Comments

  • Is t this targeted like the last offer?

    • The email says to tell your family and friends, so the code should be generic.

      • Looks like the best "low rate" credit card on the market and with a nice little bonus

Every other "low rate" credit card has an annual fee of $50-$60

        • +3

If you're paying interest on your credit card, you're doing it wrong.

  • +3

I am still waiting for bonus from last time. I dont know how I messed up.

    • last time, as in the last deal in Jan or more recent?

I say this as I just had this offer which ended July 31st, I did all the things, but now waiting "up to 60 days" for the pay out.

      OzBargain is Family.

      • +3

        Does that include @jv ?

        • +5

          No 😂

        • -3

          Hey! Stop picking on JV!

          • +1

            @cnut: Name doesn’t check out

          • @cnut: jv's got thick skin and dishes out enough nonsense to warrant being called out, so, yes… it includes jv.

We never turn out back on family… except to grab a deal!

  • Have to be new customer?

    • +3

      I added the full T&Cs.
Existing ING customers who currently hold an Orange One credit card or have held an Orange One credit card within the last 12 months of 01 September 2024 are not eligible for this offer.

      • +1

thanks, just read the TC, not qualified this time

      • Am I eligible for this offer, even if I have recently opened an Orange Everyday Account (says Visa Debit on the card) within the last couple of months? AND… is this Offer still on….. it doesn't mention it on the website…. got a link?

        • +1

yes, as long as you do not currently hold an Orange One credit card or have held an Orange One credit card within the last 12 months of 01 September 2024

      • @sdfgsdf6478, are you able to provide a sanitised version of the email you received please?

ING have claimed that this is a targeted offer, when I called to query why I haven't received the bonus yet.

  • +1

Had one from last time, probably 3..4 months ago ? Still qualify this ? Last time was nightmare to claim the cash back in fact….

    • How so? Does the cash not just go onto your CC statement to pay off owed credit?

      • no, last time was to wait 3 - 4 months to get it back i remember, the money goes into everyday account

    • Existing ING customers who currently hold an Orange One credit card or have held an Orange One credit card within the last 12 months of 01 September 2024 are not eligible for this offer.

  • +1

hows the foreign transaction fee with this card?

    • -2

      nil.

    • +3

International transaction fee (payable to us) :

for all Transactions in a foreign currency; and
for all Transactions in Australian dollars or a foreign currency, where:
the merchant or financial institution accepting the card is located outside of Australia; or
the entity processing the Transaction is located outside of Australia).
      3% of transaction amount.

      However there is an offer:
International Transaction Fee Rebate Offer 100% rebate of ING international transaction fees when eligibility criteria is met.
Offer will apply for the next calendar month when you perform the following during the current calendar month:
deposit at least $1,000 from an external source to any personal ING account in your name (excluding Living Super and Orange One), and
make at least 5 card purchases that are settled (not pending) using your ING debit or credit card (excluding ATM withdrawals, balance enquiries, cash advances and EFTPOS cash out only transactions).

  • +3

Rejected several times years ago - targeted for family members, OR, only applicable if you have received the email promo from ING

    • I think this one is different with a generic code. There's a couple flavours of this offer, some targeted, some generic.
How would they check if you're friends with someone that got the email?

    • +1

It literally says "tell your friends".

      • +3

Tell your friends: “ha, ha, you can’t have this, you can’t have this!”

  • +9

I would stay miles away from any ING promotion as the probability of you actually getting approved and then actually getting the bonus is close to NIL.

    • +2

I applied, met all their criteria, and my credit score is well over 900….and they said NO!

      • Same, would it be reducing the credit by reject from the bank? Not worth to try if knew it's gonna be rejected and cause credit level changes,

        • it would reduce some points (probably 10-20) even application rejected, but will back to normal after about 3months from my exp.

      • Same here. Credit score around 900, no negative events. They asked for statements of existing cards. Showed them that all closing balances were fully repaid and no interest charged and still cannot get the card.

      • They get to keep your data though. For leak purposes?

    • I just got approved for $3500, had to provide alot more documentation than usual. No idea why the limit was so low, I'm not complaining it's just my last card they gave me $62k limit without even asking 😝

  • -3

Do I still need to pay interest at a low interest rate?

    • +1

If you don't pay off your statement amount then yes.

  • +3

Looks like this is going to replace my Latitude Card

  • +1

Not signing up just based on this comment alone from a previous deal.

TLDR: Avoid as they just want to collect fees from you + high chance of being declined anyway (if you are on top of paying off your CC on time+good CC history) impacting your credit score negatively

  • +1

Damn, I just signed up for one of these 2 weeks ago after cancelling my Latitude card.

  • +1

During last deal of 5 transactions, I applied on 8 March, requirement met 15 March, got the bonus 16 April

  • +5

Beware, ING are well known for roping people in with a good deal to start with and then jacking up the rates as time goes by….

    • +8

Shouldn't be in issue if you spend the $500, pay it off immediately, wait for the bonus, then cancel the card.

    • +6

100% agree. Customer support is sh*t as well.

  • +10

Declined as usual by this mob.

