The Woolies exclusive amaysim plan! For those who want detailed inclusions and a link to the Critical Information summary, the link is:
    https://www.amaysim.com.au/195

At one point, this was very popular as it'd go to $99 + 2000 EDR (Effectively $89), with 60GB data and international calls included. This was possibly an all-time low for an annual plan with International Calls included.

The main difference is this Woolies exclusive amaysim annual plan has International Inclusions to 28 countries, whereas the equivalent one on amaysim's website wont have this.

    • Is the 60GB plan no longer available?

      • Nope, that disappeared nearly a year ago.

        • Sad, missed its good value!

  • Would the 10% discount work on this for the Woolies rewards members?

    • Worked for me last year.

    • Recharges dont get the 10% discount, tried at self serve and the checkouts. Not sure with the physical sim packs but i presume they also wouldnt count.

Try it and let us know

    • +1

Worked for me via self checkout last week.

      • Worked for me as well.

  • Yes. Bought one several months ago with rewards extra discount

    • Went to Woolies store to buy it and tried to use Extra but the counter lady said you can't use this with Extra for 10% discount.

      • @vinsontan go to self service checkout do it yourself scan your card

        • Too late
. I bought it already without the extra 10% discount

  • can this be used for renewal of existing amaysim plans? Mine runs out in Dec.

    • +1

No, you will have to port out first then back in with this.

I got this Woolies deal last year for $119 (although only 60GB). Interesting that it is due for renewal (Sept) and received email Promo from them offering renewal for $89.25 ($29.75 off) and incl 110GB. Great price. If lucky you may get the same renewal promo in Dec??.

      • Yep, I got same Amaysim 60GB plan yearly plan bought from Woolies last year, due for renewal later this month (Sep) & also received promo email to activate renewal offer of $89.25 instead of $119 with 110GB instead of 60GB for another year!

        • Similar situation due for renewal at the end of this month but have not been lucky enough to receive the discounted offer through email or text.

          • @johnjones8: You can try calling/chatting with Amaysim to ask for discount for your renewal. I have done that with my parent's yearly plan and after much begging they applied a 25% discount to their account. Worth a try & no harm done.

    • A $2 telstra sim (but I assume any carrier will work, I just like the free telstra shaped sim tool telstra gives you) also from Woolies has worked fine for me in the past

  • just saw that they only have very high data allowance long term plans on the Amaysim site now and quite expensive. We still have some of the legacy plans with less data (we barely use any data), so I will have to see if they still give the 25% discount if you ask nicely before renewal…………

What's the latest date for activation? Thanks

  • Yes wondering if you buy when do you have to activate by??

    • @HopeM Last time I bought one from woolies it had a 12 month before I could activate it.

  • I have two phones, one with Amysim and the other with Coles, can I use this to replace my soon to expire Coles account or because I have an Amysim account on my other phone i am out of luck ?

    • +1

@ruprectaus It will work I have 3 Amaysim numbers on my account.

      • Thanks, I asked because the T&C posted here specifically states

        †New customers only

  • Should be easy straight forward port from Coles to Amaysim, even though both are using Optus, right?

    • sometimes that is a disadvantage. When I ported from Optus to Amaysim 4 years ago, it got stuffed and took nearly 2 weeks to port the number. Amaysim gave me 2 months free credit to help and also a sim card to use while I was waiting.

      • Thx good to know, always worry this is gonna be painful & messy, better go to different carrier prepaid rather than same carrier but different providers.

        • I think it is easier these days to port from same network. I did have problems before (5 years ago) porting from same network but last year when I ported from CatchConnect (Optus) to Amaysim (Optus), it took only 10 mins. I was surprised.

  • Does it have 5G? Can you receive SMS overseas? I may have to move away from Boost, as soon their cheapest 12-month plan will be $300.

    • +2

Not sure about 5G, but I was able to receive SMS overseas, as long as you enable international roaming (no need to buy the roaming packages), but it'd charge you to send SMS.

      • My phone roaming was enabled but could not receive text overseas. Do you have to activate roaming in Amaysim app?

        • +1

Yepp, I activated it on the Amaysim app! I made sure to turn mobile data setting on my phone off until I activated my E-sim overseas in case it charged me a huge amount for using roaming data

    • +1

      just 4g

    • +2

Just picked up from local Woolies and the pack says 5g compatible. 100mbps download speed cap applies.

  • Is this the best 365 days expiry deal currently?

    • Catch connect? 180G, $150, but they often has discount deal.
      https://www.catch.com.au/event/catch-connect-60gb-bonus-data…

      • saw the kogan one for 120GB for $120. was hoping for a 10% off woolies but see that now gone :(

        • difference between kogan, catch and this woolies amaysim one?

          • @catchtheaman: deciding whether to spend extra for amaysim

          • +15

            @catchtheaman: Key differences –

            • Amaysim (effectively $144) | 140 GB: Unlimited International Calls to 28 countries, Plus you get 25GB / 40GB additional Free Data during your Birthday Month, valid for 2 weeks. Excellent Customer Service, probably the best in all MVNOs in Australia. Possibility of a Targeted Phone Upgrade Offer with $200 off if they detect you are using an unsupported 3G/4G phone (due to the impending 3G Shutdown due 28-Oct-2024). Uses Optus network.
            • CatchConnect ($150) | 180 GB: No International Calls. Total Plan data is 180 GB, so a bit higher than amaysim. Uses Optus network.
            • Kogan ($120) | 120 GB: No International Calls. Lower total Plan data comparatively (120 GB). Uses Vodafone network.

You may also have a look at:

            • Lebara ($149) | 220GB: Unlimited International Calls to 26 countries, Highest Data allowance of 220GB. Uses Vodafone network.
            • EzySim ($129) | 100 GB: No International Calls. Lower total Plan data (100 GB). Uses Vodafone network.
            • @djoz: thanks, very detailed

            • @djoz: I spent last 10 odd months on Vodafone network and coverage is quite spotty even not that far from city centre (Melbourne).

they (Vodafone) texted me to tell that they increase coverage soon, but I already got Boost mobile for my next 12mth run

I guess I might give Vodafone another go in another year then, if they do again $150 for 240GB at woolies

            • @djoz: Catch 120gb for $109 now

  • +1

Very good timing - thank you OP

I just got an email today from TPG that my monthly $19 plan is increasing to $25 per month. That's a 31.5% increase. I'll be buying 2 of these packs: 1 for me and 1 for my wife - hopefully the monthly 10% works at checkout which i have for this month.

Looking forward to cancelling with TPG. I think i originally signed up to a $10… or it might have been $15 a month way back. I have a work phone with unlimited data and international roaming so my personal phone doesn't get a whole lot of use these days.

    • +1

exactly the same here. 25 dollars as the cheapest plan is not great. just hoping the porting of the number goes smoothly.

  • got two, thanks

    • 5g works?

      • As per official amaysim page for this deal, 5G is not available on this plan.
        https://www.amaysim.com.au/195

        • Thats what I also saw, however someone in the comments above said the packaging said 5g compatible. It may just be a misprint on the packaging though.

          • +1

@silenthillrocks: Might be for the less tech savvy and letting them know that this 4G sim still works in 5G phones?

      • I can still get over 100Mbps speed under 4G
