DO NOT use Webjet or any other travel agent.

Always pay direct with the airline, you get easier ticket management, clear fees, no hidden fees, cancellation options and more. Webjet and every other OTA charges fees on top of the fare difference and change fee on your fare just to simply change a flight, or to cancel.

      What about my aunt, Betty?

      • +5

Its just another form of Flight Centre, one of the worst travel agencies ever. Even in its cute aunt betty version ;)

Bought a ticket, Aunt Betty asked for more money after a week, She was like, we haven't booked the tickets when we got your money, now the prices are up, checked everywhere else and she was right, what she could've done was booking the flights when I paid her. Do yourself a favour and book direct !

use Skyscanner, Google flights or Momondo to find the cheapest flights and book direct from the airline!

Especially gotogate. (profanity) gotogate. Took my money and extra fees to change a flight over a phone call. Agent told me it's all confirmed, but they didn't actually change it. I only found out at the airport. (profanity) my entire 4-leg journey. I had to buy new tickets on the spot at each airport.

Absolutely (profanity) them to death, needed a lawyer before they gave the bare minimum of refund only to just cover my new tickets "as goodwill".

adults should never use (any sort of) agent, they all dodgy middle men. the worst are aggregators who eat TAs vomit.

The best holiday I’ve ever had was one that I planned booked and went on myself without any interference with the travel agent.
Don’t use travel agents they are absolutely useless

  • nice spotting op!

  • I would generally not book through a third party. However if the flight price is cheap enough even with the additional fees it may be worth it. As usual YMMV and always do your own research.

I dont buy tickets from an OTA but use aggregators to find out route options and fares.

  • Ota's have their place. Its only when you have to make changes then it becomes a pain as they charge extra in fees….having said that even if you save say 200 bucks by going with an ota its always best to book with airlines directly… the choice is yours.
