I didn't have any issues with my XM4s. All it had was a minor dent in the box.

For me, that means…
Seconds - works fine but didn't pass final QC checks (maybe it's scratched?)
Refurbished - sent back as faulty, but we've replaced the broken part and are selling it as-is@nedrum: On the questions for the item they say basically it could be either. Which isn't really straightforward at all
@lancesta: yeah I get that. Sony's ebay listing in confusing as it refers to both, but I was just answering dsvid's question.

Same. On paper and on reviews soundcore seemed to keep up. But I used to have the OG Sony when it was released and still think my first gen Sony was better. So probably 4th and 5th gen would be absolutely a step up.

I think that's more than I spent on my second XM5s ages ago, but I had no complaints - the headphones looked completely unused and the packaging just had some damage. Fantastic headphones for the money I spent on them.

I got refurb XM5s via Sony eBay and honestly couldn’t tell if they were just brand new or not. Zero damage or use.

yes, especially if you want to also make calls with'em & be heard in any enviroment.
Have had both and prefer xm4s because I have larger ears and they fold in so easier to travel with. However the mic on the xm4 is very trash, this issue is fixed with the xm5. The xm5's dont fold in either
I have both. xm4 has been used mostly because it is foldable. xm5 seems having better mics in a noisy environment.
The only complaint I have with the xm5 is the headband doesn’t collapse anymore so they take up more space than they probably need to.
That seems to be a universal critique of the xm5s. That’s why I held off from getting them in case Sony has taken this onboard for the next one
I felt the same but reckon I don't actually fold my XM3s down that often. Sure when I travel, but I'm not much of a traveler. I assume the XM5's come with a case. XM6s will probably be out when my 3s fail.
