  • Reviews say it comes with Windows, but nothing in the ad says that. Reviews are quite positive as well

you are the product with windows

      • -3

im referring to windows 11 recall "feature"

imho windows 11 requirements of TPM 2.0 and delisting plenty of CPUs is so they can facilitate the constant recording and archiving of all your activity while not drastically impacting the user experience

recall is just for AI data mining

        ie you are the product

wouldn't be surprised if they offered a non business version of windows without networking for free

Good price, but pity they don't have the coupon on the 16bg RAM model. 8gb is a bit low

  • Can you get trs on a mini pc

    • +1

No reason why not, but you need to spend at least $300 with the same supplier.
      Here's some reading: https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/touris…
      https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/duty-f…

    • what is trs?

      • +1

refund of the GST at the airport before you fly out.

      • Tourist Refund Scheme

    • Looks like it has a TRS jack on the front from the photos?

    • +1

Bought 16GB version 2 months before from Beelink store. I wanted to make TRS claim and asked for invoice with ABN mentioned in it but they said they dont have ABN number yet and provided $30 cashback.

      • So they’re happy to give you 10% discount because they declare nothing from a tax perspective. Getting an ABN is easy and takes very little time.

        • It was Ryzen7 SER5 MAX 5800H Mini pc,16GB for $489, so not totally 10%. Though they said that they are in process to get ABN , not sure if they have got it by now.

  • Anything cheaper for a father-in-law PC? Seems a decent upgrade.

I would rather get one of those MSI cubi mini PC with i3-1215u for $399. There is a free 1TB SSD via promotion and $50 cash for RAM if needed.

It's awful value, you need to add RAM to this barebone unit.

    • +4

that cpu requires 100% more power to deliver 50% of the performance

you get half the performance while paying twice as much to use it

honestly this ryzen mini pc for under 300 is hard to beat, great for a promox server or desktop

This thing runs Batocera excellent! (I have this model)

  • For those that want a bit more…. https://www.amazon.com.au/Beelink-5700U-Processor-Computer-I…

16GB of ram and an Ryzen 7, only $84 more.

    • 5700u is Zen 2 though
      5560u is Zen 3

but 5700 also has better GPU

      • +1

Ah yes you're right. Just looked up the specs of both CPUs. Probably get the Ryzen 5 and use the $80 to get a 32GB stick of SO-DIMM.

Any thoughts on this for a bit less? Would normally compare myself but time constraints.

Comes with 16GB ram for a bit less. Only need 2 display outputs for family member to peruse the web and basic pc work.

A Celeron vs a Ryzen5 isn't even a competition. For web browsing and say office stuff it's probably fine. But it will not do gaming or anything.

  • Do you have any information about the fan? How noisy is it? I have a fanless NUC, but it would need to be replaced.

    • Very quiet. Even when under full load is still quite quiet

  • Thanks, grabbed one for the mother in law, her computer died last week, this will save me building one, sourcing parts etc

These units depending on specs are super useful to attach to a vesa mounted monitor for an all-in-one PC for general use.

  • To those who purchased this, how did you go?
I’ve just tried setting it up.

Installed all the latest windows updates (there were a few errors that disappeared after retry)
But now it crashes to blue screen randomly whenever i try things like opening office etc.

I tried running the windows memory diagnostic and found nothing.

Have contacted their email support, but interested in seeing how everyone else fared.

I'd recommend downloading some live USB operating system like Ubuntu - run it FROM the USB (ie: don't install it to the onboard NVME drive) and see if it is stable or not. It may just be windows 11 being it's unsteady self.

      • thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look into trying that.
In the meantime going through a checklist beelink support provided.