  • +3

Declined lol.. Its not like these guys were gonna pay the bonus anyway oh well was worth a try

  • +3

They don’t pay the bonus automatically; you have to chase them for it. Good luck! I’ve been done with ING for a long time. Worst bank of the year.

  • I am not with ING , how do i go about this to take both the credit card bonus and the referral bonus? Do i sign up using referral link to open an orange everyday account first, then apply for this low rate credit card?

    • Sounds about right.

  • +3

Just another "Beware" note. ING is notorious for getting new customers with carrot n stick & suck the prey's blood later.

  • +5

Ah yes, the credit card I signed up with only for them to not honour it last time.

  • +1

Still haven't decided to get which one yet since cancelled Latitude mmm

  • +1

Possible bug (I applied on a iPhone via Safari):

When I entered my expenses annually, the total amount was calculated weekly. Example, I put $5,200 per year and the total was calculated as $5,200 per week instead of $100 per week.

I thus re-calculated all my expenses and entered them as weekly.

This could be why some applications were automatically rejected.

    YMMV

    • YMMV?

      • Meaning of YMMV in English

written abbreviation for your mileage may vary: used, for example on social media and in text messages and emails, to mean that you understand people may have a different opinion or experience to yours

  • Applied, ill give it a go. Cheers

  • Any idea where you have to include the code in the application process? I checked though the app and couldn't see an obvious place…

    • Same here, existing customer but I dont see where I can enter the code?

  • +1

If you really want bonus money, use Revolut and get your friends to sign up during the $100 bonus periods and you can get upto $500 per period.

  • I'm really scraping the barrel of credit card churn deals (I'm still within cooldown of the usual suspects) so considering this. Given +93 up-votes and -3 down-votes but many negative comments vs positive - is it really the norm to have to chase ING for the payout? or do most people (presuming approved, which sounds like not a given) just have a smooth process?

(My only other option is Commbank Low Rate card thru Yello which is not nearly as attractive - $100 back for a $500 spend per month for 4 months, monthly fee, not paid out until the 4 months are up)

    • +1

applied, approved. regular churner, good credit score. still waiting for the card to arrive a week later - hopefully smooth sailing with the min spend & getting the bonus.

  • Does a tourist visa allow you to sign up?

  • +1

Sincere thanks to the OP. After giving what felt like a great deal of personal (financial) detail, my retired wife (Who hasn't had a CC in her name for two decades ) was approved this morning.
    "Dear 28degrees…."

  • Is there confirmation that the bonus offer has been activated?

    • usually not, with credit card bonuses like this (I can't speak for ING in particular but as a regular churner, they don't)

    • Last year when this offer was around I did get a confirmation (after getting the card) that the offer was activated and another when I received the bonus.

  • -1

Deal is targeted. Response from ING.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your message.

This promotion was sent to a selected number of customers. If you didn't receive an email with this offer you will be unable to apply at this time for the promotion. However that is not to say that you may be targeted in the future with an offer.

    Regards,
    Heather

Hello, I saw a deal online about new orange one low rate credit card and spend $500 within 90 days and you will receive $200 bonus. I can not find this on your website and wanted to know if this is a legitimate offer and how to apply?

    • No, it's valid for all people that apply the promo code. The agent is probably unaware of this NEW campaign that just launched.
The previous campaign that ended last month or so was targeted.

      • +1

Targeted campaign still in operation. I have until 30/9 to apply.

  • +3

Just to circle back, I completed an earlier promo, same offer, ended in July.

Rec'd an email yesterday from ING

    Congratulations nismo!

You've qualified for the $200 cashback bonus on your Orange One Low Rate credit card. We'll pop the $200 into your Orange Everyday account within 60 days.

Call me optimistic, but I think it's looking good.

    • Did you get it?

      • +1

        Yes! Thanks for the reminder

If only their stupid app had notifications… What a concept…

    • How long did it take for the email to come through after you met the spend?

      • +1

I crossed over the $500 spend ~10th Aug, email came on 11th Sept.

  • Can i pay my telstra bill worth $800 and claim the $200
it does mention mobile top ups aren't eligible purchases

  • This has been one of the hardest credit cards I've ever applied for, they've requested my employment contract, usually I just upload a couple of payslips and that's enough.

  • +1

Commenting here because my application experience has been the exact opposite of some others.

I applied for the credit card using the portal, uploaded the required income verification documents (payslips, tax assessments) and was approved 48 hours later with no other contact needed at all. Card is currently on the way in the mail.

    • +1

Yeah mine was unusually easy. Might help that I have had my ING acc open for a long time and I use it very frequently.

  • +4

Just got an email for confirmation of the $200 bonus.

    • When did you meet the spend requirement?

      • 13th Sept.

    • Thanks for confirming. I've got a few negative comments and votes, so it's great to hear that it's working out for some!

      • +1

It just so happened I was looking for a credit card without international transaction fees and you posted the deal so thanks to you.

    • +1

      Same here. Thx again

      • When did you meet the spend requirement ?

        • Two weeks ago. Hit OW during the OnePass weekend

  • I made my purchase on 12 September and still not received any confirmation email.

  • +2

Made purchase 18sept. email about bonus 4/10. Funds seen 10/10. Credit card now cancelled

  • +1

Didn't receive a confirmation email, but the $200 appeared in my account a few days ago.
