If you rarely use the drone then what is tempting you to buy another one?
True, which is why I haven't bought it - but I'm sure there's many on here who have bought something because it was on sale and didn't think too hard about it.
Because buying crap you don't need/use at a bargain price is a prerequisite to keep your OzB badge.
because its cheap
Because they can.
Glad I’m not the only one
Same, bought rarely used mini 1.
I have mini 1 as well and also barely used
One of the issue for me is I do need to have always connect my phone with the RC which is quite inconvenientThis RC with a screen seems to be more convenient in that aspect
@littlesoldier: Feeling this too - I have the Mavic Mini and back when I bought it my phone was a fair bit smaller than an S23 Ultra..so it's somewhat awkward to use it with the "clasp" on controller for a screen
This isn't the Pro model, which really everyone should be getting at a minimum.
Mini 3 Pro is out of stock now, only Mini 4 Pro is widely available and the price will be nearly triple of this.
Mini 3 is still a good option if you don't need obstacle avoidance sensors to fly in narrow air space.Fair points. Most likely wouldn't consider this at all over Pro hence why there is still stock readily available, or look to pick up a Mini 3 Pro second hand.
DJI Mini 3 Pro offers advanced features, better camera capabilities (including 60fps vs only 30fps), longer range, better obstacle avoidance as you noted and intelligent shooting modes (FocusTrack, MasterShots, Hyperlapse, and ActiveTrack 4.0 for subject tracking.).
Honestly it's such a massive step down over the Pro.
60fps vs 30fps is not a big deal to most casual drone flyers.
With longer range, it is only how far you can fly before you lose the signal, by that time you are flying way out of line of vision and not considered legal.
As for those intelligent shooting modes, again not essential features for a lot of casual drone flyers.
So with all that said, is it worth spending triple the price for them for most casual drone flyers?
Forget about second hand Mini 3 Pro, that's different topic again with buying second hand drones, which can also apply to Mini 3 and Mini 4 Pro.i totally agree, you wouldn't buy a car with manual windows. You would want to purchase a car with adaptive cruise control, anti lock breaks, blind spot monitor, reverse camera, etc…
you can live without them and drive a 1980 holden to take you from point a to point b, but its nice to get something better even if you aren't going to use all the bells and whistles.
this is how i see the pro and non pro debate.
@Hugh G Rection: Poor analogy. Mini 3 is a lot more advanced than the car you described without those features. I think you are referring to non-DJI brand drones without even camera gimbal system and software advancement of DJI.
You could have described the obstacle avoidance sensors in the Pro models just like those annoying ADAS in new modern cars.
if only we can fly this in more places..
That's the main issue with drones now a day. Such many restrictions so people have to consider carefully before spending the money on drones.
This is the only reason why I don't have a drone. Don't see the use of it practically other than initial novelty factor.
you can, but need to drive far. well if i am single probably i will…. but who got time nowadays
Just do what you want anyway.
what's your point. It's under 250g and you should able to fly it almost anywhere.
There are many places now with rule that you cannot fly a drone at all, not just drones over 250g.
DJI Neo may also be a good option for some.
That's like a DJI MINI mini edition…Better keep it around you within a few metres radius.
NEO is way better than mini, It can be run without any controllers and also can be a FPV drone. It is way more tempting than mini 3 pro. And when it is hooked up with a controller, the range extended to 10km. And Lv 4 wind resistance.
Unless you do a lot of drone video, for everyone else you will use it a couple of times, and it will sit there collecting dust and waiting for the battery to die beyond recovery.
personal experience, mate?
Agreed. I bought one years ago and sold it within 2 months. Started collecting dust
WoW thats great price
I got it back in June for $574 but without additional batteries https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/852033Got the last deal too and still waiting for batt price to go down 🤷♀️. Extra batt is already $99. So this is very good deal
Actually a good deal! Was looking for one for a while missed this one:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/852033Getting the same + 2 batteries for almost the same price as ^^
Thanks OP
Anyone know how and where to find a deal on just the flymore kit? Sick of my single battery but RRP for new is too high
Damn I bought the mini 2 se combo last year for around this price. I hardly use it but I wish I had this to hardly use.
Can you vertically tilt the gimbal on these or is that only available on the pro model?
You can only pan Vertically with the gimbal.
For what it's worth, I've owned a Mini 3 Pro (sold it and I'm.aware it's not the same drone as this listing).
