?
@HaydosK: It's good, quality is good, I'm liking the design, using balanced output and everything seems to work well. OS stutters now and then and the UI isn't really made for using a lockscreen PIN (I'm logged in with Google so it's a must). Can't use the transparent case as my 4.4mm cable doesn't fit then lol.
Still getting around the weird UI and system/hibymusic PEQ being completely separate, I seem to be able to import PEQ into the app but can't import anything to system PEQ for some reason, just errors out.
Power wise I'm keeping it at low gain, no need for high.
Also getting some weird glitches/bugs i.e. one that seems to be caused by Poweramp Equalizer (?) where if I press the volume up button, it sets volume to 100% for whatever reason, so I'm being very careful as that's painful for ears lol. Also Plexamp is unable to do bit perfect audio with any setting even with the most recent update, stuck on 48kHz. And the Android UI is often crashing and kicking me to the lock screen for some reason lol.
@drasticmeasures1337: I haven't had those issues. What did you use to import the eq? Have you seen this. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/t6aqn24gh8lkvpy20otnj/The-HiB…
@HaydosK: I have not, thanks, will check it out.
Have you had any luck switching to USB DAC working mode? It seems to switch and connect to the PC but doesn't identify itself as audio device for some reason.
@drasticmeasures1337: You need to change it to USB dac mode in the settings or from the swipe down menu thing. I don't know how to show you. But it will be probably set to file transfer by default
@HaydosK: Yeah I'm definitely changing the mode to USB DAC correctly. It just doesn't work lol. Tested on 2 PCs, that's why I'm curious if it works for others.
@drasticmeasures1337: Oh really? It works for me. Just tested it again. Have you updated it to the latest firmware?
@HaydosK: Yeah all updated, also rebooted both Windows PCs and the DAP.
If I switch back to normal android mode, it gets detected as a mobile device by both PCs so the cable and USB itself must be fine.What PC OS are you on? Did you install the Hiby driver at any point in the past?
I'm on Win11, haven't installed the driver as Hiby documentation says it shouldn't be needed but might try it next…
@drasticmeasures1337: I tested it with my phone. You definitely should try the driver.
@HaydosK: Just did, yeah it works with an Android phone but doesn't work with any Win11 PCs I've tried it with. Installing Hiby drivers didn't help, just added an error to Device Manager lol. Oh well.
@drasticmeasures1337: I don't have a PC to test. That really sucks. I don't see why I would not work
@HaydosK: Sadly nope, still no tracking updates whatsoever since the 29th on mine
