It is the Ozbargain way
Probably return it from my experience with "Blaupunkt" TV's - Cheapest Chinese junk imaginable using a Blaupunkt licence
I remember when blaupunkt had a good rep. I think they were one of the 1st companies to start being made under license in the early 90s.
I can't remember the days, I'm too young.
During the dick smith fire sale i got a 22inch tv with inbuilt DVD player. Its still going strong in the spare room. Pretty happy with it so far.
I bought one from JB a few years ago, the screen was deformed and ripply when turned off. You can tolerate a little bit of that but this looked like a crazy mirror house. The backlight couldn't go below 50 or something because if it did it would turn the backlight off completely and I'd have to shine a torch on the TV to see the settings menu and raise it again, had it replaced and exactly the same issues. Cheap junk with no QC
These days your see all the blaupunkt stuff in the Coles special aisle things, $20 for a "blaupunkt" charging cable… Junk
Yes, I got a DS 32 inch HD with a built in dvd player for $189 back then, and it is still the Tv for the bedroom.
It is rubbish though, even new. light bleeds all about the bottom and sides, the DVd player makes all these horrific noises and you are always worried the dvd will get stuck in there. And the OS sucks, so I got an old Apple TV to fix that. But the price was awesome.
I remember buying an Aldi special Blaupunkt around 2016, it was about $400-500 which was a crazy good price for a 4k tv then.
Although you never expect much from cheap TV speakers, I remember at 100 volume my iPhone 6's speakers were louder and mucccccch clearer. No exaggeration.
It's like the speakers were made of tin cans and string, I did not believe it was possible to release a product that bad.

Don't you mean Bauhn? But they're all the same cheapos anyway.
@CVonC: It would have been Bauhn but there is a fair chance they would have been the same anyway.
The people doing these Blaupunkt TVs are the same ones doing EKO branded ones. They also often brand them as Bauhn for ALDI.
@CVonC: Yup, sorry, it was definitely Bauhn. These two are clearly the same in my head haha.
And iphone 6 speakers were Shiite. Lol.
@BewareOfThe Dog: Exactly.
Buy 7 @Broden
Came back here to say that yeah, the TV had a massive line of dead pixels down the panel. However, I spoke to Amazon about it and they are going to cover all shipping costs to return it (got it in an email as well).
So yeah, kinda figured this would happen, but mainly just putting this here just in case anyone else has the same experience.
Those are some bad reviews
wow price error
Out of stock.
Kogan/Dick Smith also selling for $218.39 but probably not many available

160 odd is alright. 220 I think I'd take a punt on Marketplace before this one, with all the reviews on Amazon.
And I wouldn't take a punt on Marketplace.
Though I have met a few punts on Marketplace.
@seamonkey: Takes a punt to meet a punt
Is this still available?

$220 here if you want a second chance
I was able to place an order for 1!
Party's over. Congrats to those who bought one.
oos
back in stock?
Still two left!
Aahh crap.. missed it
from the reviews dead pixels are a guarantee
Shocking reviews… Good luck to those buying, looks like JB still has stock
Amazon received a bad batch, they're trying to ditch them now lol
Yeh looks like a rubbish tv… you're basically paying amazon to help them get rid of their landfill… probs cost Amazon more to dispose it as opposed to shipping it out.
My mother had one of this…. absolute rubbish. Replaced with a Hisense which was a massive upgrade.
Replaced with a Hisense which was a massive upgrade.
Not really all that surprising lol
I'm feeling a bit old to have nostalgia for the Blaupunkt brand, one of my first TVs decades ago was a Blaupunkt, and back then, they were a top brand. I still remember the days where you were a baller if you had a Blaupunkt head unit in your car.
198???
Our car also had one and I loved it as a kid.. Too bad the brand got sold and they went the Polaroid way.
I think BP did this prior.
The reviews are horrible
If I buy this, will I get punkt? 😅
😏
even tho it is cheap… think of the headache when there is something wrong with it.
What headache?
Headache of sending a 58" TV back (or even taking it to the bin).
Headache of printing an Amazon return label and returning it in the original box?

At this price, I could tile my whole bathroom floor in 58" tvs.
buy $161 worth of lotto might serve you better.
missed it
Needed this kid broke ours last night
Same model?
Nah crappy kogan 😂
Would be a downgrade anyway, no loss
@heef: Downgrade from a Kogan TV can only be an MDF panel from Bunnings.
@bio: Mdf panel would last longer.
@BewareOfThe Dog: I don't know… I made some laundry shelves from Kogan TVs and they've been holding up ok so far.
@heef: After it broke, turned it on, It started melting. No joke.
Got 5 years out of it.
Anything 42" plus that would suit back deck living for not too much coin?
I have a 75 inch Blaupunkt and apart from slowing down from time to time and needing a restart to clear the cache i love it. That said i am not super picky on the backlighting picture quality elements of tvs. Sure sometimes the blacks could be blacker but for the price if those sorts of things are not important to you they are great. Had mine for 3 years.
I have the EKO 65in that was a popular deal here some years ago. Still works great though i use a firestick over the built in android tv.
Blaupunkt is the same supplier just rebadged. As long as you dont get a dud out of the box, possibly damage in transit, it should be decent enough.
Bought one,.. no idea what I’m going to do with it