I currently own a Mini 4 Pro, an Avata 2 and even a Neo. 😂 This listed drone s great, but I would personally shell out a little more and get the Mini 4 Pro. Protip. If you can wait a very short amount of time, speaking within weeks/months maximum, you'll likely be able to bag yourself a Mini 5 Pro. (better features likely lower price than Mini 4 Pro or similar.DJI Mini 3 vs. DJI Mini 4 Pro - Detailed Specification Differences

I belive mini 3 doesnt have any obstacle avoidance
Believe you are absolutely right. stole it from a language model. It's likely picked up the Pro. I've never owned a Mini 3.
Do you still need a phone all the time with this model or is it just for initial set up?
No. Phone not necessary out flying. It comes with a DJI RC 2 controller.
If a mini 5 pro launches, why will it be cheaper than a mini 5 pro?
I'm sure your second number, you meant 4. Just my experience because as soon as I got wind the Mini 4 Pro was being launched before it was known by wider society, sold my secondhand Mini 3 Pro (and accessories).on eBay for a pretty penny..couple that with striking a great deal on release - actually ended up a little ahead. Safer way for me to say it is if you play timings right, you can effectively upgrade for free (or quite close to it).
Yes I did mean 4!. I got what you are saying, good luck and hope you get a good deal upon release.
So tempting. Had a mavic pro many years ago. Had in cart but removed. Not going to be used lots and not many places anymore able to fly. Use the $600 on other useless things :) had the osmo pocket 2 combo in cart for $124 and it disappeared and got sold out. Thought it would stay in cart on eBay?
Thought it would stay in cart on eBay?
No, most online shops won't reserve the item you have in your cart, otherwise people could hold onto items and never purchase them.
Nowadays pretty sure they could have in cart for example 15-30 minutes and that would hold that stock.
Off course don't think it would just stay there. It was in cart less then 3 minutes. Went back here and copied the code. Back and it was removed. Oz bargain way to try to save bit of Xtra. Ended up saving $132 as didn't get it :) (I was in checkout)
Yeah, usually when stock is reserved, there would be a timer counting down. I think with eBay, it's whoever is the fastest to checkout.
@thisusernameistaken: Yeah, was for son's birthday coming up. He been looking at getting one.
imagine if stay… thousand ozb member will just click add then deciding for a week
Video 720p/30fps
is this correct as in the ebay listing ?
That's the resolution on the controller. The video it records goes up to 4k
Is the code working?
Good deal! order place, Thank you!
I just picked up a second hand mini 3 pro on market place, seen a few around for alright prices, I'd recommend that as it has a lot better features, and with the 5 potentially coming out you'll get more people selling when they upgrade.
How much did you buy it for?
800, was pretty much brand new.
How much weight can it lift?
Too bad that the mini 2 I spent $1000 on in 2020 is collecting dust. Last time I turned it on it broke my samsung Ultra wide screen display that I'd paid $1000 for during lockdown. $2000 down the drain. Sigh.
Out of Stock - "103 sold in last 24 hours"
This or DJI neo?
Depends on your needs. The neo is for a very specific purpose.
I had a Mavic Mini 2 and bought the Neo yesterday. I'm pretty underwhelmed by the Neo. Everything about the Neo is a comprise and significantly worse compared to the Mavic Mini 2. I've also had charging issues with the Neo, but that might be resolved with firmware.
I realise the Neo is for a certain type of user and is at a certain price point (and will likely make a lot of people very happy), but the Mini series is just hands down better IMO. And this deal smashes the Neo fly more combo out of the park.
My biggest takeaways:
- Photos/video look smuggy and oversharpened, like a low quality security camera.
- The single-axis gimbal doesn't perform anywhere near as well as the normal DJI drone gimbals
- It gets significantly affected by wind
- The flight time seems long on paper, but in practice it's very short
- I couldn't get image or video transfer to work
- it's much louder and 'shriller' than my Mini 2
- it was cool to fly with controls on the phone
- it is much lighter but doesn't feel cheaply made
- maybe you'd be more likely to take this with you on travels, but after seeing the footage, I'd rather just take a Mini with a controller.I checked the Neo video samples on YouTube, horrendous video quality…
Mine shipped out this afternoon via Global Express
Mine arrived with 1 motor not spinning.
Tempted to do a buy now think later for this but I still have the original Mavic Mini that I also bought from an eBay flash sale years ago from here that rarely gets used…
